My mistake

I don't really take much notice of human activities. It's like ants in a nest - fascinating for a time then rapidly rather boring and repetitive.

Hold on.

So are you all saying the Sumerians made up Nibiru and Pluto? I mention these both because Sumerians had mapped our Solar System back in 2500 BC, we didnt even discover Pluto until 1930s AD.

Is that what we're doing here? Discrediting an ancient civilization?

They didn't know of Pluto or any of the planets that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Sitchin's entire basis for a 12th planet as well as the Sumerians knowing about the outer planets was Cylinder Seal VA 243. However, it does not depict the solar system and it doesn't even have anything to do with astronomy. The inscription on the seal states, "“Dubsiga, Ili-illat, your servant." In other words Ili-illat is telling Dubsiga that he is his servant. As for the so-called depiction of the solar system, what it actually depicts is stars. We know what the Sumerian symbol for Sun is and it remains constant throughout all of Sumerian history. The symbol Sitchin is claiming is the Sun looks nothing like that symbol. However, it does look like the symbol for star, as do all the other dots. So, not only does this disprove the fact that the Sumerians knew about all the planets in the solar system, it also disproves Sitchin's entire theory.

Schweet. Many thanks, Peace and Namaste.

Another one I can strike off the list.

Wish I had my 20 posts already because I think this news deserves it's own thread. The internet is a wonderful archive tool. The following thread is a story about massive storms on Saturn in April 2009.

sites.google.com...

Now take a look at this link and see where Elenin was in April 2009 - transiting the orbit of Saturn!?!

And if you look at the distances (from elenin to Saturn) on that date and then compare that to the distance from elenin to earth now. You will see that elenin is much closer to earth now, but we are not getting zapped or having weird mega storms.

It's a comet. A big chunk of ice and dirt.

That Elenin website is full of crap. When even a simple term like perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) is confused with perigee (closest approach to Earth), it isn't difficult to deduce that you are dealing with someone who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.

That's a good point Satori. However, I suspect / predict that the "Elenin Effect" will be felt in two ways not related to distance.

1. When Elenin traverses a planets orbit it will interupt/drag on the planets orbital momentum causing atmosperic disturbances, massive storms, tidal waves, earthquakes, etc - like hooking a trailer to your truck.

2. As Elenin aligns between a planet and the sun the planets magnetic field will be interupted causing catastrophic failure and anomolies of all electrically charged geologic or atmospheric occurances - sort of like interrupting or surging a circuit.

Comet Elenin will not affect Earth in any way. Please stop posting rubbish.

Why would Elenin do those things (and not other comets)?
Elenin is not known to be unique, special, or remarkable in any way.

This is nonsense. Clearly the "insider" in the first video you posted knows what he's talking about. We're supposedly seeing "70 pound meteorITES" which is complete and utter malarky. Anyone who knows anything about astronomical terminology knows meteorITES have already landed. And they're only 70 pounds, from a LONG way off we're counting them and all this stuff? No way.

All of the "proof" you have posted is nothing more than verbiage intended to intimidate anyone planning a counterpoint.

Elenin, complete myth and lie.

No Elenin is not a myth or a lie. You can find the damn thing on the JPL website. It exists and it will in fact come within 29 million miles of Earth. Troll more without doing some research. Elenin the name came from the man that discovered it, which did in fact have the last name of Elenin. If you don't think so, go look it up. Does it form an alignment with all of the inner planets of the solar system? yes it does, on 11/11/11 it does. Go look it up if you don't believe me, the orbits are on the JPL website once again, troll.

Anyway, what could potentially be a lie or pure speculation is what it means in terms of the Earth's physical changes. On the information of saturn's storms, I'd like to know whether Saturn has storms like that frequently, because that would be a good indication. Last I heard was that the comet itself was 80,000 km is diameter. is this large enough to cause atmospheric changes 29M miles from the planet?

I find it hard to believe elenin will have any affect on Earth.
Comet Hartley is going around the sun now. Have we witnessed any affects by it?

NEOWISE data show that the golf ball-sized chunks survive farther away from the comet than previously known, winding up in Hartley 2's trail of debris.
[NASA

Even if the tail of elenin is in earth's path, I hardly think golf ball sized debris will any worry.

You heard wrong. Comet Elenin is estmated to be 3-4km in diameter. Its Coma is estimated to be 80,000km in diameter.

Elenin is closer to Earth right now than Mars or Venus is to the Earth, so we should see it if it was a planet.

If it was anywhere near the size of a planet (even a small one like Mars), then it should be a bright dot in the sky. As 'oxbow' said above, Elenin is a small comet, with a nucleus of about 4 km wide.

I see, so you are saying Elenin is not a comet and it is going to defy the laws of physics?
If it is not a comet, what, in your opinion, is it?
If distance is not related, how come the planets are not being effected now?

1. How? You have ruled out both gravity and magnetism, due to your 'not related to distance' comment.

2. How? Explain the science.

Amazing, you say we are not experiencing mega storms. 2011 has been the year for megastorms, in winter, spring, and summer.

You should take a look at just a couple links I'll provide!

www.wired.com...

climate101withjason.blogspot.com...

And that's just a couple here in the U.S.

Come on now...

Yeah 'come on now..' people need to start using common sense and logic. The only thing going to cause chaos on this planet is people jumping to ridiculous, unscientific conclusions based on nothing more than some youtube video or blog post, resulting in silly fear-mongering.

Yes, there have been some big storms in the states. The states always gets big storms, admittedly maybe a bit bigger this year. But they don't compare to Saturn's. They aren't even global storms.

They certainly were not caused by a comet. COME ON NOW!

If they were. why aren't the storms getting worse now that the comet is closer?

Come on now... common sense? Hello??? Beuller....Beuller????

Nothing unusual though. Weather happens every year.

If anything, 2011 has been a bit quiet.

Killer winter storms that blanketed MOST of the U.S., some of the biggest snowfall on record, worst tornado outbreak in history (multiple), epic flooding on Mississippi, Missouri river, worst drought on record for a lot of areas, fires engulfing multiple states, should I keep going?

You can believe what news outlets tell you, but the reality is, something is happening!

And Santori, I never said it was due to a comet, asteroid, or planet. Don't get it twisted pimpin.
