The man suspected of Norway's gun and bomb massacre liked guns and weight-lifting, had belonged to an anti-immigration party and opposed multi-culturalism, Islam and the "cultural Marxists" of the establishment.

"When did multiculturalism cease to be an ideology designed to deconstruct European culture, traditions, identity and nation-states?" said one his entries, posted on February 2, 2010.

A quiet youth, introverted, and described as a good student. He had a lot going for him but apparently held some extremist views. With extremist views often comes extreme actions and that appears true enough here. He was obviously not favorable to multi-culturalism and seemed also to fancy himself as a modern-day knight illuminata.

A video on the YouTube website promoting a fight against Islam apparently showed pictures of the suspect, wearing a wetsuit and pointing an automatic weapon. The pictures appear at the end of an approximately 12-minute video called "Knights Templar 2083". The video has been removed from the site.

He expressed clear support for the nationalist mindset. He claims he has an education in finance and religion, but does not disclose what universities he should have studied at. 'eerily familiar' as you say, looks like someone I used to see around Oslo, but probably just my imagination. But I would say you are right about changes coming for security in Norway.

So why didn't he attack a mosque or some place where he could kill a lot of Muslims or immigrants then? Why did he attack his own people instead of immigrants? Your post doesn't make any sense.

It seems the chap decided the socialist party was to blame for the failure to protect national identity as he saw it. As a result he tried to wipe out its current leader (the PM) and its future: the kids. In essence he seems to have been driven by his hatred of the erosion of national identity, manifested by his dislike of muslims/etc and decided the resolution would be best by sending a political message through death and destruction of the ruling party.

I totally abhor his actions and disagree with his method of attempting to stop his government continuing a policy of integration. I can however understand his argument - in terms of the sentiment behind the erosion of cultural identity a lot of us feel in the West. His way of trying to change the world is beyond bizarre and (as an atheist) he deserves to rot in the deepest torture chamber of this Earth, bring on some Iranian style punishment for this MF, let his victims families proscribe his fate.

His abominable actions did nothing to further any of his purported concerns.

Ego-maniac, and nuts. Hold none of this against Norwegians, Christians or conservatives. They are blameless except to the extent that they allowed someone so far over the edge to own weapons.

Then again, psychopaths are good at pretending to be nice and usually do fool a lot of people before they crack, don't they?

from reading the rants of his he thought multiculturalism and Communism were the same thing (in his eyes) so it wasent the just dislike for multi culturalizim but a wanting to label socialism,facisim,and multiculturalizim to all be painted with the same brush as naziizm atleast thats what i got from it

statisticly when you try to go into a mosque some one at least ONE will have some form of a gun legal or otherwise kids were sadly "better"(shudders) targets for this monster im betting the bombs were solely a diverson as other members have said b4 he wanted to get the kids of the political party he didnt like to try to erase there future or something like that least thats my theory

Thanks tons for your links. I'm just mid way thru the diary so far. Absolutely fascinating reading to see his thought patterns. His incredible planning of the minutest detail is something a normal brain usually cannot handle. It takes the unfeeling focus of a psychopath to carry that kind of rigor thru to its horrible fruition.

edit to add: Reading on with his diary .... it is becoming surreal. At times it comes across as a screenplay written after the fact because such detailed forethought could not be possible; except that we know it all happened.

I strongly doubt that your theory is correct. The whole conflict between GDP and EDL started with a change of leadership in the EDL for a few months ago. They threw out the racist and denounced the BNP. They chose instead SIOE's ideological basis that is more or less mainstream view on the right side in Western Europe now (Vienna School of Thought).

Nick was very offended and began to demonize the EDL. Although they are now attacking each other as they compete not at all as these are two quite different fronts. 90% of all votes in the EDL continued GDP (Since this is the only alternative to multikulti in the UK) and 90% of GDP supports EDL regardless of what Nick had to think.

You know, I'm seeing a similar process unfold with the speculation around this man as I saw happen with Jared Loughner. Remember him? The nutbar in Tuscan who wrote a number of illucid screeds about currency creation and inductive reasoning before going out one morning to open fire on a politician. Almost as soon as it had happened, people were seeking to define his "ideology" -- and in so doing, distance their own views from him. Democrats were sure he was a Tea Party member: conservatives were convinced he was a liberal. But what he really was, I feel sure will be revealed in the fullness of time, was a mentally ill individual. Poltics meant next to nothing, and the partisan sniping died down to an embarrassed silence as everyone realized this (some sooner than others).

I see something similar here, but it's worse. The scope of the tragedy is larger, obviously. But beyond that, this man's writing (which I have looked briefly at) is not an inchoherant word salad like Loughner's ramblings. It is much more superficially organized and presented in a seemingly systematic fashion. This makes it easier for anyone to take it seriously as politics. But in truth, his acts cannot be blamed on any particular ideology, religion, or belief system. He may not be "insane" in as conspicuous a way as Loughner, but clearly these acts are the product of a troubled mind, not an ideology.

I think also, in the examination of the actions, many a barfly will have heard similar bluster from their drinking buds and said they too would love to fight the fight against 'the man'. This guy lost the inhibition of society/morality to actually act in a manner that same barfly will recognise talking about.

In a similar vein to a jihadist, one assumes he believed his actions were intrinsically the right thing. There is no indication that it was his religious bent that drove this belief - the facebook page he created seems to have undoubtedly enforced the sentiment that he was driven by a political ideology.

At the bottom of it all, it reinforces the tribalistic instincts of man and his inability to completely integrate as one race.

They ARE the same thing! "Multiculturalism" is just "Cultural Marxism" in disguise, deliberately designed to destroy the ethnic and national identity of the "target country" from within. The Nazis were also Socialists.

I would not paint that movement with such a broad brush, that is NOT what the Tea Party is about. No.

There are, however, extremists in every extreme movement. I would expect the Tea Party is much better balanced and in itself does not promote such extremism. In all possibility though, I expect some future perpetrator of some atrocity may be found to have had some casual connection to the movement. I hope I am wrong.

I know he is far from as ideologically confident as me so it would be meaningless to tell him and most importantly; if he knew anything it would incriminate him. Ignorance is blizz…

He states his best friend is of Hungarian descent and yet he hates immigrants and joins a 'Pan European Resistance' movement. I cannot find a consistent ideology from this guy, except all people opposite to me in belief must be wrong.

FYI the progress party in Norway is extremely opposed to the ruling socialist party in terms of how most 'normal' people think,.

Also the 'meaningless' sentiment means this guy does not even hae the conviction of his own beliefs.
