The Invasion of ATS

We are being invaded, my fellow conspirators! Not from an advanced civilization of extra-terrestrial beings; not from a well organized group of Middle Eastern terrorists; not even a country such as China whom many believe strives to dominate the world. Instead it is an enemy within.

This enemy cannot be repelled with the use of common sense, facts, logic, or even hard evidence. The programming and indoctrination this enemy receives ensures complete adherence to the directives they are programmed to abide by.....and the programming is fierce!

Of course, I am talking about the invasion of the NeoCons! On a website in which distrust of politics and politicians used to be the norm, we now have a group that agrees with the premise that politicians are inherently deceitful, that they cannot be trusted and have no knowledge of the constitution......unless that politician is a conservative Republican! A Republican can do no wrong in the eyes of a NeoCon robot.

They claim to understand and defend the constitution, yet they are willing to defend the actions of Republicans that contradict the constitution! Some good examples would be the Patriot act, gay marriage, healthcare reform, tax policies, the creation of government agencies and many, many more.

They claim to wish to preserve the sanctity of life by banning abortion, yet they send our family members over to foreign nations to kill masses of people in the name of "democracy" and send our loved ones to die themselves. Also, they manipulate the health care system to make it harder for poor and middle-class people to get the proper care they need, before they die!

They claim to be against big government control, yet they bred an out of control market environment in which the value of the profit dollar is worth more than the value of life itself! They uphold the corporations, and their rights as "individuals", even though it is contradictory to the constitution and even as the corporation becomes the biggest manipulator of public opinion and habit by the use of massive propaganda campaigns and techniques.

They bastardized the meaning of what it is to be a patriot! Their view demands that to be a true patriot you must abide by a certain political ideology. Otherwise you are a traitor to the nation and most likely a socialist, commie terrorist.

The response to those who disagree with them is the biggest giveaway to their motives and standards. When faced with facts that squash a certain belief they may hold, their tactics are to respond in an irrelevant, attack-mode that tears down the individual instead of the issue at hand.

We are not allowed to hold an opinion that differs from the Republican talking points as it automatically causes the NeoCons to label us "Obama-lovers" and the like.

So there you have it ATS. You know exactly what I am talking about, and many of you proudly participate within the forums in just the manner I described. Many of you may say that the Democrats do the same thing, and I can agree to a point, but they hold no candle to the indoctrinated response that comes from the well-organized NeoCons.

It's beggining to effect the quality of our threads, our reputation on ATS for being honest and forthright, and it's effecting the integrity of the site overall. We must combat this invasion! We must ask that our T&C be properly enforced in regards to political baiting and trolling. We must bombard this movement with intelligent and truthful information and not allow one political spectrum to overrun our forums and our reputation.

Both sides are wrong, simple and don't accomplish ANYTHING except arguing amongst themselves..

This is by design, thank you for keeping the hate filled distractions moving forward.

Well said my friend, well said.

You forgot to mention their other alias. Though they keep their name hidden, especially from themselves, they are part of an organization, whose name is so horrendous that a normal person shudders at the sight of it. They are known as: TROLLS

Pardon my pun.

Your post was well written!
But honestly, what's the difference anymore?
I can only categorize between human and anti-human, not left/right.
S&F for your post though!

Yes, everyone that doesn't think like you is a troll. You are the one calling names, yet it is others that are at fault.. makes total sense.

i hate labels

but i love ats for getting me in contact with individuals that live and represent all paths of existence.

i respect and love all, specially those who dont feel such for me.

even if you dont agree with someone's stance, learn to live with it.

even if you consider some as enemies, embrace them also.

"keep your friends close and your enemies even closer"

deny your ignorance of not knowing what others think and feel at least.

what a sad existence if we all agreed on it.

I think you are correct. I have noticed the same thing. I will say, however, that your thread suffers from a lack of examples. If properly cited, quotations that illustrate your point would be well within the T&C, and would call out the worst offenders that they might then attempt to defend their trolling, baiting behaviors.

Otherwise, what we have here is he said/she said labeling without any real examples and therefore I cannot consider the thread successful in its goal.

You are correct, but you still need to prove it. That shouldn't be hard to do.

Just my two cents.

Not to summarize in a one liner, but...

Its not a partisan issue. Both "sides" were created to give us the illusion of choice. We don't have freedom of choice.

David Crosby said that choosing the "lesser" of two evils, is still choosing evil.

Forget about left/right and everyone come together. Its the only way to win.

I think this is much more than just left-right. This is a full-on exercise in facist propagnada!

Democrats and Republicans can disagree but are able to still have an honest conversation in which compromise and logic is allowed.

But not with the NeoCons....

Absolutely! We MUST keep ATS pure for the sake of the socialist Marxist mindset to expound their dreams of a worldwide revolution against -er- everybody else so that we can install our paradise civilization where we can get anything we want for nothing and make someone else pay for it. It is absolutely crucial that we purge any other thoughts from ATS because only OUR thoughts are pure and valid and everyone else's thoughts, PARTICULARLY those evil right wing Nazi corrupt racist power mongers should not be allowed on this board!

Right on, brother! Power to the people! Smash the state!

Throw out your idea of the left right paradigm! This has nothing to do with that.

This is about a concerted effort to overtake a political ideology in order to encompass both sides into one thought-process rooted in the molestation of our founding ducuments and flies in the face of what it actually means to be American!

i think folks that still have faith in either D or R are still asleep at the wheel regardless of how enlightened they may think they are. its pretty obvious that as long as a politician is drawing breath and their lips are moving, they most probably are lying.

