How can atheists be so ignorant? First they claim that Jesus never existed now they say that America was not made by religious principles

Then how do you atheists explain:

I am just wondering, were we one nation before the words, "under God" were added? If so, then adding the words really changed nothing. I personally don't believe that we were ever really, "one nation", nor do I foresee us ever becoming one.

It looks to me like America is on the decline, whether this is temporary or the beginning of the end for this country, we can count on the government to start beating the drums of patriotism & nationalism like never before.
Heaven help those that resist the indoctrination.

Sorry...but you seem to be blinded to my purpose...I'm not recruiting anyone or soliciting for any purpose. The choice is YOURS. You can have it. YOUR decision.

Pointing out the way is not recruiting.

I myself, love knowledge and truth. and appreciate it when others point me in the right direction... twd truth and knowledge.
That's just me though! If I don't listen when others are right,,,, I end up regretting it. As I'm sure so many will be having their regrets....

How can you be so ignorant. Atheism is simply lack of belief in a Deity. It has nothing to do with whether a man named Jesus existed or didn't.

If you want to provide real factual proof that Jesus existed - - feel free.

This is by full intention a Secular government. The principles of man do not require a god to be honorable.

The Pledge was written by a Socialist - - who would have been horrified to have God inserted in his writings. Especially since it was inserted for political reasons - - and had nothing to do with religion.

It's not really surprising that this thread has devolved into an argument over whether "under God" should or should not be in the pledge, but unfortunately it shows that everyone is completely missing the most important part of this story and that is that the media is getting more and more blatant about censorship. That the kids sang "under God" in the pledge in this case is a known fact. That NBC knowingly removed the portion of the clip that showed them singing it is also a known fact. This is "censorship", plain and simple. Anyway that denies that should have a look at the definition. Who cares whether "under God" was in the original pledge or not? That's beside the point. The point is that it WAS in the version these kids sang, and it WAS censored out by NBC. I'm sure NBC knew there would be a backlash, but this is just part of the conditioning process, they are testing the waters to see how far they can push censorship.

NBC shouldn't have to apologise; believers are welcome to their God; in their own time.

I see it as recruitment. You are inviting me to let my subconscious mind talk to me unfiltered all the time. I love my subconscious, but he is a little primitive, childlike, and fanciful in his communication. This is a fantastic experience, but I cannot live like that all the time. I would be easily manipulated and unable to stay in control in the current economic environment. Granted, I'd like to spend more time directly linked to my subconscious, but it's just not practical. It is practical when I'm recruiting people to my point of view,. My thoughts and interaction become free flowing. My goal, as a complete person, Is to take society to a point where we all look out for each other and can be in direct communication with our subconscious most of the time.

Of course there's a lot of money to be made from promoting communication of the subconscious. You can easily find religious and new age products.

im not talking a bout a made up history lesson, im talking about my lifetime and the usa i grew up in. it is changing so rapidly that no one is happy with our nation. its bankrupt, corrupt, aithiest, uneducated, unemployed and certainly not united! we are 9 meals from anarchy. let something stop the wheels for a second and we will be like mexico, or the middle east- in chaos. the wrath of God is not what you want in your face. even if you dont believe in him, doesnt mean he isnt watching.

Aha...In this we are alike!! This is what I am trying to do... look out after others and love as HE has loved! Letting Him guide my whole being.....

Good for NBC. Those words were only added during the McCarthy years when people were looking for "Godless commies" under every roof and people felt compelled and were desperate to prove their Americaness out of fear of retribution by a hateful and sinister fear-mongering sect of the American public.

In other words, ADING those words were the apitomy of political correctness and were spawned directly from fascist fears.

As usual, the Right is uninformed and manages to flip the truth around until the real truth is thought a lie and their lies become truth.

It is all false piety coming from the same low information relics that chest beat with all their false patriotism. These poorly informed groups genuinely believe that saying things is enough, it never occurs to them to live as they preach and it shows in their hate, ready judgment of others and their rampant intolerance. The most Christian people I ever meet are invariably athiests or agnostics; these groups have the intelligence and intellecutal curiosity to question and not simply regurgitate things taught them since they were babies. Athiests and agnostics are deliberate thinkers and tend not to go off hal-cocked like the faux Christians. Athiests and agnostics have MUCH HIGHER levels of love and empathy for their fellow man, whereas the modern American Christian spits on the homeless person he steps over, scowls at the poor mother, screams AMEN! every time they hear another Muslim has been killed overseas.

I've alwasy been of the opinion that a country should earn respect from its citizens. It's never given blindly. That's what htey ask when they ask you to pledge allegiance. You know we used to make a sign when we pledged and it was a lot like the kids did in germany. But anyway, if you do say the pledge I hope you really mean it. A guy shouldn't have to say the pledge to prove he has deep respect and love of his country. It's through his actions and commitment.

Remember it's hard to gain respect and trust, but easy to lose them.

So much easier just to encourage blind faith, you see? The pledge is just one nail in the coffin.
