I'm losing count here, what's the score? Stewart: 100, Faux News: 0?

You'd think at some point Faux News would realize that it's probably not a good idea to have Stewart on the show. They're running the risk of having the sheeple wake up and change the channel to comedy central, or even turn the TV off.

The irony is that Comedy Central is a more reliable source for information than Faux News...

"You're insane," Stewart charged. "Here is the difference between you and I. I'm a comedian first. My comedy is informed by an ideological background. No question about that. The thing that you will never understand and things that conservative activists will never understand is Hollywood, yeah, they're liberal. But that's not their primary motivating force. I'm not an activist. I'm a comedian."

"Honestly, I think you want to be a political player," Wallace insisted.

"You can't understand because of world you live in that there is not a designed ideological agenda on my part to affect partisan change. Because that's the soup you swim in. I appreciate that. I understand that. It reminds me of, you know, you know, ideological regimes. They can't understand that there is free media other places. Because they receive marching orders."

"I don't think the viewers are the least bit disappointed with us," Wallace said. "Our viewers think finally we're getting somebody to tell the other side of the story."

"Who are the most consistently misinformed media viewers?" Stewart asked. "The most consistently misinformed? Fox viewers. Consistently. Every poll."

give me a break

attack and marginalize 1 news station

when abc, cbc,,msnbc, cnn are ideolical regimes that outnumber fox and that speaks volumes when people think stewart is a reliable "news source" when time and time agian he claims hes just a "comedian".

i find it hilarious at all the hatred for fox news and everyone turns a blind eye to the pro left and pro obama "news stations"

it is my opinion that fox news haters are the most consistent misformed ideological group out there.

guess people dont beleive in exercising freedom of speech

people have the freedom to pick and choose what they want to watch or listen to.

if you hate fox dont watch them and stop crying like little babies

Um...FoxNews.is the network being discussed in the OP. That's really the topic here. That and Stewart's comparison of it to an ideological regime.

And the only debate here might possibly be that FoxNews watchers are not the most consistently misinformed per these polls Stewart mentions. Or maybe even that any or all of them receive marching orders. Or perhaps Wallace's assertion about his network is balanced. Wallace's own first attempted jab at Stewart is also a prime example of how dense they are. His asking Stewart when the last time he voted for a Republican is pretty poor too. His view that another "side" is represented here is almost frightening evidence of indoctrination in and of itself. In fact, he's truly pathetic overall in his appearance in this clip.

I think the comparison is fair based on their actions. And I also agree that they don't see it as such because they do believe everyone, comedian, politician, or just plain old American, has the same exact kind of agenda, ideology, or both. They simply can't fathom that someone might not. Or that they're being laughed at or disagreed with at all.

I'd take his assertion even further and say they might even be appalled that people are laughing at them because that's indicative of a huge fail to them.

I don't think anyone is turning a blind eye to other MSM sources--they are focusing their efforts on the biggest offender, however. It's more of an attempt to wake up the indoctrinated masses.

Do you have any data, studies, polls, something, to back up this opinion of yours?

Jon Stewart’s comment on the consistent misinformation of Fox News viewers is based on actual data, studies and surveys. You are free to disagree with that data, of course, but can you even point to any data to support yours?

guess people dont beleive in exercising freedom of speech
So Jon Stewart sharing his opinion that Fox News is a propaganda machine is “not believing in exercising freedom of speech”?

For someone who talks tough all the time you are apparently a very sensitive and thin-skinned person neo. Any criticism of your channel of choice, or your candidates, is automatically an attack on the Constitution and your freedoms.

if you hate fox dont watch them and stop crying like little babies
Jon Stewart watches Fox News and makes fun of them, just as he does with CNN or any other channel where and when something funny, stupid or absurd is said or presented, because that’s what he does. That’s his job.

Just as you are free to criticize Jon’s show, Jon, and his viewers, are free to criticize or mock Fox News. The difference, apparently, is that we don’t take your criticism as an attack on our freedoms.

