Hello to you all from France !
Maybe it is to prove us that we give all those "end of the world", "apocalypse", "doom" dates too much credit (21/12/2012). To show us that this date (8/3/11) something important has to happen because they tell us so.
A thing is as big as we want it to be, and we are making this site important.
I want to believe that something important will happen though...

opps just to clarify im talking about the formspring page.
also, i havent heard any of the radio broadcasting things played when I go to the website on my computer. Not once, weird.

The Formspring displays for me: last answer was to the "human gnome" question. Have you tried (I'm sure you have but I have to ask) refreshing the page.

That creepy radio broadcast still plays when I go to their website.

Maybe an ISP problem.

The few clues they've given have been so vague and any investigation relies almost entirely on the investigator just making up his own ideas and following them...and because of the vagueness...almost ANY idea could be backed up with unrelated "evidence". God, an event from space, the holocaust, the debt ceiling...the actual clues in the game are TERRIBLE.

Again...if this were a real event...then the people who have set out to warn us are completely incompetent and are wasting the few remaining days before the event happens hopping around conspiracy sites...can anyone be that stupid and yet have actual world changing information? I tend to think not. This game is designed way too poorly. There is no massive event that will actually take place on that date.

So, it's some sort of publicity stunt or group of morons who think they are more enlightened than they are. Someone should let them know that their game designing skills are garbage. Let me be clear...this game is NOT hard to decipher...it is a jumbled mess in design. There is a difference. A mystery needs to at least make sense, and this does not make any sense, and I GUARANTEE that the end result won't make any sense either, unless they plan to start going back on their word in the Q&A's.

I am all for these thought experiment games and multi-player games where we make the storyline...but the Dungeon Master is incompetent and unable to write a cohesive tale. At some point we should all just realize how pathetic this attempt at a game or publicity has been, and just stop playing. You don't throw out a couple of meaningless "clues" that are impossible to solve and then allow the players to just make up whatever they want, like the blind searching a dark room for a light with no switch. That isn't how mystery games are made or expected to be played.

Just in case the designers are reading this...you have accomplished ONE thing...you've entranced people into playing one of the worst mystery games ever created by tapping into their own personal areas of paranoia. Congrats...you succeeded despite being talentless.

Being surrounded by people who criticize?

Since apparently the bible "dont throw stones" things was a misreading of the words, I'd say that the contraption and its meaning is a total mystery...we know how it operates, but not for what purpose.

A mystery still, but at least you are thinking of different angles. That's what we need, fresh insight, to toss around ideas that we haven't addressed yet.....

It's been leaked, so it has to apply to this mystery somehow. I still get the creepy feeling it's a sort of chemical or biological bomb, and the bird's eye view is the blast radius. Not a WMD, but a localized effect.

Then again, I am also trying to shake that and find a different angle. Thanks for the input.

Hi everybody!

I'm concentrating my efforts on studying the audio tracks, since they seemed the most interesting (clue?) for me...

Right now I'm trying to get information from the track "Lostinthemountains" but I'm stuck. I know is foxtrot style, but I'm not sure of the language (maybe german?) and I have no idea about finding out its title.
Any clue would be very valuable

Same here. I think that's the problem people are having with the mp3.s

Here's what bothers me about the idea that this is a handful of college students conducting a social experiment:

- If it is just to see how people work together to solve a problem, they could have accomplished this goal in a manner that would have been a lot easier for them to interpret the data and identify their sample population. Instead, they spent a lot of effort embedding information in source codes and covering their tracks. A little too intricate, in my book, for that purpose.

- The information meant to be found could have been about absolutely anything. However, what we find is information related to stars, constellations, bible passages, a Photoshopped German child named Belle (symbol for the "cause"), and vague connections to a variety of possible conspiracies. Conspiracy hunters like us are gonna tear this apart and take it in every possible direction and back until we find an answer.

- The fact that we haven't found an answer yet doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't one. What it means to me is that these people have done a pretty good job cloaking their purpose from people like us. A handful of college students completing an assignment? Doubtful.

- These people seem to be attempting to raise awareness of something. If we think it's viral marketing, then let's find out what they are marketing. If we think it's something else, then let's uncover it.

You all have been awesome throughout this thread. There's no reason not to keep going. The worst that could happen is that I am wrong and this turns out to be some college punks' assignment
Then at least I guess would have helped in some way. The best that could happen?.... well I guess that depends on what's important to you.

P, L & L

I gave up the college kids AND viral marketing theory a while ago. It's too tight, and someone would've leaked the answer by now. I truly think this is something unique.....

I also believe it's well thought out, and I'm hoping the answer isn't that obvious. I guess I am also here till we figure this out.

Welcome!!!

It's good you want to research more! But the audio is pretty much a dead end. Everything in the audio is well documented as part of the Conet Project that archived audio from number stations. For more on the track you mention, I did a post on that a few days ago and it have the breakdown. Just follow the link ---->
www.abovetopsecret.com...

ETA: Just want to clarify, the audio might not be a complete dead end as they might be using it for clues, but the audio has been around a long time and is well known to many. If you follow the link above and then follow the link to the Conet Project's website you can get the breakdown of each audio track. I have also ran comparisons between the original audio from the Conet site & the audio from the 3811 site and of the tracks I compared, they match up, ,meaning they have not been altered.

I know it's been said before but my take on this whole thing is movie release hype.
They have even said it's become bigger than expected (in other words I'm sure). It's most likely hyping up the new flick 11-11-11. I mean 8+3 = 11.....8.3.11.....11-11. I think everything else is being made up in our own heads. We will see soon I suppose. The whole occams razor and such. These people don't seem exceptionally smart.

If one were to further that hunch, about being attacked from all angles, then obviously Israel would be the first place that would come to mind...the world gathering around to throw "stones" at Israel. Unfortunately, as I said, this game is so poorly designed that it relies 100% on the bias of the players making things up. If you believe in Nibiru, then the constellations are enough to send you off on your search, if you believe the bible, then the throwing stones concept is all you need, and on and on and on. Heck, if you are a JFK guy, the stones could represent him being shot at from the front and the back and the truth will finally be revealed on 8-3-11. I'm sure the designers are patting themselves on the back right now, applauding their genius...but it takes not genius, but utter stupidity to design a mystery so vague that anything could be plugged in as a reasonable answer. Mysteries must progress, and this one isn't.

I was convinced the sound files would be the key.

Your welcome Don!!

I just edited my post to say they might see the audio as a clue. But there is no need for everyone to try and decipher it all again. It is well documented already. I will say this. If someone can decipher anything new from those tracks, they would be famous in the number station community.
Those tracks have been a mystery for a long time!

Me too... I had the feeling that were strongly connected with the aim of the group... in fact the most curious for me in this mystery is why they chose that specific tracks... but for the moment I'm at an impasse

They probably chose those tracks because they stumbled across the existence of these numbers stations...probably through the Wilco album...and decided to use creepy sounds in their game.
