To me, God is nothing more than a concept in the religious sence.
Men need guidance, men seek guidance, so off we go.
The earth that feeds us, obviously isn't enough, not the sun whom's light brings life, not the water of the ocean nor the moon that washes the water.
"There must be more than this" has been the eternal question while we fight for more, fight for power, fight for our version of truth, fight for possesion, surpress others, rule over others, and always seek for more.

Ah, I see some truth in what you're saying; through the ages their has been violence and attempts of control via religion. But in the case of Christianity [though i'm sure other belief systems employ this as well] if you follow it in the truest since, you wouldn't kill/war in the name of god in the physical sense, this is condemned by Christ.

But why does one needs to follow

I'm sure Muslims will say exactly the same

Many people, before, now and in the future, know the answer.
The answer of everything is just inside of you and some time all around you. You don't need to be spiritual, philoshe, intellectual or the genius of the century to grasp the truth.
The truth is egoless therefore when you get it, you don't care any more if people know it or if you have to tell them.
In all fairness the simple answer must be the only one.

Maybe that's an/the answer? Then again, maybe not! Usually it's just exasperation because uncovering mysteries can be a great deal of backtracking after seemingly getting somewhere.

A better guide might be: One must not lust for answers. and a corrolary: Prepare to unlearn.

Yes i would.
And i will!!!

Throw everything out, Every 'Thing'!
Throw it all out!
And when you have thrown it all out, every 'thing'.
What remains is the answer.

Namaste.

Oh, there IS an answer, but the ones who know it don't want to say anything because it's so simple that others would probably laugh. If you make it your mission to tell everyone they definitely won't believe. So it's pointless. I (and the people who know) would rather LIVE the answer than to try to convince others. All is well so it doesn't matter if you never figure it out... if you did, it would be so obvious and feel like useless information anyway. The grass is always greener on the other side....

Some of you who don't know the answer are already LIVING it, even though you don't know it, and those who don't, even they have moments when they LIVE in the answer, so it's all good, it really is....

The truth is (so to speak) that largely everything we know (I'm being generous here) about our universe, the nature of reality, consciousness (in other words everything we are, were, will be) is based on conjecture, suspicion, theory or some combination of these. Otherwise there would be no more discoveries. No new theories. No ideas or concepts or imagination. Nothing at all.
So, considering that, would you tell anyone if you had the answer?

First of all, we have to remember that no matter how smart we think we are, we're really not all that much more than proudly, arrogantly ignorant. This truth is best displayed by those who claim to know and those who then follow to deny that knowledge. The believer and the skeptic both suffer from the delusion that they have something the other does not... the ability to be right.

Historically, we know that just prior to the Wright Brothers' first powered flight in 1903, several mainstream scientists issued a paper stating that heavier-than-air powered flight was simply impossible. before that, the newly invented train engine was feared because there was a belief that travelling faster than 45 mph would cause your skin to fly off your bones. And we all know about the Earth being flat and the center of the universe...

So, in each age, the arrogance manifests itself in our certainties and proclamations. The lesson that SHOULD be learned; that we are not nearly as smart as we think we are, is repeatedly ignored.

Are you smart enough to KNOW that God either does or does not exist? That UFOs are real or contrived? That life after physical death is a fact or fallacy?

In answer to your question... no, because I don't think that any of us, myself included, will ever have all the answers to any one question or to any major truth that can't be challenged by someone else just as dumb as we are.

As such, I will offer my opinion, like I am doing here and now... but qualify it as only that; my opinion. You may accept or decline at your leisure.

Well I guess I'll kill this thread by giving you the answer...that's what usually happens and it is really beginning to freak me out.

The answer has been told by many teachers, some honest and direct, some by weaving parables to help the Children understand....

In my personal experience, when most people are told "the secret", they tend to blank out and try to change the subject. God forbid they are religious.....because you will have just lost a friend if you tell them. Only the few who have searched inside their souls seem to actually accept the Truth.

The answer is incredibly simple and elegant, as is the solution to many complex problems ends up being.

To put it simply as possible-

You Are God.

You are ALL THAT THERE IS.

Always have been, always will be.

No matter how many "lifetimes" your ego tries to ignore the fact- sooner or later ALL OF YOU will reach this wonderful conclusion. The you can climb out of the hamster wheel that is this dimension and move up to the next level.

Imagine God as the Librarian in his own infinite library- and each catalog card is one of you...or a planet, or a microbe...or a Universe!

