And yet they can not raid us all. You are anonymous. I am. All of us--any[/i of us among the humans who recognize their own respective authorities as the highest and greatest in all the universe. We can let TPTB trample our last sparkling gem to rubble. We can watch this time---as we have countless times before--as our grips loosen and the frayed tails of our freedoms slip further and further away. We can do that this time. An overwhelming majority of humans and the like currently and for ever more are and, again, will in the future be passive members of the resistance and will take no physical, conscious action. However--as long as the burr under the saddle irritates us bucking studs and as long as friendly folks like you and me can meet minds, there is a resistance brewing. Didn't Mt. St. Helen brew? And Vesuvius? They brew. Then they blew. Them words is true. Stay in SCHOOO!

Reading this thread has been very interesting. The most interesting thing to me is the generation gap.

I am not so young anymore. And I won't be joining "the revolution." I wouldn't have joined it 20 or 25 years ago when I was closer to these people's age, either. I've read a lot about history and mob mentality...the French Revolution, Pol Pot, Mao's Cultural Revolution. Goals of planetary brotherhood and a better world mean little to me: My 20s and early 30s were spent in places like Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. And I've spent the last decade "digging in" and positioning myself and my family for TSHTF in a variety of ways. My goal is to keep out of the the way of both 1) the TPTB and 2) any large mobs of idealistic crusaders. Out of sight, out of mind. Oh yeah. Gone, gone, totally gone beyond....that's the ticket.

But even so, I find the protests of my fellow middle-agers in this thread a bit shrill...lots of shaming tactics about "spoiled kids" or the stupidity of adolescence or whatever...this doesn't strike me as the right response, somehow. Seems rooted in fear and complacency.

Look, if you want to say "I'm old and tired and I spent the last few decades scraping together what little I've got so I'm not about to toss it all away on some crusade," than just say so. That's an honest, rational, and totally defensible argument. And it is true that older people have "earned their rest" in a way young people usually cannot yet understand.

But instead of arguing from this position, many take the road of criticizing these kids morally or politically in ways that seem a bit out-of-key with much of the rest of the posting on the this board. I think there is a bit of ambient jealousy and even some fear of these "stupid kids" in this thread. For better or for worse, the youth is making waves, and the apprehensive and slightly defensive response on this board by people who tout themselves in other threads as "awake and aware" is more than a little amusing.

When I went to that site to read the Florida article, that mugshot almost attacks you....poster boy for internet terrorism is born....... Anonymous Unmasked. (still can't stop laughing at that mugshot)

They got all safe and secure believing their own hype and propaganda about safety in numbers and started letting their guards down. I wonder how many more of these terrorists got sucked out into the open and sealed their own fates. I hope the paddy wagons will be busy for many days.

Um... huh? Wow.

What he doesn't realize is that the next ten years of his life is over.

Since that particular member of the group is 21 years old, he will most likely have to serve the full sentence.

College career is delayed.

When it will really be interesting is if Anon can connect with disinfranchised older people. People who have lost everything, who have nothing left to lose, whose old dreams and illusions have been shattered.

If Anon can connect with their wisdom and experience....this will very quickly cease to be "a few pimply kids."

The thing is, there are millions and millions of Americans with nothing left to lose in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. And more coming down the pike every day. In normal times, this contingent naturally works to preserve the system because the system has given them a lot to lose. That's some of the resistance we are seeing by oldsters in this thrad.

But what happens when the system no longer works for them?

I have a feeling we might just find out.

“People grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up interest wrinkles the soul. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope as old as your despair. In the central place of every heart there is a recording chamber. So long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer and courage, so long are you young. When your heart is covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then, and then only, are you grown old. And then, indeed as the ballad says, you just fade away.”
Gen. Douglas MacArthur

Uh ok bud, but we''ll see about that. I believe they got'em man. I really believe they got'em!

That's like saying the US Military has captured 7 insurgents and claiming Al-Qaida is over. Anon seems to be a network of cells, similar to what we've been told about Al-Qaida.

Yup. You are right. Here is the problem:
we don't want to lose the little we have left (reputations included)
we don't know how to join the fight

You don't like the fact that more and more people are thinking you're an adolescent yourself, using retarded terms.

Tough.

Here is an interesting observation.

While I am questioning the integrity of Anonlescence (Anonymous), you people are attacking me directly as an individual.

You see, I respect everyone's personal opinion. Even though I do not agree with what everyone is saying, I will always respect what you folk post on this site. Sure, we may end up having heated debates, but I will never-ever degrade people for their personal beliefs.

You didn't read the FoxNews report (located in the first post) that said they were between the ages of 15 and 28.

Mate .. if you had any respect for anyone else on this thread.. you would have stopped using that terminology when you realised it was annoying folk.... see thats how respect works mate.

Respect is not continually pushing something into someone elses face... thats borderline rape!

Might it not be easier to join the fight and protect your (soon-to-be-completely-meaningless) reputation if you did so...anonymously?

It ultimately amounts to supporting the status quo, by fighting against and shaming those who actually dare to take action.

Look, if you want to say "I'm old and tired and I spent the last few decades scraping together what little I've got so I'm not about to toss it all away on some crusade," than just say so. Yes, that is precisely how the status quo is maintained.

Couldn't have said it better myself. A board of folks supposedly suspicious of the government and corporations and forces that control their life, ultimately come down against one of the few rag-tag groups that actually dare to try to change it. You see it time and again, in all spheres of life.

When they start showing innocent people respect, I will start showing Anonlescence (Anonymous) respect.

Did Anonlescence (Anonymous) show me respect when they hacked into email accounts at EA games?

Did they show other innocent people respect when they hacked personal accounts at Sony Corp?

Did Anonlescence (Anonymous) show the customers of Bank of America respect when they disrupted service?

Did Anonlescence (Anonymous) show American citizens respect when they hacked in and stole military secrets from a contractor?

Did they show the Church of Scientology respect? How about religious tolerance?

Did they show the innocent customers of VISA and MasterCard respect when they disrupted service?

What did I do to deserve such disrespect? Hmm...

Remember, Anonlescence (Anonymous) shot first.

Oh, OK. So it's personal. Now your incessant harping on age seems to make more sense. Anon hurt Section31, so section31 hurt Anon. Gotcha.

And the (not very effective) way you've come up with to attempt that is to somehow shame Anon by connecting them with connontations of immaturity, pimples, etc...Doesn't seem very mature to me, but hey, that's just me.

If you really do have a bee in your bonnet about age, I recommend my favorite thread.. Enjoy...

Not just me.

Every site they hacked and disrupted service was an attack on several thousands of innocent people.

Arresting these kids is insignificant. I'm waiting for them to hack a cable company up link or some other satellite up link and turn off TV to millions. I think the chaos would be magnificent. A the day the earth stood still like scene with the day the TV went out.

See. You don't care.

As long as the group gets revenge on someone, you folks really do not care who gets caught in the cross fire.
