Next person to comment without using scriptures, I'm having this thread closed. Understand?

Matthew 19:16-19

King James Version (KJV)

16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Jesus said here in order to gain eternal life we must KEEP THE 10 COMMANDMENTS.

He is a liar. He cannot answer your questions because he does not know the scriptures. He has yet to give us any scriptures, except maybe 1 or 2 to justify a whole doctrine. He has literally taken one scripture, and made up a whole doctrine with it. He claims just because Jesus sounded like he was saying he would come into his kingdom that day, that people go to heaven.

THIS IS WHAT JESUS SAID. You can go back and look at the original greek manuscripts. This is what Jesus meant. "Verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise." Cause in greek, the comma can be on other side of today. Like this today, or like this ,today.

It just doesn't add up.. Jesus had to have died on the cross cause it foretold by all the prophets that He would die. I'm telling you.. Mary and Joseph had more children.. or Joseph's father had more children.

There is no such thing as a comma in Greek.

Will you show me where I "lied"? You've said this three times now and twice I have told you that a "lie" is when someone believes X to be true and tells everyone Y is true. I believe in the catching away of the church, by default that prevents me from being a liar. I'd have to not believe in a rapture but teach about a rapture to be "lying" about it.

The soul is the body! lol. You know nothing about the scriptures.

There are two parts that make up a human. The body/soul, and the breath of life that God gave you.

Genesis 2:7

King James Version (KJV)

7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

What was Adam before God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life? He was a dead soul.

Jesus called death "sleep", like it says everywhere else in the Bible.

John 11:11-14

King James Version (KJV)

11These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

12Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

13Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

14Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Death is a deep sleep. You know how when people go into comas, they don't remember anything? That's because they were nearly dead! Being dead is a bit deeper than a coma. You have no consciousness or any thoughts.

Continue? (inserts coin)

Read James chapter one, verse one for me again buddy..... Now learn to divide the word of truth.

Everything in the Bible is written for you.....but not every thing in the Bible is wrote to you...

The quote above is where you are screwing up pretty bad with your beliefs. Be careful in Matthew, Acts, Hebrews and James my friend...

Ok, show me one person who ascended into heaven like Jesus. When Jesus went to heaven, his whole body went with him. Show me someone who has died where their body went into heaven. Good luck!

Hmmm, Elijah did....so did Enoch. And when the rapture takes place, many millions more will in the blink of an eye.
The two named people above, both their bodies went to heaven, along with their soul and spirit. And one could argue Moses did as well, after he died of course.

Megalomania?

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Notice the man said "shall I do"?

The man was asking what he needed to do on his own to inherit eternal life. Jesus was being truthful. What any of us needs to do to earn eternal life on our own merits is follow the law completely, in it's entirety, without fail. Then we can approach the throne of God and say "Move over, now there are two of us."

I agree with Jesus if a person wants to focus on what they can do to inherit life eternal they need to keep the entire law without sinning.

Jesus said here in order to gain eternal life we must KEEP THE 10 COMMANDMENTS.

No, no no. Jesus didn't say anything about "10 Commandments". There are over 600 commandments of God in Exodus and Leviticus. If you can keep them all without fail go ahead. To fail in one part is to fail them all.

You seem to be oblivious to the Book of Romans, E. g.:

“...for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” ~ Romans 13:8-10

We are no longer under the law but under grace.

We are in the image of God, three parts in one. Body, Soul, and Spirit. The body turns old, the spirit man is renewed daily (2 Corinthians 4:16) . The soul and spirit are present with the Lord when the body dies (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Wasn't Moses long dead when he appeared with Elijah on the mountain of transfiguration?

Romans, Galatians?

Apparently when Jesus said "It is finished" He actually meant, "I've done my part now you need to finish it yourselves, sorry my sacrifice wasn't sufficient."

That may be true for the Old Testament but not in the New Testament. The Greek language allows for a broader interpretation. You have to realize that Christianity is a Greek religion, not a Hebrew religion.
for example:
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

That verse would have been impossible in the Hebrew Old Testament.

Um, not really sure what to think about this thread. No offense, but I can't believe that people in this modern age still harbor ancient beliefs that certain people are going to go poof and teleport to Heaven.

So tell us, why did you post in a thread about a particular Christian teaching? Also, check the mod "sticky" posts at the top of the Religion forum, where it talks about not coming here to rehash whether the Bible is true or religious faith is for losers (or words to that effect).
