Meh … the dose makes the poison. Unless it can be established that any of these contaminants are in concentrations that should worry me, I wont.

It states:
Apart from economic and veterinary concerns, bovine growth hormones pose grave consumer health risks that have not been investigated by the industry or FDA.

-Bovine growth hormones are not "natural." The FDA now admits that they are up to "3% different in molecular structure" from the normal hormone. Increased rBGH levels in milk and blood have been found in injected cows. rBGH and its digested products could be absorbed from milk into blood, particularly in infants, and produce hormonal and allergic effects.

Reading stuff like this makes me feel physically sick. As well as furious.

There are plenty of studies on the controversy over the fluoridation of water supplies, aspartame and the phosphate fertiliser used in growing tobacco just to name a few off the top of my head. Real scientific studies and trials with frightening results.

If you hold an opinion on this general topic and you are not worried then I suggest you read up on it.

I don’t see why I should get worked up over 30 nanograms per KG of ANYTHING, let alone these substances.

I'm thinking that a petition/mass collection of signatures and a case sent to all media outlets, relevant government departments and milk companies would be more effective.

That being said I still don't think anything solid would come of it.

Do not be discouraged! Both methods will have an effect, and more will come up to use as well. Take it from a former insider, and be clever. Look at the ads in local papers, always a good place to start, since ads pay for eveything printed in the papers.
Question these vendors, write letters to the editor, etc. Nothing makes the media more nervous than the possibility of losing ad revenue, and nothing makes the grocery stores more nervous than the idea of losing customers for any reason.

Pull THEIR strings for a change. The key is that the noise must begin and then grow as a groundswell, so simultaneously posting on social sites is crucial. Make noise and keep building it until everyone has heard about it. Sooner or later, the media will cover it just to make sure they are not left out and considered poor journalists.

How funny is that? We can print or communicate for free what it costs the media to publish.

They are the ones obsessed with the media, remember? They can't fire everyone, and most of us don't work for them.

Together we can all do something to use the machine against itself. Use social media to make noise.

Everyone will care about this.

Do it for these reporters who exemplify good journalism, and what happens to those who practiced it so far in Amerika. I have posted it several times, where applicable, and that seems to be more and more lately, especially in light of Mr. Murdoch and his filthy secret hold on everything, and I do mean, everything that passes across the screens of millions of Americans, and he does not allow competition, either.

These two should receive the Pulitzer for their work, and respect for what it cost them to show us all the truth about the milk, which they could not do at that time, and an example of persecution. The MSM contains many like them who have been silenced like them, or fired and given no voice at all.

There are unnecessary chemicals acting as poisons that are actually having effects on the population. Open your eyes.

Well, if they are having effects in the concentrations detected in the study, you shouldn’t have any problem pointing to some peer reviewed epidemiological study to that effect.

Thanks for this excellent and timely posting, too!

A couple more things that have been invaluable to me in my pursuit of change:

Simultaneously, call the mayor's office, ask for the PR person, and lay all this on them with the impassioned plea, "How can WE be safe here in our wonderful city/town of XYZ? We know about this, right? Do we have proof? We DON'T?!"

Click.

Now do the same with the State Ag board. Skip the county for now. The State and local folks will contact them quietly if you do your job well enough. LOL it is true, but you must make a few phone calls. Leave messages and be very professional and thorough, and above all, polite. You would be amazed how much you can create buzz if you don't alienate people.

Contacting PR people is extremely important for those who depend on public opinion.

It is their job to listen to you, and if you stay calm and polite, gently concerned, they have no easy way to brush you off. LOL

Again, this works best if you involve as many others in as many different aspects of life as possible, pastors, teachers, dieticians at school boards, etc.

It is crucial to let each person you speak with know (without naming names) that you have spoken to other officials about this. Give no details, but remember you are here to frighten them. PR people want to know and control what people think, so shake them up and keep their interest by ending the call with all the questions unanswered and preying upon their minds.

Of course, they are only thinking of spin, but results are impressive, so they can get something done for that reason alone, and hey, I will take what results I can get, as long as they are good and no one broke the law or acted unethically.

See, they have ways to manipulate you if you just call up for answers. This way, you are calling to get them thinking and eventually acting. By contacting multiple agencies, you ensure that someone will have to do some investigation if only to prove these things are "false" lol. Get people involved who HAVE to follow through.

That way, out of all these, someone will make a move, just to say they did. Who knows what that might trigger?

Use your imagination.

Just a bit of proof and reassurance that this approach - a mulit-pronged effort - works.

Next time you are in a restaurant, ask the server or manager where the food originated. There are new laws that require every restaurant to have a notice on the wall, which you will be shown, listing all their meats and produce, and where they came from. You would be amazed how much comes from China.

How do you suppose that law came into being?

People doing what I mentioned above. This type of action also got a superintendent of education indicted here in Birmingham, and now we have a new one, and some hope.

I understand your argument but you miss one very important, and possibly most relevant point. It's those very low doses of antibiotics and such that are breeding highly resistant strains of super bugs. We are quickly running out of useful medications and unless we make some major medical breakthroughs soon, the human race will be plummeted right into medieval period where the black death will look like a common cold by comparison.

This thread is very eye-opening! Thanks for sharing that article, op. The info on cancer and osteoporosis is also valuable.

One thing; since the chemicals come from the cows themselves, then both regular and organic milk would also have traces, right? The article says "All cow's milk (both regular and "organic") has 59 active hormones, countless allergens, lots of fat (unless it is skim) and cholesterol." So then can it be safe to assume that soymilk does not have these chemicals?

I found your answer here: answers.yahoo.com...

Recombinant bovine growth hormone is never used in non bovine animals so no it is not in soy, rice, almond, etc., milks. Nor is it in sheep or goats milk

These medicinal residues, found in samples of cow, goat, and human breast milk, are from a variety of chemicals used to treat animal and human illness.

Noooo, breast milk is my favorite

let's look into that then and put some effort to fix this then, i'd be glad to say this whole thing started on a conspiracy website and grew into mass porportions that forced the milk industries and other food industries to step up the safety of their product, lest they go out of bussiness.

let's do some brainstorming in this thread, what are some possible ways to move in that direction. it would seem most everyone has a distaste for all these chemicals and poisons in the foods they pay money for and foods they put into their bodies.. i doubt there are many out there who would be opposed to a measure to decrease these 'additives' to our milk, and other foods..

so with the reasoning that we are all human being, susceptable to the same poisons, this movement could only be a success, one only has to initiate it.

Man, I hate that all the food we ate sucks. If you cut out milk image what else you cut out. Think of all the things made from milk. A lot of my favorite foods require milk. It's a shame "organic" is prolly not organic at all. Maybe it's time we all become our own farmers. The vegan way seems to be the only way now...son of a bit..

Since being properly informed about the ongoing Fukushima disaster (mid April or so) I have completely stopped drinking milk and eating ice cream. I've lost 14 pounds since then, without exercising (actually exercising less) and without actively trying to modify my diet. I continue to drink soda and juice too... I can't say it's definitely related, but it seems like it is partly the cause of it anyway.

I would love to have one of those greenhouses that grows TONS of food. It'd be such a better way to live.
