It will be hunger, first. Then those that have lost or are losing their homes will live in surplus military tents or worse. Then no transportation of any kind - never mind you won't be able to legally travel. It's going to be a mess-no doubt.

The net is just a distraction anyways, look around you.

If the internet were as insignificant as you claim, governments wouldn't need a kill switch.

Didnt say it was insignifcant,I was stating the way the average person uses it on a dialy, its a distraction.
When it can be used for something good, its of use.
Beyond that, its to keep the masses distracted.

I don't pretend to know the potential repercussions, both positive and negative, of this plan.

What I do believe, however, is that we have come to a nexus point in our culture - let me tell you why. I just turned 50. I have worked in upper management for several companies until health issues forced my withdrawal from the workforce over ten years ago. My efforts secured wealth for a very few. I saw the "Enron mentality" long before the world was "shocked" to discover these corporate misdeeds. I raised several children, on my own, who are now grown men. My first grandchild is almost two. I grew up in a "typical" middle class family. And what I see quite clearly is that the future of my sons and grandchild will not be secured through the methods and cultural infrastructure of my youth - those opportunities are long gone. TPTB are intent, whether by design or paralysis, on supporting the wealthy and powerful.

I don't know what will shake things up enough to renew and fulfill the promise my generation owes to the next generations - world war, natural disaster, apocalypse, etc. - but I do see both computer technology and art as the realm of a generation who must make their way in this world by a new playbook.

I have become so heartbroken over the greed and hypocrisy that are driving our culture to the edge of the cliff. The one thing I believe in with all my heart is the ability of the young to see, and demand, a better world for themselves.

So, please, everyone continue to debate the way to accomplish this! Just don't expect that the rules for success taught by, and to, my generation (study, be good, work hard and you will have success) work any longer. They are artifacts of a bygone era.

I'd rather just stay out of their way...
I'm not smart enough to assist them and I'm not stupid enough to cross them so I'll just stay in my corner and hope for the best.

On September 11, 2001, 2 aircraft flew into the world trade centers, 1 hit the pentagon and 1 made a hole in the ground in Pennsylvania. American lives were lost in all 3.

Slightly more than a month later, America lost its constitution, now a (so) called Patriot Act took its place and is still our defacto constitution. It is worse than anything the Nazi regime could ever envision. Americans no longer have any bill of rights.

We are now treated just like the terrorists that allegedly caused all this. We are each humiliated before boarding an airplane by overzealous agents of a paranoid government that can and will do anything to its own citizens supposedly to stop "terrorism".

Americans are subjected to warrantless search and seizures, warrantless arrests with no reprecussions to the arresting agency. We are less free now than we were on September 10, 2001.

Americans are way less free than before.

What else can we do about it?

What will you do about it?

Nice post. Sweet stuff there truth soldier.

You know what's funny? Me and my ladyfriend, when we are watching an movie or TV, we call out "towers!" whenever we see the twin towers of WTC. It's a funny thing, because when we do it, we understand what it means, because they're in a lot of movies. and it is a touchstone for everyone in the world who was on Earth that day.

So from the first minute, I have always held the same answer to 9/11 and that is, build them again. and people say to me, "How silly! They were eye sores, yadda yadda!" and I say to them "It's principle dude, nobody knocks down our stuff, we build it bigger with frikking rocket launchers on it this time! Cost us half as much and we'll make it 10x better with frikking waterslides and base jumping from the top or at least a roller coaster between the two towers. And I would sure as frack put in giant fireman's poles so that everyone can get streetside with quickness if some freedom hatin, wife enslavin bastids try to mess with us again!" ...Such are the conversations I have with people.

