Unfortunately you do not know this to be fact, Assistant Detective. You were not there, and China, (also read as: not Japan) broadcasted this. Now please hand back the badges before i demote you
for lack of evidence and brash actions. lol

Sometimes on ATS, people's minds are so open their brains have fallen out.
Its an "antisheep" phenomenon - where ATS users are so eager and desperatly keen to prove to themselves that they arent sheep, that they will believe ANYTHING that they think is unusual or out of the norm or something a sheep might not believe.
And in that way, become some of the most gullible people on the planet.

What news channels were broadcasting this? All I'm finding are a couple mirrored videos on Youtube.

It still looks like a case of flooding. There is nothing to indicate that there's any more to it. The CNC is trolling us. Its even raining in the video as made evident by the people holding umbrellas.

Gotta love how 3/4 of the people in this thread are acting like their already ahead of the few others who are open to the possibility of "mirage" as the thread originally implied. No, being the the 20th person to debunk the claim doesn't make you hyper-insightful. It's probably just as many have said, merely a video of flooding, but stop acting like you were the first/only to think so; and calling the people who thought otherwise idiots doesn't do any good.

After looking up Huangshan, Anhuisheng, China on google maps- finding the bridge it was taken from- it appears that the river twists and winds around the city scape around it. Unfortunately Google street view has not been updated in that area, so you cant see it from the bridges point of view. But, its very likely that its the cityscape amist the fog.

Sorry, broseph, but the most fascinating revelation I had while going through this thread was that there were only a couple of people who resisted the blind hype. I would be open to the idea of 3D holographic projection, too, but its painfully obvious that it isn't the case here. Why ignore the most logical assumption that this is just a video of flooding? What "clues" are you guys picking up on that I'm not seeing?

I think alot of the people agreeing with the "mirage" hype are merely entertaining their conspiracy/imaginative side, and aren't taking it for a fact. Yes some really might. I'm not saying it is or isn't what has been proposed, but for the most part I base my views on these types of anomalies from an occams pov. Unlike others, when I first saw the video I didn't immediately think "Oh project bluebeam, with a mixture of inter-dimensional/alternate universes colliding with us". The thought is entertaining but ends there, unless more sufficient evidence is released that shows it truly was a mirage; and we can begin to speculate from there. However I'm not here to call people idiots who are already throwing the most obscure of conspiracies into the fray. On the contrary I got a good laugh out of it.

Fair enough. But this type of thing is what makes EVERYONE on this website look bad.

Which could be why the Chinese released it in the first place.

What a complete crock!

The water manages to flow nicely around the mirage trees, the clip isn't on the ITN website, and the reporter isn't a voice I've heard before (I'm in the UK) - and she does sound a bit suspect, far too sexy a voice for British news! If this were real, it would have made headlines around the world instantly.

Nicely done, but no cigar.

If you look at the links provided you will see that the same description is posted from the official source found here: newscontent.cctv.com...

Amazing mirage appeared on Thursday at dusk at the Tunxi section of the Xin'an River in Huangshan City, east China's Anhui Province, when continuous pouring rain had just stopped. In the thin mist above the river were spectacular images of mountains, buildings and trees, which seemed to be floating on the river. The phenomenon began at about 17:00 p.m. local time, attracting a large number of people, who paused to watch the ethereal scene. "It’s really amazing. It looks like a scene in the movie, in a fairyland," a local said. Similar sights are often seen lately, only they were not as special as this one, local residents say.

I still think it is fake though as i dont see how it could be possible.

I'm inclined to say it is a hoax. The video and the news caster report are two different stories. The comments from the news caster could be made up just the same.

When they showed the trees in the water I knew the video was meant to cover the recent flooding of the river.

We are only 18 months from the full onset of 4th density, or the 4th dimension.

-Is there anyone here that speaks chinese and can translate what the woman interviewed was saying?

I just don't buy this. I alos think it was a report on flooding that someone took and dubbed in a different reporting voice- and message.

Good morning all,

I got a reply from the user who posted the vid from the OP on Youtube,
He said he found the movie on the cctv website (the chinese news site)
BUT
It seems like there was another vid up there before the msm picked it up, one that doesn't contain the interview with the chinese woman. Later it was replaced with the vid in my OP

here is the original one

SO, having that fact,
I think we can conclude that what we see on the vid is not the same as what they want us to believe it is and the vid was edited to give it more credability.
As OP of this thread I'm calling it a hoax.

btw, this second vid is now going around on youtube and several sites as "new unique footage". It isn't new, it's merely the unedited original movie, probably from someone filming a flood or something.

I think it does represent a 'mirage' but that we are confusing the somewhat mundane with the spectacular. The so called mirage that is likely being referred to is that of buildings that look like they are anchored onto fog or water instead of tera firma. The combination of flooding and fog has made it look like the buildings are floating. They are not saying the buildings don't exist at their usual spots and are mystically appearing but rather they look like they are floating on islands, fog or water.

After doing more research, thanks to you locating the city, I conclude that this is 100% HOAX.

If you look at the video posted here by GypsK and pause at the 0:11 mark, you'll see an "island" floating in the river, and they claim it's a "mirage":
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/be18f11db9dd.jpg[/atsimg]

The problem is that it's *not* a mirage, it's 100% real - it's a real island in the river:

Paste these coordinates into Google Maps: 29.707978,118.313624

UPDATE: Oh, and here's those towers that stupid reporter said weren't really there.
