Name one society, in the history of the world that didn't have a black market....
The gun was probably illegal, You can make all the laws you want, criminals don't follow them....

Agreed. Once a person has begun discharging their firearm, unless you are physically close enough to the weapon to disarm them AND capable of disarming them, then seeking shelter is the best route.
I applaude the gal's bravery.. I hope she pulls through. But yeah, being a stupid dead hero is NOT better than being smart and alive.

I don't need a gun to kill lots of people. I am large, very strong, have a martial arts background, and can stick all manner of sharp objects in people.
Our "right to bear arms" is just that. There is no need for me to be protected. I protect myself. You should expect the same. Those handouts and measures to protect you come with a price.
People do not need protection from themselves. That is a view of most tyrants. What kind of ego makes a person think that they should think for someone else?

If New York allowed concealed carry, would this have still happened? Or would the shooter have been taken out before she decided to confront him?
I am 110% behind every citizen being licensed for concealed carry.

Girl shot in head for challenging gunman
www.heraldsun.com.au(visit the link for the full news article)
A ninth-grade girl is clinging to life after being shot in the head when she challenged a crazed gunman during a fight outside a Bronx party, cops said yesterday.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said cops only had a "vague description" of the shooter and were searching for a black man wearing a blue hoodie.

I am 110% behind every citizen not needing a license to carry a gun. It defeats the purpose of the 2nd. The argument we often hear is that citizens don't need guns to protect themselves from criminals. If that's the case, then police shouldn't need them either. Start taking guns away from police, then let's see if they change their tune. Besides, it seems these days that police are just as likely to shoot unarmed citizens and dogs as they are real criminal suspects.
To me, the saddest part of the story is that from all the people there, the only one with the testicular fortitude to stand up to the gunman was a 15 year old girl. It doesn't speak very well for the character of New Yorkers. But then, "I didn't want to get involved" has been the city's mantra for decades.

Dont you think its a little harsh, to call her stupid, idiot? Perhaps she knew the guy from the neighborhood?.. This is what happens when you live in the Bronx, you get use to this behavior. Gun shots, are the norm. People that do the shooting are people that you usually grown up with, and most likely your friend from the 'hood'. Why do people think that people who do these "random acts" come from complete strangers that come from the shadows of the back alleys, and just disappear in mid-air? smh

So let me get this straight.... they are looking for a black man in a blue hoodie in the Bronx? Sounds like a great lead to me.