But really, I think the point is that we did not rebuild the towers, because the powers that built them, intended for them someday, to come down. They were a boondoggle, empty for the duration of their life until right before the event when tenants and sacrifice were needed. So Osama's planes were idealized way back in the 60s, and only later did they build the towers which would be sacrificed to them. The proof that I am right, rests in the truth that they are still smoking craters, gapps where two wonderfully amazingly tall teeth were knocked out. They are meant to remain as wounds, never healing. You see? The towers were meant to go away and leave a wound, and that is why we are forbidden from rebuilding them, though it would cost not too many millions to do so and would rejuvenate the nation. I would suggest some politician run on the "rebuild the towers" platform and find out how powerful the upswell would be. But dammit, I want WTC towers mark II to be wonderfull garden-habitat at low cost to the tenants, with a rollercoaster, waterslide, and firemans poles to bail out. Anything less and it's crap.

If nothing else, Anon will bring about faster change. Which is the last thing TPTB want.

If you toss a frog into a boiling pot of water he'll jump out. But if you put him in some cold water and slowly turn up the heat, his brain cells will die from the heat before he ever realizes he's in danger.

The same thing with the internet kill switch. If it happens tomorrow, there will be an uproar. But if you slowly close down sites, restrict access and start making even searching for something a crime...

I hear ya man... I too feel somewhat the same way...

I tend to lean towards Anon is its own entity and not gov... They are pushing too hard for basic rights, and also getting people to learn to be self sufficient, growing your own garden, moving away from FIAT and into precious metals etc... Great message IMO... its what I have been doing myself

Since ive been checking into anon and watching alot of their vids... I finally watched V for Vendetta a week ago, and have seen it 5+ times already! New favorite movie of mine... Also want a few Guy Fawkes masks!
just wish I had a local place I could purchase it with cash and remain ANONYMOUS...

To me, the net is progression of our species. Other planets have similar devices im sure. I could write a book but im sure youve heard it all before. Its not to keep anybody distracted. Its a collection of servers linked together storing 1s and 0s thats all. Not everything is part of a maniacal scheme.

Sorry for having an opinion tho, next time ill stick to the script. Im gonna go play farmville for hours.

If there is a mall near you, check out Spencer’s. They can get ‘em for you.

I too, liked V for Vendetta. A entertaining yet thoughtful movie.

These people are crazy. Lets take a look at what they have done. They took a movie from hollywood which isn't real and said we can do this. These people are leading people into a war they can not win.

I geuss thats what gets me most about this video its just simply unoriginal taking other peoples work and using it just to get an arousal out of a few people. Yet they want me to be creative and put up graffity, lame idea in my opion.

Does anybody know what there plan is once they are done messing around with electronics? Like when the real war starts and they see wars are fought with guns and booms of all sorts, what is their plan?

Oh, their plan is by then we will have control of you and you will fight for us, and then they show the video clip with the citizens walking right past the millitary and "winning". They forgot to explain that will not happen a real war.

Maybe they want an army of mindless people.

Hiding behind computers linked to the internet through proxies, in complete anonymity and staging DDoS attacks and random hacking of networks, servers and websites is your definition of HAVING BALLS??

Please, you can't be serious, can you?

You people really need to spend a LOT more time offline.

It seems that Anonymous has had an interesting side-affect, they are contributing to the demasculinization of the American male.

The geeks become warriors and even heroes!

No balls required, just a few skills, lots of free time, a good computer and OS and hey... You too can grow a pair and save the world!

The Internet kill switch does not exist. It would be logistically and economically impossible to do so. There is no one main line providing access there are multiple access points connecting to a large web of servers. There are multiple providers who would lose $$$ if the internet was unplugged. Companies who utilize the web extensivly would loose business time and time is money. Your internet is safe.

This just needs to be repeated. Anon will give the administration ALL the ammo it needs to enforce draconian rule on the internet.

Agreed. At first I thought Anonymous might be the real deal, but I'm not 100% sure they could exist under the circumstances that they do. IMO, the government/powers that be would have snuffed these guys out a long time ago. Which is why I believe they are a shill, like you guys say, to give ample reason for censoring the internet.
