One thing is certain, noone here has THE ANSWER.

And don't say "42" lest I flail you with an extended instrument! Wait, who said "42"?>!>!>E#

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

A student asked his master "The hills and horizon flow freely like body of the Buddha, Isn't that right master?" the master with shame in his expression replied "Yes... But it is a shame to say so"

No. Few, if any, would.

We can clearly see the results of truth in the hands of persons who seek truth for their own power, at the expense of others. Truth must be withheld from some to protect others.

As for the God question I reason is implicit in the original question-- there is a difference between human seeking and finding truth and being the Author of truth.

Good and thought provoking question.

I've always figured that if someone were to discover the answer to that question that they'd be hit by a bus or they'd be struck by lightening, or whatever. They'd be removed from the playing field.

If you figure out the answer to the game, you can't tell anyone else.

It would violate the rules of the game.

I'd tell. Why not? What I've learned is that if what you've got to teach clashes with what people want to learn, then you can offer the secrets of Heaven and Hell to everyone, free of charge, and no one will bother to even pay attention to you.

Human beings only want to have their beliefs validated. They really don't want to learn anything new. Especially people who have a deep interest in the specific topic being examined. Those people really don't want any new information if it's not a new argument for their own cherished beliefs. They'll actually get angry at your attempt to teach them what you've discovered.

So, sure, why not tell everyone? It's the best way to keep it secret.

No one would believe the answer if one knew it and decided it was their responsibility to tell others what it was.

Each individual must seek the answer with in themselves with all that is available to them.

It depends on if you want to find the answer.

If I had the Answer, I would guide others toward finding it - not spoon-feeding it to them because that would defeat the purpose of discovering the Answer in my opinion.

I'm going to stop right there and agree with you. The rest of that crap....let's just pretend it never happened. Okay?

You know what NorEaster? If this were your thread I would never have even posted, if that says anything about how I feel about your thoughts; so to call my thoughts crap, well that just puts you right in there with the Stink now doesn't it?

Well, I suppose it does, now doesn't it.?

It's kinda cozy in here. Was that indended or did I just get lucky?

The problem is the answer is known, but it's so uncompelling, people will reject it and continue searching through dead-ends.

If You Had the Answer, Would You Tell Anyone?,

What would be the point? No One would believe you and there would be those out there that would want you dead just for knowing that Answer. So, the my answer is "NO".

Maybe there aren't any answers.

I would tell the world.

The main question I would ask is how would I tell it? Well I'd put it in a book and sell it. Then I would also wait to release this book at a time and in a way that would change the fabric of politics. Also considering that I "had the answer" people would purchase the book in order for me to philosophize upon other great mysteries of the universe and world and would eagerly await what else I had the "answers" too.

Assuming that God created everything, and the only way we can formulate ideas is because he provided brains for us, God would be the route of everything therefore the answer to everything. To understand the answer, at least by our finite means, one would need to read his Word.

I believe that if God created the answer then the answer is apart of him, therefore seeking God would be the same as seeking the answer in that context. Your thoughts?

Always reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "Need to Know" - a guy was told 'the answer' by a Tibetan monk. Only, if you heard it, it was at once so obvious and so awful that you went insane on the spot, but not before you told the next few people. Eventually, one of the people with the answer got to a radio station...
