Just to point out one of my favourite thoughts... in an infinite universe there are an infinite number of possibilities. All of us are guilty at times of thinking logically from our own perspective, it is a human trait. We wonder why the people in [insert country or city] behave like [insert animal/racial slur]. we don't think outside the box. For years we have presumed life needs certain conditions to survive. We are now disproving that on our own planet, in the high pressure and temp environments of deep sea ocean vents. We presume life needs [insert any one of our needs]. The truth of the matter is... we know jack poo. to steal War of the Worlds closing statement and try and pass it off as fact is immature at best(don't feed the troll). Have you not seen the tricorders in star trek?
Any race capable of travelling here would be light years(purposeful fail, I know a light year is not a time measurement) ahead of us. The reason the martians didn't win in war of the worlds is because their technology was not that far advanced from ours, we could build a death ray, if somewhere had enough oil to warrent the outlay.

But light years are a time measurement....

Measurements of distance vs time is always a measurement of time. It's also always a measurement of distance. It's both.

(It can be converted to time traveled by any other object and rationalizing the time comparatively.)

I.E. By revolutions of the earth.

Sometimes sarcasm is quite funny. Thanks for the chuckle.

However, I fully support the notion that we are the aliens, we are still trying to find ourselves.

Look for the alien within!

Really? What if these "aliens" are the exact same as us? God did create us in their image.

you watch too much War Of The Worlds
but I doubt they couldn't live here if they wanted to, I just simply believe they do not wish to, as you should know there has been multiple sightings of Aliens on Earth without being in any space ship or protective suits

You make it sound so simple, but you haven't taken into context how advanced these Aliens might be. If a space faring Alien race can tap the power from black holes, travel faster than light & has been travelling thoughout space and other dimensions for millions of years, I very much doubt Earth's bacteria would pose much of a problem.
They probably also make good use of robots & androids to do all their dirty work.

Here's an article that puts a spanner into what you believe.

We are from Mars.
abcnews.go.com...

Surely Earth's bacteria would have ganged up and killed those Martian critters.

There is only ONE reason why.

Here it is.

They are unable to live on earth as microscopic bacteria, of which they have no immunity to, kills them.

There. I have finally revealed the reason why. So everyone can all go about their normal business and forget about aliens.

So just to re-iterate:

They the aliens are unable to live on earth as microscopic bacteria, of which they have no immunity to, kills them.

Peace unto all....

Fail! There is some evidence www.sciencedirect.com... that either the ingredients for life or some early microbial life form was implanted on earth by a meteorite or something of that ilk.
If the latter is true, then the likelihood of microbial life on other planets, even the home planet of said aliens, is quite high. The earth certainly can't be the only planet suitable for life if life came from outside the earth to begin with.
If the former is true then could the earth be the one lucky shot in the entire universe where the precursor carbon based molecules landed in the perfect environment for allowing the chemical processes to take place to then eventually form life?

Either we are alone, or we are not. If aliens (how many different alien races are there? and how many could have visited us?) came here and died due to our "inhospitable environment", would they return?. Or did they tell their other alien buddies not to bother with the deadly blue planet?

Either we are the only planet with life or there is/was life elsewhere in the universe, and it is/was likely to have bacteria too.

Sorry, that was a book/movie called War of the Worlds. You need to learn the difference between FACT and FICTION. If aliens do indeed exist and they have traveled the stars, im pretty sure they are aware of the bacteria on earth.

First topic I read, first topic I'm gonna shoot down using reasoning...
Nothing personal, but that theory does not make any sense at all in my opinion.
* repeats everything other ATF users said about War of The Worlds *

I quote...
"They are unable to live on earth as microscopic bacteria, of which they have no immunity to, kills them."
End of quote.

Humans do not have immunity nor a cure at the moment for AIDS and some other deseases.
Therefore the microscopic bacteria of which we do not have immunity to, kills us humans. (Yep, you know where I'm going)

Conclusion: Humans are not able to live on earth.

Thanks for trying, sir.

You would think that a civilization capable of inter-stellar travel could come up with antibiotics. At least some aspirin and Nyquil.

Maybe that's why they abduct rednecks; maybe moonshine is like penicillin for them. I know if I visit an alien planet, they better have coffee and tequila or I won’t survive.

If coffee and tequila is what you need, there is no reason for you to visit another planet. You already got that here.

Your most likely rite, although id say without the scientific evidence this cannot be proven, but, it has been rumored or shall i say "reported" by millitary officials and witnesses that most ET's found at crash sites where dead and some barely alive and attempts where made to preserve there life, its verry similar for humans when traveling to a foreign country or when we are infected or exposed to a unkown disease or enviroment, our bodies are not able to cope, so imagin being a ET and being bombarded with diseases, microbes and oxygin on earth, it would be a vicious attack on there bodies.BUT! they could travel here if there crafts if they are equiped to travel and provide a life support system or enclosure to travel in to shield them from interstella microbial threats, and they could build bases also to protect them, just like humans would if we traveled to the moon and established bases there, i believe that ETs are already living on earth and mostly under the ocean floor and in underground caves or chasims.

Let's assume for a moment that there are aliens visiting us from other planets and that they are abducting people for hybridization experiments like a lot of people put forth.

You'd think they'd be technologically advanced enough to solve a little problem like bacteria. Maybe they have some really good hand soap.

By the way, I think I saw a UFO here in broad daylight, if anyone is interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

I'm getting the impression you are saying he's likely right about the bacteria theory because ET's found at CRASH sites where bombarded with earthly microbes and bacterias. Am I to understand the crash itself wouldn't have anything to do with it? Or are you saying that those who survived then probably died as a result of earthly microbes and deseases or environment. If not, I do not really see the point of using this argument about ET's found at a crash.
And I'm curious for these "attempts" to preserve their life... How do we know how to "attempt" to save an EBE's life? Most vaccinations contain the actual microbe to trigger the immune system to fight against it.

They are claimed to be able to travel interstellar. If you read all the sightings, abduction, mutilation etc cases its pretty obvious they've got a higher intelligence then mankind... If we can come up with a medicine against flu, I'm pretty sure they can come up with something better to be honest against our bacterias & virusses.

Well, for fear of derailing this very important thread, I'll give the cliffs notes version.

My wife and I were chilin in our back yard last night and a fire bomber flew over. They've been flying past our house all day long for a while between Kirtland and the Las Conchas fire up in Los Alamos area. Largest wildfire in NM history, by the way.

Anyhoo, about the same time, I look a little south and see another bomber flying north toward us. As it flies past, I see this little black thing zipping around. At first I though "bird". I watched it for a while, zipping around, almost stopping, accelerating again, turning this way and that. Then I saw it go into and out of the cloud deck. It was then that I realized it could not have been a bird, unless it was a very large bird with a rocket in its a$$ because it was going way too fast at times. If it were lower, yes, but the cloud deck was at about 10,000 feet AGL yesterday evening - above the bomber which was quite small in the sky. I'd say that it wasn't very big, it was dark in color, and I don't know what it was. My gut tells me it wasn't a bird.

a couple thoughts.

Considering they could be technologically MILLIONS of years ahead of us. They could have devised nanotechnology a million years advanced from anything we can imagine. That means probably through nanobots in their systems, they hav immunity to pretty much any bug that lives on the planet.

Also if you subscribe to the theory of panspermia, all those bacteria and bugs on Earth may not BE from Earth, so they may already have some degree of immunity to them.

OR their biochemistry may not be at all compatible with ours, meaning the bugs/bacteria couldnt interact with their biochemistry. Like an oyster trying to mate with a hummingbird so to speak.

So they could still be here.