Washington DC specializes in distractions and mis-truths for the people while they do as they damn well please.

Unfortunately there are some who actually feel that way yet I would venture to say our perception of who qualified differes quite radically.

They claim to understand and defend the constitution, yet they are willing to defend the actions of Republicans that contradict the constitution! Some good examples would be the Patriot act, gay marriage, healthcare reform, tax policies, the creation of government agencies and many, many more.

There is no defending the USA Patriot Act, specifically the Sunset Clause. Gay marriage is also another issue which should neither be federal or even state issues for that matter but so many believe it to be. Would you mind to be specific on healthcare reform? So many different variants of reforming that broken system have and will be proposed so it would help to know which specifically you are addressing. On tax policies, do you mean defending tax cuts for the wealthy equates you with a NeoCon immediately? Because if so I would like to remind you that there are conservatives who do not believe in high taxes yet are definitely not NeoCons. As for the creation of government agencies I cannot comprehend how anyone who claims to be conservative could justify the creation of yet another bureaucracy.

Fighting for "democracy" is completely contradictory especially if you view it from the perspective of our founding principles. Abortion however is a controversial issue due mostly to the fact that violating the sanctity of life can easily be deemed a violation of our natural rights. Wars however are sometimes necessary, it is a simple fact of the nature of things, to deny that is to deny reality. That does not mean these present wars are justifiable, because they are not. In regards to health care I do not see how Republicans have actually tried to manipulate the health care system to deny affordable care to the poor and middle-class. If you would care to provide factual evidence from a reputable source I would be most obliged.

So long as the government is not directly interfering then it is not 'big government' to have a heavily corporatized market place. Arguably it was the result of bureaucratic regulations from government coupled with corporate promises of performing public services which have resulted in these monopoly sized 'too big to fail' corporations and banks which feed off the teet of the tax payers. Corporations should be free from the strangling forces of government interference but unfortunately too many have become the ally of government since they see it as a tool to manipulate regulatory practices so as to create an unfair market place which is fundamentally opposed to competition.

They bastardized the meaning of what it is to be a patriot! Their view demands that to be a true patriot you must abide by a certain political ideology. Otherwise you are a traitor to the nation and most likely a socialist, commie terrorist.

Only a few have actually gone so far as to propose anything like you are saying. Their ridiculous views were propelled by a media which is headline driven so do not actually believe that because it is false. Anyone with a few functioning brain cells could tell you that to be a patriot does not require an ideological litmus test.

The response to those who disagree with them is the biggest giveaway to their motives and standards. When faced with facts that squash a certain belief they may hold, their tactics are to respond in an irrelevant, attack-mode that tears down the individual instead of the issue at hand.

Are you actually going to claim this same practice is not done by people of all partisan ideologies? Communists, Socialists, Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, etc... will all fall back on that same old line when they run out of their own ideas and have their backs against the wall. To pretend like it is done solely or disproportionately by 'NeoCons' is just showing ignorance.

We are not allowed to hold an opinion that differs from the Republican talking points as it automatically causes the NeoCons to label us "Obama-lovers" and the like.

You are allowed to hold any political view you like. No one ideology owns ATS and can tell you what to do, think, or say. Sure you may be confronted by an overwhelming force of conservative-to-libertarian politics here but it is natural of conspiracy theory minded people to be of the ideological lean. Just a simple search of conspiracy theories and politics will turn up results clearly stating that.

While you argue they "hold no candle to the indoctrinated response..." this merely shows personal opinion on your side. Since you lean toward those politics you are less able to see that the left-leaning on this sight an be just as dim as anyone of other political persuasions.

I would agree that Neoconservatives are definitely not the type of people I would like to hang around there is a problem however. Far too many people are willing to jump on the NeoCon name calling bandwagon, painting all right-leaning people with the same broad brush, so before you can declare that there is some sort of invasion by NeoCons perhaps you would like to read up on exactly who and what NeoCons really are, eh?

There are several PR and web firms who are hirees of the Republican Party and Major Corporations (whose creeds are the same - climate change denial, kill the unions, kill government regulation, promote war, etc- the big money ticket in other words)

And yes they hire posters to hit blog and news story comment sections and of course, politically focused forums such as these. No there aren't more of them than there are normal, sane people. They do, however, get paid to post and are on a phone/email list to be instantly available to go argue party talking points on any major news story or thread that would go against their money interests.
Here is one sample of a firm advertising for Republican/Neo-Con Sock Puppets:

Leonard, Schechter & Associates, a boutique, Washington, D.C.-based communications firm serves a range of clients – from Fortune 100 corporations to high-profile individuals, from foreign governments and international organizations to trade associations and non-profits....

Our professionals use their experience, creativity .. to craft the messages and strategies needed to meet these objectives. If that sounds like fun, we invite you to apply for one of our mid- or senior-level positions. Experience in the media, a PR agency, or in a communications capacity at a company, association or non-profit is also desirable. Strategic-minded, energetic professionals with superior writing skills, knowledge of internet forum posting, news commentary posting and a passion for communications are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Spanish required for some positions. Email your resume to blah blah blah.

You can look at the non-profit Sourcewatch for information also
www.sourcewatch.org...
and
You can check PRWatch- a nonprofit that keeps an eye on various political and corporate campaigns and is neutral-party. It goes after both.