But I don't think they are as relentlessly activist as the conservative movement that has risen over the last forty years and that movement has decided that they have been victims of a witchhunt.

yeah in the next few seconds of the interview he put up competing "news source"

about the arizona immigration law complete with video clip.

the flat out lie "About how people any person would be pulled over to show proof of citizenship.

stewart didnt have to much to say on that and stewart's own record for hating one network when their own duplicity gets overlooked.

so other news organizations were very much the topic in this thread if your are quoting john stewart on wallace.

really not to many people bother to watch it i did when it was live.

Stewart is a liberal ideologue. He's come out on news shows ranting on his liberal talking points. His show is a thinly-veiled attempt at liberal news. Anyone who is a partisan wants to effect partisan change. He's just a hypocrite, which is totally expected of any partisan, including you. Partisans are people that have chosen to turn off their independent thinking in favor of groupthink and hatred. You and they have bought into the scam perpetrated by the truly evil, the rich scum who want everyone to hate each other so they won't hate the real evil in power.

Now turn on comedy central and go back to sleep. If you keep reading this forum you might actually wake up.

Great "source!" An admittedly far-left ideologue attack dog is taken as proof of what? Your own pathetic bias?

If you want to talk about "hitting the nail on the head," why not underscore his confirmation of the MSM's liberal bias?
Why noy? Becaise it doesn;t advance the left's goal of ignoring the absolute need and demand for the other viewpoint , which is nowhere to be found in the MSM!

Here's what your "authority" said on that:

When asked if the MSM were as “agenda driven” to the left as he accuses FOX of being to the right, Stewart acknowledged that MSNBC was, and that the others had a definite left-wing bias.
Would you say the same thing about them that they are, in your words, a ‘propaganda-delivery system relentlessly pushing a liberal agenda’?
STEWART: No, I wouldn’t say that.
WALLACE: Why not?
STEWART: MSNBC is attempting that … I think they’re attempting to be a more activist organization.
WALLACE: You don’t think The New York Times is a liberal organization now pushing a liberal agenda?
STEWART: The New York Times – no. I think [i[they are to a certain extent.

Stewart also acknowledged that the MSM’s liberal bias unfairly vilifies conservatives.

“I think there is, probably a liberal bias that exists within the media because of the medium in which it exists,” Stewart said. “I think that the majority of people working in it probably hold liberal viewpoints, but I don’t think they are as relentlessly activist as the conservative movement that has risen up over the last 40 years and that movement has decided that they have been victims of a witch hunt. And to some extent they’re right. People on the right are called racists and they’re called things with an ease that I am uncomfortable with and homophobic and all those other things. I think that that is absolutely something that they have a real right to be angry about and to feel that they have been vilified for those things. And I’ve been guilty of some of those things myself.”

dailycaller.com...

Of course, "hitting the nail on the head" cuts both ways. Good to see your pot calling the kettle black.

This post needs highlighting - it is yet another example of ignorant intolerance, hatred and division being sewn both here on ATS and in the real world. Want to talk about the uneducated? Look inward, first...

People often try to make the false agument of equivalency, saying, "Gee, the other side does it too." No, not really. They other side does NOT do it to near the extent. FOX does. HOW MAY pundits on FOX contract or were until recently either running for president or expected to run. No less than 6. How many ofr any othe network? Exactly 0...combined.

The simple fact is Roger Ailes and Murdock like to play king maker. Ailes is FIRST and last a republican strategist. Just yesterday Chris Christie....another contender...bragged how Ailes is his closet advisor.

FOX is part and parcel of the Republican party. Not even a debatable point. Others may have a bias, but I don't see them bald face lying to scue to their talking points. Why just today they lied about their own straw poll, not wanting to show Paul as the runaway winner. If it comes from FOX, chances are it is a lie or attempt to make a dem look bad, or both.

Who cares? Both sides are full of crap. Neither one has anything to do with presenting news or journalism. Just follow the trail to the top and you will see that the media is in few too many hands to be objective. Get a clue guys...

Lol... too many people substitute commentary for news and then argue over whether it's journalism. I'd call it ironic, but perhaps moronic is more appropriate.
