Super semi conductors, super soldiers, super weapons...super weed. Medical scientists are working on cannibinoids for treatment of particular diseases and conditions wherein marijuana has proved an efficacy in the relief of the sufferers of those diseases.

Very interesting. I wonfer if, once approved and released for presrciption, there will be an unusual increase in the diagnosis of certain pathologies in California.

In another note, I am looking forward to retirement.

If it's the one I heard about on the BBC the other week, its purpose is as an anti-psychotic! It's been bred to have a higher level of one factor and a lower level of THC, therefore to act against psychosis...
This post is therefore alarmist...

Super strains have already been invented. If it has more than 15% THC then it is super. Since they neglect to mention how much THC is in it, then they have failed. There are over 300 powerful compounds in cannabis and they do not say which ones they are breeding for. I am not impressed. Bad jounalism or something.

Ciao, Vicky - long time.

The paragraph I elected to post speaks directly to the medical benefits as the main reason to these scientific hybrids. I did not use or see the word "psychosis." I am sorry if you found this to be "alarmist." That was not my intention, nor is it my style. I have a medical science background and happen to be a proponent of herbal remedies, especialy for those who suffer conditions for which synthetics cannot seem to provide relief.

You have a great point, but one that shoots itself in the foot for people that like the high feeling.

As stated in the article they are exploring the diffrent cannaboids to isolate certain ones. This could lead to a strain with no psychotic effects but still give us the benifits of the plant.

If members are unable to discuss issues surrounding certain "drugs" without getting into discretionary recreational use and/or self-medicating, then this forum will no longer be available to you.

I would recommend identifying the type that provides you the benefits you need. Crohn's disease patients need the pain relief and appetite. Diabetics may benefit from the pain relief but would need the appetite curbed.

In 2007 I was given a prognosis of 18 months with my Brain tumor. I read that cannabis could actually slow the growth of the type of tumour I have. So I dont know how much an effect it has had on my survival rate, but my tumor has been inactive for nearly 4 years and I find myself in a very exclusive group of people surviving with my condition.

My comment was in realtion to how a plants genitic make up can make my life worth living with cause and effect within my post. I was not advocating use nor was I advocating legilisating this item. I was more enthused that the medical companies in the UK are looking into it as a cure for my debiliting illiness.
