Yes,
but in this case, the island is exactly where it is supposed to be, an actual island, not a mirage

i dont know why they said it was an mirage, maybe china wanted to attract the amount of tourists again the 2006 mirage attracted

And the "interview" with lady just from her hand gesture looks like she is talking about the rise in water

As linked several times before dating back to 2006. It seems to have been a big deal then and did stop thousands of tourists in their tracks.

Full image caption;

Thousands of tourists rush to take a view at a mirage taking place off east China coast in Penglai, on the tip of Shandong Province on May 7, 2006. Modern high-rise buildings, broad city streets and bustling cars as well as crowds of people were all clearly visible. Experts explained that a mirage is formed when moisture in the air becomes warmer than the temperature of sea water, which refracts rays of sunlight to create reflections of the landscape in the sky. All those people rushing to take photographs yet we don't actually have a single photo of the event.

You don't hit links do you, you just spout out whatever of a single posted image?

Unfortunately, there is only one major island in that area, it doesn't look at all like the mirages, there is a ferris wheel at the point facing the bridge this woman was on. We also don't see the very visible distant mountains in the mirage images either.

The photos in the link just show an elongated cliff or land mass not the claimed [Modern high-rise buildings, broad city streets and bustling cars as well as crowds of people were all clearly visible.].

After going back and looking at all the posts previous to my own, ( I mentioned seeing a ghost like image of a ferris wheel in one of the frames) if you go back to page 4 of this thread someone posted an actual photograph of the children's playground and this very ferris wheel. So this is not an alternate universe peering through our own. The island and the ferris wheel have been identified and is a real island on the river is not a mirage. There is no mirage here. There is no holographic projection.

However, there is one explanation if the imagery is of an actual island and appearning where it shouldn't. And this is just off the top of my head. If you have ever seen a sun dog it is a ghost image of the sun appearing through atomospheric phenemonea which makes it look like there are two suns in the sky. This is due to natural atmospheric reflections (probably water vapor causing a screen on which to project the mirrored image).

So it could be that if a city is appearing where it shouldn't but is a real object within the scope of vision, then it could be a mirror effect due to moisture in the atmopshere and the actual object is being mirrored onto this moisture somewhat like the reflection of buildings in a lake but in this case the reflection occurs in the air just like a sun dog.

So I have to dismiss this as not being an alternate reality appearing within our dimension (shucks) and nor is it a 3d hologram being projected into the moisture by the nefarious red army to confuse people but rather just reflections within the atmosphere confusing the eye as to where the objects really are.

However, having said that, I think this proves how easy it would be to create a 3D hologram of a city if the atmospheric conditions were right. So if you are a pilot getting ready to drop that bomb on a squad of tanks, just consider that the tanks could be nothing more than an image projected over a river of fog. Of course even that would probably be cheaper than the 200 cruise missiles that Comrade Obama shot into Libya in NATOs continued non agression on Libya as Obama calls it.

I guess the question might be just how far an image can be projected into the atmosphere away from its original coordinates. I suspect that the image of a city can be mirrored onto moisture within the atmosphere at quite a great distance. Afterall, we don't actually see objects we see the light that is projected off of them. A distant star emits light for billions of miles. However many more objects are in the universe that we don't actually see because they emit or reflect no light. Our earth emits very little light but reflects a lot of light from the sun so if you were in the solar system somewhere you can actually see the earth. A sun dog is the observation of two suns. But one of them is a mirrored object of the other. I suspect that through light refraction an entire view of a city can be altered to a location where it really doesn't exist through moisture in the atmosphere. A mirage on the other hand is a false and poorly defined image due to the differences between heat and cold on the visual plane. A sun dog for example is not a mirage. It is an actual mirrored image onto particles in the atmopshere and does not require a difference between heat and cold air. Therefore a sun dog is more like a holographic image and looks almost identical to the original.

So this is where I am at on all of this at the moment.

Here is a screen shot from google streets. I believe when she speaks of "mirage" she is actually meaning the visual imagery of having the low lying mist and fog envelope the island and hide the river like that; it maybe looks a little mysterious and mystical, almost "storybook fantasy like" like the interviewee alludes to. That "imagery" is what they mean when she speaks of "the mirage"; at least that is my impression and opinion.

To find the area yourself on google streets just type in the city name and look around along the river area; I am sure this is it though...

After review that large building on the island and the antennas clearly match the building on the real island, I just could never spot the ferris wheel, (and still can't), but in further review, it is a small kiddy ferris wheel. The tall buildings on in the 'mirage' also resemble the buildings across from the island further downstream. But the mirage does indeed match up with the view from that bridge which is clearly found on Google maps.

The 2006 'mirage' seems to match up with a possible island off of the coast from the view at Penglai City also, it just may have been an atmospheric effect to make the distant coast appear close or magnified. The story may have been sensationalized.

The story on this thread is not a mirage, clearly.

You can spot the ferris wheel in the original video but it is a ghosted image (you can barely make it out). You have to not study the video but just casually look at the video just at the first few frames of panning the island. Because it was a ghosted image barely able to see in comparison the other elements in the so called "mirage" I commented that if it was a parallel universe it might have been more than one with the ferris wheel being part of yet another parallel universe slipping through. However, I posted that before reading the other comments where on page 4 an actual photograph of the island was there along with the exact ferris wheel as "ghosted" into the video. Go back and watch the video and you can make out the spokes of the ferris wheel. When I say ghosted, it almost appears that you can see through the spokes of the ferris wheel to see the background island objects. However, if you follow my above explanations that the video is NOT a video of the actual island but rather a mirror image of it as projected onto the moisture in the atmosphere then it makes sense that the object has a ghost like appearance (in that you can see through the image) just like a sun dog is a projected image of the sun onto atmospheric particles.

Now that I mention the idea that actual objects might be projected onto atmospheric particles though natural means of mirror imaging from one point within the field of vision to another point many factor away (sun dog example) this opens a slew of possibilities such as:

- Might explain why fog is associated with the sight of "ghost" ships in historical ghost stories.

- Might explain why government scientists might want to create "chem trails" or atmospheric seeding as a "canvas" to project holographic images onto the sky. The reasons for this could be numerous from making hundreds of war planes appear where there actually is none to creating a 3d alien invasion to the return of Christ in the clouds. Couple these holographic images projected onto the chem trails (atmospheric sky cover) with voices, and you could possibly fool most of the world's population into believing something that isn't real (as in solid object).

Has anyone thought to Google Earth this mo' fo and see that these building exist in this dimension?!
This site has become a playground for delusional fools.

I see this has been done. Kudo's

It has now been proven that everything is in this dimension. Whether or not the buildings are "appearing" where they should to the observers on the bridge due to light refraction in the atmospheric moisture is the question at this point. In addition some discussion has been made of projecting images via holographic technology vs. light refraction which is quite feasible (i.e using holographic technology to create a city where there is none).

At any rate. Case closed. Conspiracy theory solved. Thread over. No new dimensions on this one. No ghosts. Nothing really out of the ordinary actually.

so what is the real answer? ive read people saying its the island and others saying its nothing like the island. both have said theyve seen the island on google earth/maps

You know, we could save a whole lot of time and wasted pages if people would simply read the posts that came before! Half of this thread (and countless others) is either repeating what was said only a page before or asking questions that are answered only a page before.
Seriously.

Stranger still and even sillier are the people who feel compelled to immediately jump on and post their opinion before they know anything about the thread and tell us they are posting before they know anything!
I mean: wtf?!

These premature ejaculations flood and dilute the whole topic.

Not every unexpressed thought needs to be immediately posted.

Just sayin'.
