I didn't see this post any where yet, I believe that this is the right sport. I know that there are a lot of his fans here so....

Rep. Ron Paul (R) of Texas says he will not run for reelection to Congress so he can concentrate on his third, and presumably final, run for president.

“Big news! I have decided not to seek reelection for my House seat in 2012 and will focus all of my energy winning the presidency,” Paul said.

All I can say is thank god he isn't running again after this. His crazy antics will finally be over.

Well he's been in Congress for a long time so he's probably tired of it.

He had a good run.

Crazy antics? You say it like he is a nutter...

I suppose you don't consider the theft of our economy, hijacking of our legal system and genocide to be crazy antics then?

What exactly do you consider crazy antics?

Please do list them...

I have read 3 of his books and think he is a great man who tells it like it is... whether its a popular opinion or not, it is the truth

Regardless, there is one "crazy" man who will have my vote. I can only hope he has enough votes to win when the time comes. We need him badly, and hes the only one I find can help get us out of this hole we've allowed to be dug under us. Go Ron!

The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers. On the contrary, our Founders’ political views were strongly informed by their religious beliefs. — Ron Paul

The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. — Ron Paul

We can just with those two since it's a good lead off.

Explain away

Those are two historically accurate quotes.

As I said we are just ramping up

Didn't want to throw you guys curve balls before you've warmed up

Through perverse court decisions and years of cultural indoctrination, the elitist, secular Left has managed to convince many in our nation that religion must be driven from public view. The justification is always that someone, somewhere, might possibly be offended or feel uncomfortable living in the midst of a largely Christian society, so all must yield to the fragile sensibilities of the few. The ultimate goal of the anti-religious elites is to transform America into a completely secular nation, a nation that is legally and culturally biased against Christianity. — Ron Paul

You sure say a lot on the ATS forums... Without really saying anything at all.

Troll posts, 2000 and counting.

Like someone already pointed out, both those quotes are historically accurate. Back in the day of the founding fathers more focus was put on religion. I don't see Ron Paul backing up his words about the past by saying we need to return to rigid religious focus.

Without knowing the full context of those quotes it is extremely hard to judge the full meaning of them. Nice try tho.

Ron paul is a man of principles.

He puts the principle before himself. He is speaking on the behalf of the ideals he believes in, which resonate with the founding fathers. His ideas and thoughts are predictable only to others who follow the same principles, but are "Crazy antics" to those who follow a different thought process.

“You wanna get rid of drug crime in this country? Fine, let’s just get rid of all the drug laws.”

Yes that makes sense. If you have no drug laws of course there will be no crime related to drugs.

All he saying is that there is a group of people on the left that are biased against Christianity, and wish to force their views on the whole country.

I don't see Ron Paul condemning or praising either side. He stated a fact, nothing more.

You can take many, many, many quotes from many, many, many people and make them appear out of context quite easily. I'm glad you are learning so much from the MSM on how to discredit people!

“I would start with the departments. . . the Department of Education, the Department of Energy,Department of Homeland Security. . .”

So he's just going to start elimination all these departments without even thinking about possibly reviewing ways to improve them or to make them efficient.

On if he would abolish the IRS:

“Immediately!”

Yea don't forget to lump this one in their too. Hey let's just abolish the whole federal government while we're at it.

Why are you responding to me? I thought you said I was a troll. And I asked if someone wanted some quotes and that's all i'm doing is throwing some quotes out there. Never said if I was for or against him. Merely responding to a request.

go away

Current drug laws in every country on the planet are unlawful.

If I want to drink battery acid that's my right, so is shooting up, and smoking bowl after bowl.

Ron Paul knows this, he knows that something can be lawful and made illegal and something legal can be unlawful.

Keep your eyes wide shut kro32. Waking up requires acting like a grown up.
