I think predicting no earthquakes over mag 6 for two weeks period in August regardless if it is the beginning, middle, end or combination of two is a successful prediction when talking of earthquakes.

You are proving one thing DJW. You are proving that it's very hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Precisely. Trolls just can't take it that alignment-strong quakes connection is now a proven FACT as far as science is concerned: we now have 2 PhD theoretical physicists who agree.

And the paper is just in preprint stage, as Dr. Omerbashich notes. Can you imagine all the verifications and attention once it's published?

Trolls are panicking already

Actually we're 100% correct. I've already received a message back fro Dr. Zanette. It seems that the infallible "good Doctor" can't even perceive satire.

Thank you for your message. You have correctly perceived the satirical nature of my "contribution". I am amused to hear that Omerbasich and supporters (?!) think that it backs their theories (which of course I consider garbage)... but perhaps this reaction was to be expected. Let us just enjoy the entertainment, which will evanesce as swiftly as comet Elenin.

Best wishes. Damián Zanette

PS: I have created the "Patagonian Royal Society" to give an institutional frame to my paper, only to recall that nobility titles are banished in my country since 1813...

And now they forge emails. Btw, that was FAST, even for a "response" lol

Even if this alleged email is authentic, it only proves that Dr. Zanette has "lost it" . But hard to imagine someone would want to make such a fool of himself, given all the data, georesonance equations end so forth.

Just because I knew you'd claim forgery I just got finished uploading a screenshot of the email.

Then no earthquakes in two weeks is an anomaly.

To say the least. Which of course they can't explain, unlike the good Dr.

But why would they even bother, when it's more fitting with their character to try discredit the messenger. You can spell a million equations to these trolls, where left and right hand sides are equal, they still won't believe it.

They do believe the government teacher who "taught" them as 10 years old kids that "astrology is BS, period".

Funny world, in which neither data nor equations hold merit any more.

Here's an idea: since you obviously do not understand Dr. Zanette's paper, why don't you e-mail him yourself and have him explain it to you. Then you can post the reply here for all to see. Otherwise, all you're doing is, well, trolling.

I have a better idea since you don't understand papers or equations, it goes also for other trolls who post fake emails: read the papers.

In the meantime, here is a notice on Dr. Zanette's homepage:
"From April 2003, publication in U.S.-based journals has been avoided when possible"
Or another notice at the bottom of his other page, in which he goes lengths to justify use of English...

Hard to believe an Anglofob like this would be answering his emails promptly (at all) to an American, while ridiculing his own papers unofficially (in an email) rather than first doing it openly, on his website, arxiv, etc. In fact, given the fact Dr. Omerbashich himself is an Anglofob, this more looks like a political thing to me.
Which makes you a US Government shill, I suppose.

Btw, you got his name with exact punctuation as well as his full-path email (server-end) from the bottom of his page. Yawn...

And so you trolls shoot yourselves in da foot again

Last time I checked Windows Outlook wasn't a photo editing software. The only editing I did on that photo was to black out my name. I agree that since you don't believe me you should go ahead an email Dr. Zanette. The only reason I can see for you not to do that is because you can't take the fact that not only is Omerbashich not supported by other scientists, but is in fact a laughing stock among other scientists.

Based on a faked email? In your trolling dreams.

On the other hand, Dr. Omerbashich is supported by past data, derived equations and correct predictions. Speaking of which: as seen on www.seismo.info, Full Moon of 12 September attenuated oscillations down to M 6, from previous M 6.4. They continued dropping as predicted after FM, down to an M 6.2. In fact, they continue dropping as we speak and in the same fashion as Dr. Omerbashich noted with his trending arrows, so just now they reported that Alaska was hit with a M 6.1:
#EARTHQUAKE (USGS): M 6.1, Near Islands, Aleutian Islands, Alaska adf.ly/2jSzr #Past_hour q.gs/837213/h

As for emailing Dr. Zanette, here's an idea: write him an "email", asking if was sarcastic also about his Anglophobia which he displays on both of his pages. Seems like he's on the same page with Dr. Omerbashich on many issues, not just science. That's to much for you Government shills to swallow isnt' it? Haa haa, too bad.

