It's up to them, not hard to understand. Perhaps by helping their children be more ready and acceptable for the work place, perhaps integrating into society instead of embracing a failing legacy, you know, common sense things everyone else does.

A UK tory MP once said of the unemployed...get on your bike. I echo these sentiments, but in this case, it is more a case of get on your skateboard and look for work. Quit playing so much basketball and getting wasted on crack, and concentrate on trying to find a 9-5 job, and remember being a pimp is NOT an option.

Some people just cant help displaying their racism. And they wonder why Black people cant find jobs in America!

It’s the racist attitude of people on this thread that creates racial division. Its not the black people who want to be antisocial.

The same racist decadent low-life mentality of the racists on ATS existed long before black people were involved in post modern city life; that because of institutional racism created a culture of crime ridden ghettoes.

You have 100% showed how you are the racist! So we cant dissagree with anything you say without being labeled as the bad guys?
Now that is the evidence of real racism. And that my friend is the kind of racism that is slowly eroding the moral values and free speech of this once great country.

Saying black people shouldn’t want to be pimps, play so much basketball, and smoking crack is racist. Its got nothing to do with agreeing with me.

Statically white people use drugs much more than black people. They invented basketball and there are more white people in prostitution than black people by far.

I did not even mention black people in my post! Did I? Any inference that you see is showing your own conditioning and preconceived notions. Unemployment is a problem across ALL races and is not just the domain of black people or white for that matter. I was merely highlighting stereotypical ghetto culture and trying to point out that some people are their own worst enemies when it comes to being unemployable/unemployed. So please dont throw the race card into an argument just because you cant find something intelligent to say.

I cant say anything intelligent to you because you seem to lack intelligence, and that is what your post seems to illustrate.

You don’t stereotype people like that. Maybe you can do it around your Klan friends, but as long as I am around I wont let you get away with it!

I know hundreds of hard working black kids who work their assess off and are good students and don’t smoke crack, play basketball, and aren’t pimps.
So how dare you stereotype a whole race, and then claim that that isn’t a racist act.

If you wanted to advise black youths on their careers you don’t use stereotypes that degrade their race.

At what point will people stop believing the nonsense they see on tv. Do you honestly think this is the reason why blacks unemployment rate is higher than everyone else? If so you're truly sheltered or in denial about the history of this country. You never did explain what special treatment unemployed blacks received or could receive.

Is it all nonsense, or just based upon your view and experiences? I stand by what I said, education is a big part, so is not naming your child so they fail, the gangster mentality has to go, speaking and acting uneducated just to be accepted by peers......all are very real things and sure don't help their employability. As far as special.............wow, another study just on them, aren't they special. The history of this country has exactly what to do with the nonsense of today? Not a thing, but embracing and exploiting a failed past sure as hell isn't doing anyone any good, especially them.

Yes...as the OP asked, why did they only bother making a racial reference and not a regional reference or anything else for that matter? It is an attempt to ignite internal racial conflict. A distraction.
The truth is that many Americans are hurting economically right now. Those that are not are still living within market bubbles. But even these bubbles are beginning to shrink...and Americans will soon realize the true state of their economy.
It is pitiful that racially motivated news items like this gives the closet racists an excuse to come out. Blacks may also be targetted by this because they will perceive themselves as an excluded group and thus their perception of racism will only be reinforced.

Well yes by all means stand by what you're saying but as a person of color I can honestly say it's hogwash, regurgitation of pure stereotyping from the past.

You raised an interesting point. There lies the reason this country is going the way of the dinosaur. People do not understand actions done two hundred years ago still have the propensity to resonate today therefore the errors of the past must be acknowledged and corrected so as to make them no more.
