I agree the anti religion bus has been old for a very long time. It's odd that it didn't point out that a lot of the Muslim population goes to prayers every day. So it's analogy much like every thing else it believes is nonsense.

The problem is they no longer have a rationalization ability. It is what they are told to believe, think, do, say, vote etc that matters to them. I am sure those here trying the what made them do it line are the same ones who would slash your tires if you are against abortion.

Maybe the crying is a little unnecessary but there are consequences to peoples actions. By giving this kind of trash a pass only perpetuates the problems. What they were doing to this child was worse than outright murder.

If the Police had not discovered her, it's almost certain this child would have died.

They found human remains on the property, it seems they have killed before.

Realistically, people like this are NOT going to change or reform. They will be dangerous to others until they die.

Why waste taxpayers' money to keep these #%*# alive? Our prisons are already too overcrowded.

Am I the only one who thinks the Eye for an Eye system comes up short for serving true justice? I mean, if someone initiates the act of gouging out my eye, why would it be fair for them to lose only one eye? So now we're equal? No; I didn't go out of my way to screw someone's life up, they should be punished for twice their crime committed, not just simply putting us on an equal basis.

2 eyes for an eye, and now we're talking.

Now in the case of these sick, depraved subhumans... with the circumstances of a child victim, a punishment more than 10x that of the crime committed would only be fitting.

The church attendee facade, hm? I am christian, though, I do not believe everyone who calls themself that or those that I just *SEE* in church.

There are a lot of sick people out there. You have no idea. When I was in foster care, I found out just how many people had serious issues. I had physical containment when I was with my real father.. but the mental cage my foster mother put me in was so much worse. It affected me for life. The values many parents have for raising children is atrocious. Sad to say, it's worse in some countries than others. Like the U.S.A.

I hope this child finds a halfway decent home after this. Like I said.. I'm a bit jaded.. I don't have the highest hopes that she will find the perfect home after this. Group homes and foster homes can be just as vile.. and worse in some ways.

This is beyond barbaric. My heart goes out to the poor girl. Hopefully she'll find a good home which will feed her and treat her like a human being. She's still young so it *may* not have a scarring impact on her. We can only hope.

While it is true that none of these techniques have worked to rid the human race of this type of behavior, what would you suggest for an alternative?

I am not advocating torture of the perpetrators of this heinous act, mind you. But time and time again I see people argue that we need to understand a cure these types of people. How does this prevent someone else from committing a horrific act like this in the future?

No matter how many laws we pass, or how many criminals we rehabilitate, we can not prevent these kinds of acts from happening.

Our best bet, with proof from history, is that deterrence is the most effective way to prevent crime in the first place. How much deterrence is needed? I have no idea. I do not claim to have all the answers. All I know is that if you make the punishment severe enough, fewer people will entertain the thought of doing something this terrible in the future.

I agree that torturing the parents will not help that little girl, but no punishment we inflict on those parents will.

There are no easy answers in a case like this.
