So you know he hasn't done anything of value over the last two years?

How many orphans have you taken in? Perhaps you'd care to list your good deeds of the last 24 months.

You Christians have a lot of nerve slamming him for this claiming that he is doing this to poke fun or mock religions. You are simply getting all whiny and defensive over this due to having your fragile beliefs threatened.

Honestly, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is about 10 times more reasonable of a belief than the idiotic christian FAIRY TALE stories.

Let me start by saying - dude. Not cool. I am by no means a religious person, but I don't think saying it's idiotic is a mature move.

How do you know he hasn't?

I really do not understand the criticism here about this, he was standing up for the individuals rights?
Yes it is a light hearted mickey take on the dogma of organised religion, not hatred.

Let's face the Spagetti Monster being inebriated at the time of creation is a logica answer to why the world is so chaotic'

Someday there will be a simple monk of the Pastafarians. He will demand reforms from the Spaghetti church. He will nail paper to a door. They will threaten to excommunicate him and send him running naked into the desert chanting "Rachel Ray". By the power of holy semolina, He will establish his own church, the church of fettuccini. There will be wars and rumors of wars. The Spaghetti Pope will call fettuccini a heretic and demand an inquisition. From the middle east will come a new church, the church of the cous cous and there will be infidels and crusades. Women will be in charge in the middle east and the men will be forced to wear burlap bags over their heads. Rivers of sauce will flow. Italian-Americans will call it "Gravy"...

MAY THE SEMOLINA BE WITH YOU. Peace through our Lord Pasta, who lives and reigns with you in unity with the holy semolina. One Pasta, for ever and ever. Ahchew.

I had a vision. In up state New York... A simple Vermont farm boy will find plates...dinner plates. On the dinner plates will be strange writting. An angel of the Lord Pasta will appear. The angels name is "Macaroni". Macaroni will help the farm boy translate the holy words. They will call the farm boy Prophet. He will establish his own church and he will marry many, many women. He will invent the holy sacrament of "Viagra"....

This has made my day. Anything to mock religion (which is a mockery of life) is fantastic, but I hope this is a step to legitimizing Pastafarianism. I need a higher power to join the Masons.

To whomever wrote "3rd party religion",

The stubble boy thing is sad. Such is the nature of TPTB.

Show me he has. I could list out ways I've helped the community in the last two weeks, two years, twenty years but it wouldn't matter to you so why bother. The point is he's wasting everything time and energy on a nonsense issue. Someone figure up how much of taxpayers money he's wasted on his crusade by taking up the time of govt employees.

By some of the replies I see some freaking out because their PROGRAMING is being questioned. They subconsciously know that the installed religion program is just BS designed to keep them in line and to seperate them into divisions easier to control. But the program is reinforced by the desire to be part of a special group. So anything that brings this internal conflict to the surface must not be tolerated. So I ask the religious, an alien lands on earth , how are you going to explain your religion to your extraterrestrial visitor? See my point? Embarrassing.

Down in Pennsylvania, a sect will form. They will keep Pasta plain and simple; never using any modern conveniences to boil their (holy) water. They will grow their own wheat; store it barns they build themselves; mill it; divinely turn it into pasta and serve it to their members by candle light...they will call their hungry masses. Famish.

Glinda, your my very favorite good witch! Pasta bless you! There will be some in the east. They will sit with legs folded and chant,"oh my potato". They will ponder...does the pot of water boil if one does not watch it? Peace to you my Beautiful sister!

Absolutely hilarious. I derive a sick pleasure from the mocking of all religion.

So many people are going to be ashamed at how wise they thought they were when the truth is finally made clear.

Actually, intelligent design should not rely on the bible. If it does you can correct me, but I doubt that it does. In fact, it is perfectly reasonable to allow the hypothesis that there may have been intelligent design. Ever heard of aliens? I thought maybe you would have heard of them, being on ATS and all. Humans can clone animals and make GMO crops. Certainly aliens could engineer a race like ours easily.

Real science isn't afraid of alternate explanations. Real science allows people to take the evidence and decide for themselves. It's more disturbing that atheists would demand that evolution be taught as dogma when it has so many gaps in it.

I strongly doubt you have much fun. You sound completely bitter, like a bitter old 90 year old guy yelling at everyone from his front porch.
What did you win? Everyone knows now you're a bitter old religious nut, believing in fairy tales from the bible and take life too seriously. If anything, you lose. You lose out on all the fun life can bring you and

I beliong to the Pastafarian, i love it. They're the ones who show how stupid and unncessary religions (in my oppinion the worst thing humans ever invented) is.

I'm Christian.. You going to say something snarky to say?

As for Mr. Pasta head.. I personally think he's an idiot.. Why? Because he went through all that to prove a point and came out with his dignity long gone...

Does he really believe in the flying spaghetti monster? No? Then it's not his religion... All he did is make a joke of the first amendment...

I have no problem with people doing things for "Third Party Religions".. What I do have a problem with is people trying to make a mockery of the whole thing.

Because expressing your freedom of speech is "making a joke of the 1st amendment". Like it or not, he is actually expressing something many people across the world wish they could have.

If you're going to give special privileges to organized religions, I don't see why you can't give the same to anyone else with a fringe religion or belief. It's a protest... and the idea of the spaghetti monster, is that no god exists. According to all of you Theists out there, being an Atheist is a religion - Why did that suddenly change?

His dignity gone? It looks like a hat, and it isn't covering his face. He is probably a local celebrity among the non-religious crowds.

My spaghetti hat is off to this man.

This guy's point ws to poke fun at the unfair laws regarding acceptance of one religion over another. Why the hell couldnt he wear the strainer on his head in the first place?

As far as ID for a license is concerned:
You see his hair color, you see his eyes and facial structure as well as bust.
Shouldnt that be all that counts. Let him wear an anvil if he wants, just as long as we see the key features.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that those who champion intelligent design believe that the universe was created by Slartibartfast or someone like him? Real science is not afraid of alternative theories, we can agree on that, the difference is that they remain theories until there is some empirical evidence. Religion is based on faith alone there is no evidence, none and until there is it should remain a personal preference with an equal preference for all other belief's

ID would be a theory, just like Big bang is a theory. I think you are confusing ID with some sort of undercover term really meaning religion in disguise. I agree that there are some that use it as an excuse to have it taught in school with the hidden agenda of it pointing towards their particular theology. I think the point that Observer was making is a very valid one, I personally believe in ID but that does not make me a Christian or Muslim or whatever as I am far from it. The fact that Christians tend to hijack ID for their own purposes does not mean ID shouldn't be something to think about, nor should it mean that ID is somehow connected to religion.

As far as it being taught in school, I am mixed about that. The reason is that it depends how it was taught obviously because of the subject matter and how it is often tied to believing that the Intelligent Designer is really "God" (loaded term) undercover or something (it could very well be or not). If it was taught as a theory, with counter arguments then I would be all for it as long as it was taught along side orthodox or modern theory. More time should be spent on modern cosmology, with smaller time allocated to ID as an alternative theory.
