Now, he is already a homeowner and was trying to pay off his car??

In Auburn, WA, Ikenna Njoku — a 28-year-old construction worker and homeowner — was planning to use his first time home buyer tax rebate to pay off his car. He arranged to have the rebate check deposited directly into his Chase Bank account. When the rebate check arrived, the bank mailed him a cashier’s check for $8,463.21.

Except, this proves exactly what??? That the branch exists??? So what?

A question was asked and they hung up. Ok...what am I missing that makes this proof of anything???

Weed Wacker should get a golden star for his/her detective work

What did he "detect?" He looked up the phone number for the bank and called it and they hung up when he asked them a question. How is this of any significance?

I guess on the bright side his suing the teller the bank and the PD should amount to significantly more than $8,000.

Never ceases to amaze me how little information is needed (and how none of it needs to be true) to completely ruin or even kill another human being.

why are the police being sued?

Wasnt it the bank who said he was fraud? The police dont determine whether they're guilty, they simply arrest who they are told broke the law, and the legal system takes it from there

What am I reading? That is totally wrong. They need some kind of proof that he committed a crime in order to arrest him. You seem to be saying someone could just pick a person at random, tell the police that they broke the law, and then the police would just throw them in jail. That is not how it works at all.

Anyway, this story is just bizarre. There absolutely has to be more to it than what we've read in the articles.

LOL!! This is EXACTLY how it works! He was arrested on suspicion of Forgery!

The man got arrested and spent 3 days in jail on false charges for trying to cash a check that was legally his because it "looked fake". Any deviation from this very specific FACT is kind of crazy if you ask me

No, im assuming the bank gave them whatever "evidence" they had for him being a fraud. If they didnt recieve any from the bank, then yes, theyre wrong. Sorry if i wasnt clear, and Im genuinely confused on it, the
wasnt sarcastic

This was in the very first post:

The next day the bank realized their mistake and instead of calling the jail that Njoku was being illegally held in, they called the detective who handled the case who just so happened to have the day off.

Who run the world? BANKS!! (in beyonce voice), you didn't know you get 15 years if you steal $100 (with no gun). Do not get on the banks wrong side. All they have to do is say the word and you are going to jail (no proof needed "give it to us later"). He's lucky they didn't foreclose on his house while he was in jail.

That's it I'm running for President...my slogan will be NO BANKS AND NO POLICE. Do you think I've got a shot? Maybe in 2020 when the masses will have 20/20 vision on the TRUTH...LOL
