I think I see the problem. You are under the impression that this is all about "visually appealing", and you compare it to other cosmetic procedures. That is an unfair parallel.

My personal beliefs are that the Jewish people are intelligent, can manage their own personal lives, and it's presumptuous to assume they need my -or your- advice.

I didn't get my boys cut. I saw absolutely no reason why I should. The whole idea just freaked me out anyway.
I might get cancer or an infection in my big toe, don't mean It should be cut off at birth!

Ah, one more comment before I leave this thread, and that is I don't know why everyone is pretending like only Jewish people are circumcised. Pleeze. It has been typical for Americans, and most civilized societies. If that changes, and it goes out of vogue, whatev.

And by the way, it is more visually appealing.

I've always thought that this was a really odd and disturbing practice. I wouldnt peirce a childs ears let alone a proceedure like this. There are health benefits, but this is also a lot to due with poor male hygene as most males dont wash the part of the penis the foreskin covers and aparently the build up that occurs from the natural secretions of the penis can cause cancer eventually if it is regularly not cleaned, thus removing the old yucky stuff.

Despite really not liking circumstision ive always felt that I cant say so as I will be labelled as intorolent of other peoples beliefs. I just dont like the idea of inflicting this on a child who cant make the concious decision themsleves. I apologise for not understanding this practices importance to the jewish faith but I just dont get how it can be so importtant?!?!? It really makes no sense to me at all how integral they say it is and I have never heard a reason why.

On a lighter note what % of americans are cut? In the UK hardly anyone but Jews are. When being forced to watch sex and the city with my girlfriend once tho the episode featured one of them dating a guy who was not cut and this aparently was a huge deal an she hated it not being that way. AS if they only sleep with jewish people and anyone else is too unsophisticated for those 4 trendy, successfull dirt whores! Anyway why do they act in the show that its so common? Do Americans (or just New Yorkers) practice it at birth or something?!?!

Nope. Here it is not just a New York thing, and it's not just a Jewish thing. I don't know, maybe it's a class thing? I know they cost money (it's done soon after birth - during infancy, usually before the baby leaves the hospital) so maybe the poor can't afford it?

Anyway, I don't really care. I just don't like seeing people finding another way to criticize Jewish people.

I don't think that many Europeans are circumcised - I could be wrong though?

Well, I live in a highly civilised society and I am not circumcised nor are any of my friends!

I have lived and know people in many European countries, and not many of the were circumcised - and those few I know who are circumcised did it for some medical reasons, and not when they were babies.

Thats interesting I always thought it was purely a religious thing (well here it is anyway) I dont like criticising peoples beliefs, they have a right to believe what religion they want to. I just dont agree with inflicting pain on a child against their consent

I wonder do they offer reconstructive foreskin surgery?

personally, i like my cut penis. it looks good, i couldnt imagine it looking any other way. i think the foreskin makes it look like a burrito or something. i couldnt cut a son or daughter like that but im glad i dont have my foreskin.

Just another lousy excuse for haters to spread venom. Control freaks always want to control other peoples lives. It is always a tiny minority, but with load voices and most of them just want attention. If this cause did not come along, they would invent one.

any bugger come near my little fellows wang and there will be trouble lol i havent been cut and i dont have cancer of the wang i also clean my wang ( its not hard ) so there is no reason i can bloody see to get it cut my son can get it done if he wants to when he is old enough not now when he is so young . on another note i have a freind who could not copulate ( screw) because his foreskin was deformed it caused him intense pain when he attempted and caused his member to swell it was removed for medical reasons thats the only reason i can see to do this otherwise its just genital mutilation

You ever hear correlation does not imply causation? What logical reason is there to think that cutting off foreskin can actually reduce cancer? What kind of Cancer? Penis Cancer? Is this a big issue with men who aren't cut?

Anyway, as for the OP

The guy's name is Hess haha now that's kind of funny.

I don't see a problem with the comic. Going around chopping off parts of baby boy's penises doesn't really seem like something that should be off limits to make a comic book about. That sounds kind of wrong. I mean shouldn't be off limits to demonize people that go around chopping off bits of babies penises.

That's how your logic sounds. If cutting the skin is beneficial then a child's consent is not necessary, just like sending a child to the doctors.