I'm pretty sure ttimez's posts are even more satirical than Dr. Zanette's paper. It just goes to show that Poe's Law applies to more than just Fundamentalism.

There are many factors that cause earthquakes, not just celestial bodies in our solar system. Just because we had an earthquake during that time frame does not mean that his hypothesis for his theory is incorrect.

If that is what you are implying?

I'm not implying anything; I am simply pointing out that HRH was wrong. Funny, if he had predicted that there would be no earthquakes and there weren't any, you would claim that his theory were proven. If he predicted that there would be one, and there were, you would also claim that his theory were proven. As it is, he was wrong, so you are making excuses. Since you are now acknowledging that things other than planetary alignments cause earthquakes, perhaps you are ready to admit to yourself that maybe its these other things that cause the earthquakes and the "planetary alignments" are just a coincidence.

You can't grasp simple concepts: middle 2 weeks are any 2 consecutive weeks which are neither the beginning nor ending weeks of any given month. Why is it so difficult? Did you confuse middle for median/medial, perhaps?

Middle: "indicate something from which two or more other things are (approximately or exactly) equally distant" -- note 'approximately'
Median: "situated in or pertaining to the middle; medial"

Dr. Zanette's stand on the Anglo empire (and language):

"Why in English?
My first language is Spanish, the native language of some 400 million people. Spanish is growing very popular as second or third language. In Europe (outside Spain), for instance, it is frequent to meet people who speak Spanish quite fluently. As a scientist, however, I use English for practically all communication purposes beyond my immediate surroundings. While the number of native English speakers is similar to that of Spanish, English is spoken as a second language by perhaps some 1,500 million people. The possibilities of communicating with any other person over the world increases thus dramatically if one uses English.

Personally, I do not like English. It still suffers from the effects of suppression and disintegration that followed the Norman invasion of England, almost 1000 years ago. Its pronunciation is difficult, and often challenges rules and intuition. On the other hand, I must recognize that it has the advantage of a relatively simple grammar, which makes it easier to learn by native speakers of distant languages.

At a global scale, English plays now the role of lingua franca that Latin had in Europe until some 400 years ago. One wonders whether the ultimate fate of English is to disappear in a similar way as Latin did, transformed into a bunch of languages which are scarcely intelligible to each other. There is evidence pointing to that direction, at least in the scientific medium. Many Asian scientists, for instance, speak English in a manner that turns out to be almost incomprehensible to us, but that they clearly share; probably the same happens the other way around. As long as the empires that sustain the spreading of English last, its use will be reinforced in spite of the natural variations and changes inherent to linguistic evolution. When those empires fall, if the use of English as lingua franca however persists, its degeneracy into a multitude of daughter languages is perhaps unavoidable."

From: sites.google.com...

Now that sure sounded like someone you'd expect to reply (immediately from a usually very busy scientist at that) American troll's emails. (Send me an email now, ask me if I meant to be sarcastic).

Have you actually looked at the month of August on a calendar? August 1 was a Monday, so there are two possible "two consecutive weeks" that are neither the first nor last week. One is August 7 - August 20, the other is August 14 - August 27. No matter how you choose, August 19 falls within the range. HRH is wrong again.

Hmmm... couldn't possibly have anything to do with Europe's attitude towards the US invasion of Iraq, could it? Instead of trying to kick dust in people's eyes, why don't you just tell us what Dr. Zanette told you when he returned your e-mail. You did e-mail him, didn't you? Or are you afraid?

Since you didn't see the above dictionary definitions of 'middle' v. 'median', for y'all to learn:

Middle 2 weeks are any 2 consecutive weeks which are neither the beginning nor ending weeks of any given month. Middle: "indicate something from which two or more other things are (approximately or exactly) equally distant" -- note 'approximately' --
Median: "situated in or pertaining to the middle; medial"

Dr. Omerbashich talks about middle 2 weeks, not median 2 weeks. So you misquoted the man again, as he was on the money with his predictions.

Oh, you just lost the argument, again.

He was actually watching this thread earlier. He also kind of challenged you to send him an email. He said that he would let me know if you dared to send him an email. He seems to be quite amiable and just having fun with the ridiculousness of this whole Elenin situation.