You decide to pick a card and play it like a game. And as you make the decision and move into that role, the veil of forget falls over you. Sometimes, if you are extremely lucky it seems, you may find a "cheat code", or a "Get out of Jail Free" card while in the middle of the Game- and you REMEMBER WHO YOU REALLY ARE.

You find yourself on your knees...with your mouth hanging open.....eyes bugged out and tears streaming down your face in total and complete AWE as you REMEMBER that You are God.
And you feel as if you have finally COME HOME.

That is what true Awakening or Spiritual Enlightenment was like- at least for me. YMMV. Depending on your belief system your experience may differ.

Now - Can you see how being too religious can stop you from Awakening? OMG! Blasphemy! HOW DARE YOU have the balls to say that you are GOD? You will Burn in Hell! Yea Right.

Ok fine....those people can continue worshipping and praying to an external God- hope it works out for them. This is where the "pearls before swine" analogy comes in. 99% of people you meet would have you locked away before even entertaining the IDEA that you may be telling the Truth.

The Ego is SO STRONG!
It wants nothing more than to continue on it's mission to TOTALLY CONTROL you thoughts. and therefore your LIFE. With it's whining about money and health and vanity and never being satisfied with anything. It's a spoiled brat who needs to be spanked sometimes so that your TRUE SELF can come out and PLAY!!!

And when an Awakening does happen?
Trying to integrate it back into "normal life" can be a bitch. The Ego has to be soothed after it's spanking and it will slowly try to re-exert it's power over your soul. You will doubt your Self and think maybe you are just crazy. You will dive into books and websites and hopefully fing the few that actually tell the truth and aren't just out to sell you something. And when you do find others whos experience was identical to your own- you at least can rest in the knowledge that you are not alone. There are other fragments of your God Self who have, are, and will continue to Wake Up.

And maybe when we as ONE reach a critical mass this whole Reality will shift into the Glory that is the next level of God. And we can joyfully absorb as much Glory as our soul can contain as we continue to forever expand outward...remembering more and more as we continue exploring our Self for Eternity.
As Martha would say- It's a Good Thing.

Hope this helps someone.

Namaste-

Consciousness is neither facts nor thoughts.
It is a feeling.
That feeling is the search, which is the avoidance of relationship to reality, or
the alternative which is,
the Understanding of the Search,
which is Reality,Real Intelligence,Love/Bliss/Fullness.
That is the answer, believe it or not.

Sorry Kacau- it's just that many times I've had threads die once "God-Mode" comes up in conversation.
Even though most religions tell you this fact most people can't handle it and close and lock their doors as if a plague victim was coughing his way down the street.

Sometimes the Truth hurts if it knocks out a pillar of one's long standing "faith".

Personally I'll take direct experience over faith any day Thank You!

Consciousness is the consciousness of humanity, not my own consciousness which is filled with what humanity through the ages has gathered as knowledge.
We are educated with that gathered knowledge, based on physical facts, math, and theoretical ideas about gods and creators, systems and so on.
We as humanity add more and more to the field of consciousness, by our progression, our discoveries and our ideas, and we pass them on to the next generations.
So that makes us just a copy, second hand, and there are millions of copies, identifying themselfs with what they are taught to be, and what/who they think they are.
Consciousness, is what we are conscious of, or not, knowing or unknowing.

I really like the phrase, Reality,Real Intelligence,Love/Bliss/Fullness, for i know it is so.

But one needs a pure mind to recognize it, if it is put in words and passed on as a teaching, it becomes an empty phrase.
My answer would only polute ones mind, there are no real answers, only the recognition of the sacred mind itself.
My guess is that the word is intuition, instead of feeling, although many will describe it as a feeling

The answer is:
End materialism.

The answer is structured Infinite. The instant infinite enters the realm of finite, drawn here by our consciousness, the Answer becomes a metaphoric shadow, contaminated. To pass a metaphoric shadow between two finites does not mean that on the receiving side, the now finite shadow will transform back into Infinite. It will not.

Each spirit must do the labor themselves to attain the Answer. No one can tell anyone anything where it will produce the intended effect. The Answer must enter the individual through the Transformation Device/Being, existing half within spacetime as finite (the Door we can recognize), half at the "right Hand" in the Infinite (the other side of the same Door).

No man can do this without the Go-between.

No.....a person is smart, but humanity as a whole is "not really bright" (I want to say more than that but I would be banned for saying so).
If I told people, I would either turn into a:

1) Nutjob; I've already had....so I dont need one.
2) Prophet; I ultra super seriously dont want it, I dont want to be another @#$% on the block, being talked about on ATS and/or exaggerated in some fantasy book ages later.
