News Of The World - a tabloid newspaper.

Do you live in a cave?

I didn't know what it meant either, that's why ATS has rules that specify no shorthand.

No one even knows what NOTW is.
Its like when my uncle mentioned some "famous" activist guy and when I told him I had no idea who he was and I had never heard of him, and then I even went as far as searching various activist sites that I go to for his name and came up with no reference of him... his mind was blown lol.
He had heard the MSM talking about this guy for years.

Sounds like this "News of the world" thing is something similar. Its something that regular folk seem to think is a big secret, but really its a big BS to prevent them from looking for the real truth.

The crappy irrelevant mass media world you mean.

Yeah, if you think bringing down one of the largest most powerfull media empires the world has ever seen irrelevant. I can't agree with you myself.

NOTW is News of the World for those who can't figure it out.

The collaps of this man and his evil company is a good thing for all. Have you looked at what his company did? Hacking into telephones of murder victims families. They got into the phone of one young teenager who was killed and listened to all her messages, then deleted some so that people could leave more. This gave the family false hope that she was still alive. Just so they could listen to some more messages and hopefully get a good story for their disgusting rag.

It now appears they hacked into the telephones of 9/11 victims and their families. We don't want a company like this in our world. There will be many on here who never read The news of the World, beleive me it was trash. But it was popular and widely read. Sheeple!

Londons top 2 police officers, the comissioner and his deputy have both resigned. This is a big deal.

Do not dismiss this story. Once described as the most powerfull man in Britain, Murdoc is falling fast, many would never have believed it. In my opinion this is pure GOLD!

It does make you wonder who he has upset, especially with the select group meetings happening today. I wonder how hard they will grill them. I did think it was strange the way Gordon Brown has turned on Murdoc

Even when you spell it out, I've never heard of it. I hardly live in a cave. Chances are this magazine is not as well known as you seem to think.

Thank you - you made me laugh!

One of Britains largest daily newspapers owned by one of the worlds largest media empires.

So, no, not very popular really.

It's a British tabloid newspaper that has been in print for over 160 years and had, up until recently, millions of regular readers. In the past couple of weeks it has been ALL OVER the British media.

It worries me that people, especially people on ATS, haven't got a clue what News Of The World is or what, in recent weeks, it has come to stand for.

And not being British isn't an excuse.

I agree - I live in Australia and it has been all over the news here, constantly for the last two weeks.

Everyone needs to know what these monsters did.

lol, Likewise.

Then again, I'm pretty far removed from all this media crap any more.
I guess I do read 'a lot' of 'news' online.. but still never heard of it.

"a tabloid"..
yeah, what a thing to focus on and know about!
Im ashamed of myself for not knowing what it is!

Allegedly did...

Good for LulzSec, love these cyber activist guys, with people like this around hopefully whistleblowers won't need to die anymore!

I really like the fact the Guardian has covered this, in recent years this paper has carried on increasing it's boldness of character, they have covered Bilderberg, Wikileaks to name a couple and continue to report things other papers wash over.

Interesting...LulzSec is back in action aye? Haven't heard much from them in a while. I thought they had packed up shop, and they were only operating for a few months in order to make some sort of point.
