I want to reiterate that I'm participating in this thread for several reasons. I enjoy the out of the box thinking, the in depth discussion & I just plain enjoy puzzles that stimulate the mind.

With that said;

-I don't believe this is marketing for a movie, not only because of the one post, but because the site was not spread further. (poor marketing work if they didn't spread this to large quantity of message boards to spark the intrigue.)

-I still believe that the most plausible answers to this, as of now,

That it is either going to make some sort of social statement on the 3rd to bring about some sort of awareness.

That they are a group of programmers and/or hackers who will take back some sort of security software one of them designed

That they could be planning on releasing a trojan designed to only affect a certain group of computers. (government possibly)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also wanted to note that they said they said they liked Capitalism.

Regardless, I'm enjoying this thread tremendously & IMO, this type of thing is what makes ATS great.

So I stumbled onto this looking up Exocrine in images...
it's a pretty funny read if you think about it but this certainly caught my eye

Well I know Bell of Lost Souls' Lords of Battle Datasheet has some rules for the Exocrine

did anyone read this!

"Anthem is a dystopian fiction novella by Ayn Rand, first published in 1937 in England. It takes place at some unspecified future date when mankind has entered another dark age as a result of the evils of irrationality and collectivism and the weaknesses of socialistic thinking and economics. Technological advancement is now carefully planned (when it is allowed to occur at all) and the concept of individuality has been eliminated (for example, the use of word "I" is punishable by death). As is common in her work, Rand draws a clear distinction between the "socialist/communal" values of equality and brotherhood and the "productive/capitalist" values of achievement and individuality." ^^ thats some of what what wikipedia says about the novel(interesting very interesting) en.wikipedia.org... (here is the link)

edit on 21-7-2011 by shadow12 because: (no reason given)

on the Q&A they said they personally did not read it but 2 other members did, and that it was not related ♥

I hear you. Truth be told though unless this ends up being A site marking the return of Jesus El Savior Cristos then I think the lot of us will be let down.

I promise not to be let down - I'm stupidly entertained and I already got everything out of the 8311 dealie that I need

Belle Frajnovits Selman was born in Oradea, Romania (Hungary). Her father, Mauritiu, had an import/export business. His trucks delivered materials for factories. Her mother’s name was Leni (Bergida) and she had five brothers and one sister, many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family was modern, meaning conservative by today’s description, in a town of about one quarter of a million Jews. Belle was about six years old when the war began and the Nazis told them to leave. They lived on the outskirts of the city and, early one morning, they awoke to see Nazis in their home. Belle remembers going somewhere with a tall wall and locked gate. Before they left, the family buried valuables under a rose tree in a big wooden crate in the yard. They were taken to a small home with lots of other families, who all wore yellow stars. Because so many of the women and young girls were abused, Belle’s father cut her hair so she would look like a boy and be safe. She saw constant shootings and any women who were taken never returned.

I am still trying to catch up from last nights major recap... so I hoping this wasn't already posted...if so please disregard.

One of the questions and answers went like this:

Q: "sunday, chile and venezuela will play a match of football, who will win?"

A. "We're not fortune tellers. Please stop asking us to predict the outcome of soccer games."

I am not sure for other countries...but us americans say "soccer" instead of "football"

I doubt this is some sort of huge break thru..but something I noticed in the madness this thing has become.
....back to mid 40's for page reading...thanks guys

Drama - 2011 (USA)
Based on the true life of Belle Gunness, Belle is the story of America's most prolific female serial killer at the turn of the century.

Problem solved!!

How would this be related? which part of the problem is solved? I don't want to doubt you but I have tons of movie titles listed... why this one?

I believe you're referring to the german counting? she starts out saying 1-9 (then zero), then towards the end she repeats the numbers out of order - this is still on the table - however - as Dethduck pointed out - NO VIDEOS come from the 3•8•11 site - so it may be pointless (they're likely fan videos)

Great take on that - I just want to agree and say that the question was "is this considered art" and the answer was "it could be"

I think the UofF is also an interesting aspect, but I'm thinking the "art" they elude to is going to be found somewhere in the images, based on this mornings note "they are key"

I will definitely add that their fav number is 11, but I think we should leave any movie/game speculations generalized - if it is a marketing gimmick, it would be impossible to tell which one (thoughI'm leaning towards atrocious if it is)

WOW thats a really long post with a lot of good points - if you can sum it up into like 2 sentences for me, I'll add it to the recap ♥

im still on the side of something from above, possibly a meteor, thats why we need the umbrella, and they found a secret transmission of it, and are going public with it on that date probably at 11:11 which in itself is believed to be a fun-loving guardian angel? it has set with me all day yesterday

Im probably wrong, but a guy can dream right LOL

someone pointed out (lost it) that they said a key is not necessary
and this morning it said the new image of belle is key

ok so... 2 thoughts

1. they changed participants/answerers/whateveryoucallit at some point - could that account for the discrepency?
2. WHAT new images? the one coming out on 8/3?

They said that they do not use the gregorian calendar, eh? Well, some of the other options are the Hebrew calendar, the Islamic calendar, the Julian calendar, the traditional Chinese calendar, the Hindu calendar and the solar calendar. You can find this info and more about the different calendars here.

They answered a question in Yiddish? Belle would have been a child during WWII era? Hmmm...

Is smoking taboo within the jewish faith? Yes, according to Wikipedia

More recently, rabbinic responsa tend to argue that smoking is prohibited, under Jewish law, as self-harm. Responsa to prohibit (or virtually prohibit) cigarette smoking have been issued by several Orthodox rabbis, including Waldenberg, and Hayim David HaLevi, Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv) from 1973. Smoking is specifically prohibited by Solomon Freehof, other Reform rabbis, as well as rabbis in the Conservative movement in the U.S. and Israel.

I wonder if they are allowed coffee? From everything I've come across while looking for the answer to that question, yes. The only issue of coffee in Judaism seems to be one of finding truly kosher coffee. Apparently, Starbucks probably doesn't qualify.

Okay... WWII era + Hebrew calendar + answers in yiddish + doesn't smoke, in accordance with judaic law + doesn't drink coffee, which is not forbidden in jewish law so long as it is kosher = jews who don't care for coffee

I could do the same thing for the Islamic calendar, but the yiddish doesn't fit. I don't know about their religious laws regarding coffee and/or smoking...

correct me if i'm wrong - was the word "exocrine" on the actual 3-8-11 website?
as far as we know, everything else is a copy cat (not saying its not related, just questioning the source)
we already list loads of sources that I personally believe are not related, I'm trying to add as few as possible to the recap

I'm going to try to double check that statement asap - I think they were pointing out the reason why they list the date as D/M/Y rather than M/D/Y as the US does

Note: trying to get as close to the top of page 54 as possible before posting the update but I don't want to flood to get there, keep posting

Ah, I'm not sure if this was brought up after this page (I'm on page 39 or 40 now). And I know it's probably stupid, but I'm throwing it out there. At the bottom of the picture referenced in Astrobuzz's post (which I've linked above), there is a star of David-like symbol with the 8.3.11 around it. I googled Star of David 8 3 11 and noticed that David Copperfield was playing in Las Vegas on 8.3.11.

Dumb, I know. But they talk about a revealing, retraction, have some really weird drawings of what (to me) looks like someone tied up?
