Exactly, but artists, especially musicians, do not share that idea. Especially when it comes to anything about making money. Copyright does not have to be filed for, it is assumed, but the way the internet is - global - there is no way to enforce fair usage VS copyright infringement.

Fair right usage requires a source. Look at all the people that do not give credit for their avatars, but they obviously use them from movies, musicians, etc. Some people even change the images to meet their own desires.

So, how do you enforce copyright laws fro the US in say, Argentina? You can't. Unless you have a lot of money, or somehow restrict the flow of information.

I think the material posted on their site is free of Copyright infringement. If people submit photo's, they are obviously free of copyright/fair usage violations. The photo of Belle, and why she was "informed" was to garner permission to use/photoshop the photo. There were obvious stages of her being informed revealed through the questions/answers. They did state Copyfight was not a typo. The mp3's are copyright free.

I think they are painfully careful about not infringing on Ciopyrights of any type, but if it is an experiment, perhaps it is to simply show one thing.

It is the whole basis behind Copyfight/Net Neutrality, and the unreasonableness of trying to use US Copyright Laws on the internet. It *is* global, yes?

I cannot help, because of the obvious usage of Copyfight on the website, this is an in your face clue. Been saying that since I found this thread, and still feel it is deeply involved.

Basically, it is a test to see how wide and far this image is spread, and if indeed there is a Copyright on it anymore.

Copyright Law is pretty simple. Once you type, create, or post a thing, it is Copyrighted. You cannot Copyright an *idea*, but you can copyright creations of literature, art, and images simply by being the first to make them.

Hence, everything we put online... *every* image, creative story, poem, artwork - is instantly copyrighted when you click post.

If your icon is not free clip art, etc, you are violating a copyright if you do not have the original owners permission to use it, unless you give credit to the person, and it falls under fair use laws.

Almost everything on youtube violated some copyright law.

I think this is key - hence, the images are "key".

Well they might have had that one up and deleted it. I noticed one of the Qs from the last 24 hours has been deleted. The one about the photo names having meaning for the photo (the answer implied they didn't).

We need to start taking screen shots of the Q & A, since they are deleting some of them.

Again.... I think we are dealing with kids. Deleting content? Seems to me if they are trying to release some significant info they wouldn't be deleting Qs.

And then there's this post... which really... we expect these people to give us a medical cure, enlightenment, protection from an overhead disaster???

They admitted they photoshopped the hairline and eye, and that the mouth is from one person. They also said the face is two halves.

But the eyes are not 100% identicle, they are different eyes, only the relection in them are similar

We believe you have hit the nail on the head.

We were even thinking that Los Tres Amigos are behind it, as this "experiment" not only brings out the best in ATS'ers - exhibiting selfless dedication by assisting others in search of the truth - and at the same time, said experiment bringing other members to the point of exasperation, hand-wringing and even questioning their very sanity... as we said before - brilliant.

What a great way to further observe "humanity at work" and LTA probably take extreme delight in tracking the various "facts" that fit various scenarios.

It proves that that imagination - in a collective - can "analyze a situation to death" - and still be pointed in a completely new direction, and go there, to analyze that situation to death - positively brilliant!
