The strange audio files on the web site mention Y H F. Wilco album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the fourth album by Chicago-based rock band Wilco. The album was completed in 2001, but Reprise Records, a Warner Music Group label, refused to release it. Wilco acquired the rights to the album when they left the label. In September 2001, Wilco streamed the entire album for free on their website.

Though Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was recorded before the September 11, 2001 attacks, critics perceived references in the album to the attacks. For example, Jeff Gordinier of Entertainment Weekly compared the two towers of Marina City to the World Trade Center towers.

The cover art has twin towers images on it.

Jay Farrar (now of Son Volt), Mike Heidorn, and Jeff Tweedy (now of Wilco) of the now-defunct alt country group Uncle Tupelo are from Belleville.

This is similar to the Nine Inch Nails an alternate reality game they used to launch the album Year Zero, has all the same hallmarks.

oh you read the recap! is that the items you're working on? pretty sure we ruled out it being related to conet by itself - but perhaps its a copywrite issue as stated by Libertygal 2 pages ago - she had some great ideas that may tie in

regarding Wilco - they used samples from www.irdial.com...
The recordings of numbers stations (a whole different can of worms entirely) appear to be taken from The Conet Project recordings.

Most likely it's an ARG or viral marketing campaign for something that will be, more than likely, less interesting than the campaign itself.

he's just convinced as well this has all been pointless in the 8/3/11 aspect

I know he appreciates the same stuff I appreciate but we're understanding that whatever the 8/3 purpose is - won't make any difference, and hasn't made any difference

They admitted they photoshopped the hairline and eye, and that the mouth is from one person. They also said the face is two halves.

But the eyes are not 100% identicle, they are different eyes, only the relection in them are similar

Didn't someone link to an analysis of the picture waaay back which showed that the left eye (our left) had been altered, but only inside the area of the iris? Perhaps they matched up only the light reflection.

The only one I've seen them give an age for is "Belle". And they have also claimed that she is not part of the group, only a symbol for it.
