Just look at the damage there to to this poor kid

WHAT?

Prophecy, did you get a look at this vid posted by Bixxi3?

Now THAT'S SADISTIC!

That is just a baby! An innocent! That man is trying to make that baby think that purple thing is coming after him....and it's not! It's an inanimate object! And look at that man's smirk at the end! He believes he is doing nothing wrong to that baby!

I hope someone turns this man into Child Protective Services.

A child in their fathers arms playing while the mother films, thats "night and day" compared to my OP. Whats your point??

I'm being serious here.

But didn't you see the video? The poor little kid is being tormented and laughed by his parents holding a purple ball.
There conditioning the kid to grown up to be fearful of purple balls. Just think her whole life ruined. She won't be able to play with balls. They probably did this when ever family and friends were over so they could watch for there amusement. Sick right?

Thats how ridiculous your op was.

There is nothing inappropriate about exposing children to marriage, they should NOT however be arguing this heatedly about it. It is waaaay too early for them to be worried about these things. As simple a you refer to an alcoholic drink as an "drink for adults" that is exactly the same way you can explain this.

You have no problem with lying about santa clause and the tooth fairy but you have a problem saying "stop it, marriage is for grown-ups"

Prophecy, what am I going to do with you?

If you don't lighten up and stop over-analyzing things, you are going to have a myocardial infarction.

I'm being serious here.

How do you train some one to do something before they are born... If someone is born with a certain ability, its in the genes....

That said, I still disagree with the thoughts in your OP, though I can see where you are coming from.

Hence the phrase "since birth".

PLAYING marriage. Playing being the key word. It's the same as them arguing heatedly over any game or disagreement.

If the kids were pretending to be cops or teachers, should the parents also put a stop to that, saying 'careers are for adults'? Or perhaps if they're having a heated argument over who gets to be the doctor and who gets to be the nurse? The parents should put a stop to the argument but not because "that's for adults".

Now if the children were dancing provocatively (something I've witnessed on more than one occasion) or singing provocative lyrics (also something I've witnessed many times), then THAT is definitely a cause for concern.

marriage is so much realer than all of that non-sense. Imagine if she were letting another boy ask him that. How would you feel THEN

Bixxi3.....I think we are being run out of this thread by the psychoanalysts.

They don't appreciate our brand of Tom Foolery.

I guess I'll check back with ATS tomorrow and maybe, if I'm lucky, Prophecy will have posted a thread accusing some guy on YouTube for psychological brainwashing because he's training his dog to "sit."

You honestly are blowing this out of proportion. You said there probably between 4 and 6. I had my "first kiss" at 5 so this not something that just started happening now. Now when everything bad or just "immoral" happens its because of the media or society is changing. Society is changing but it has nothing to do with that video. There's plenty of other kids around the world doing that and have been doing that since forever. And then you say there playing marriage that's better than having an appearance on 16 and pregnant, in a way they are teaching them morals. Get married. You probably dont have kids cause you would realize that this is a normal thing but your kinda uptight i think you need relax and get your cherry popped or something

Are you being serious posting this video, or is this just a parody about how some people see things that aren't there and blow them out of proportion wildly? If it's the latter, then bravo....quite well done. If it's the former then.....well....yeah. I'm not sure what advice I can give you if you were serious about this....other than, maybe you need to take a breath...count to ten, and give a long hard look at your thinking process.

So saying that this mother should have intervened is wrong

Playing games based on occupations, how people make their living, is just a bunch "non-sense" while pretending to be married is cause for a huge uproar? Children don't understand the seriousness and level of commitment of a marriage nor do they understand these same aspects when applied to careers.

What exactly is it about playing marriage that disturbs you so much? What do you think could be a devastating result of such a game? Didn't you ever pretend to be married when you were a child, or at least pretend to be a parent?

Lets just make one thing clear (in obama's voice), If six year olds are arguing about marriage to the point of bullying and or crying, and they are in front of me, there's gonna be a problem.

By forbidding any playfulness involving marriage, the children could think marriage is somehow wrong....if you wanna get psychological about it.
I don't think discouraging marriage is in anyway helpful to anyone. Civilization is built around marriage.
