IMO he took charge day one. I really think the biggest problem here is that way too many people expected everything to be fixed instantly. That is not reality. You can't just put bandaids on things and call it fixed, you have to get to the root of the problem and put on temporary bandaids so you don't bleed out in the meantime. It is going to take a long time to fix.

Well, the instant fix is what he pitched.
Blaming others seems to be the old drum beat from both sides, but used more often by Liberals.

Either way Obama is a failure.

BS, the instant fix is not what he pitched. That is what people heard, I heard a much different pitch. The roll up your sleeves and prepare for a long road pitch. I heard plenty of I may not be able to get it done in 4 years, but will lay the groundwork.

Really, unemployment numbers, gas prices, GITMO, war and so on. These things were promised to have been down by now, yet all spiral out of control.

Hope and Change.

Obama is a terrible president, as most of what he works for is more and bigger Govt.

Spiral out of control I think is a bit much. We were on the verge of collapse when the missing village idiot waved bye bye. I think it has probably taken a lot just to keep us from sinking.

Yeah, ok. Reality is a pain isn't it?

Yes, Bush was terrible, but Obama is the speed train to hell.

Everything has gotten worse with no end in sight. To suggest otherwise is ignorant.

Can you explain what I am missing here?

Sure.

See above quote.

The government did not create this problem! An uniformed population and a greedy profit-leaching bank system did! You're right...you need to wake up!

Actually, the government did make the housing and depression problem.

Bill Clinton in the 90s took away regulations, which were put into place after the first Depression. Regulations originally outlawed the creation of monopolies. Once they were taken out of place, the rise of 'too big to fail' banks and companies began. 'Too big to fail' = Monopoly. When the regulations were originally put into place, after the Great Depression (World War II era), they stopped banks and corporations from damaging the economy and taking over the country. Bill Clinton stripped the regulations away, roughly 40 years later, so he can pretend to fix the economy in order to win an election.

Barney Frank and Bill Clinton then created the foreclosure chaos by opening the housing market, so that everyone, regardless about their income, can easily buy a house. It didn't mater if people had enough income to cover the bills.

Look it up. Its fact.

We never recovered from the stock market crash of 1999/2000. Since the internet stock market bubble popped, at the end of Clinton's final term, the Bush Administration didn't have enough time to react. Within a matter of a few months, we were hit by a terrorist attack. Once the events of 9/11/01 occurred, the already damage economy finally collapsed. Since that point in time, we have been too busy with war.

~ Bill Clinton and Barney Frank remove corporate regulations and setup equal housing for everyone.
~ Internet stock market breaks. Economy heads into a small crash.
~ Bush gets elected.
~ 9/11/01 occurred and changes our focus.
~ War begins.
~ Economy gets boosted by housing market influx in pricing.
~ George Bush fights corporate fraud.
~ Second war begins.
~ Housing starts to implode from Clinton's errors, and Bush's stupidity in not fixing the issue.
~ Stock market begins to crash from housing and corporate corruption.
~ Obama uses bailout money to buy and help houses, companies, and banks.
~ Tea-Party responds to the bailouts.
~ Etc...

Yes, the Democrats and Republicans were responsible for this mess. Democrats for setting things into motion, and Republicans for turning their heads the other way.

One thing you left out and that is how the banks kept jacking up the payments amounts until the costumer couldn't afford the payments.

The banks sure did.

I mean, god forbid the person actually read and take the time to understand what they are signing.

A 5year interest only ARM actually expires and does what it is designed to do??? What what!!

What a bunch of cold hearted, greedy, small minded simpletons.

You are actually complaining that some home owners, whose equity has evaporated through no fault of their own, are receiving some relief?

How's that old saying go? They came for the Jews, but I didn't say anything, because I'm not Jewish....
Obviously, you who complain are rich, or think you will be.

Some people are bound and determined to hate on every move this president makes. If he helps families, he's giving everyone welfare. If he doesn't help families, he's out of touch.

I can't believe people are complaining about this, of all the stupid mess our tax money goes to, I'm GLAD to see it helping out some real people for a change.

Nevermind the fact that we could solve all homelessness, put every family in a house AND every teenager in college if we'd stop making bombs and bomb delivery systems.

Get a grip, you grinches.

Entitlement for the delinquent!

What the hell is wrong with our president!

He is dumber than George Bush Jr.!

Do you know how to get a crap load of Democrats to vote Republican? You take their hardworking cash, and then you give it to someone who thinks they are entitled to free stuff.

Yea! I say eat the poor who are too old to work and put their kids into debtor prison camps to work off their debts to the banks!

Why should honest bankers have to get a haircut? Hell, I say get it over quicker. Let's concentrate the wealth in 10 men's hands, make them kings and create royalty in the USA.

Obviously the millions of people who are upside down in their mortgages are too friggin stupid to handle their finances. Let's leave it to the real experts on wallstreet and let them decide who deserves to own real property just like it used to be in England.

Better yet, there aren't enough resources on this planet to house and feed the billions of peasants on the planet especially the "non-Americans." why not create a lethal bacterium and spray on the vegetables sold to peasants. That way they will have to eat more candy which will rot their teeth and leave corn on the cob and steak for the smart people?

Ok, so homeowners underwater affect their payment how? Or ability to repay how? If that was the case, I think almost 90% of those that have a mortgage would not be able to make a payment.

This is more about people that just signed away on the dotted line for the house they could not afford.

If only I can be one of those ten men, and then I can really show everyone hope and change.

All I am asking is for personal responsibility, and all I keep hearing is how people should rely on the government.

Wow! What happened to rolling up your sleeves, lacing up your boots, and digging into the dirt?

What a load of whining.

What does not kill you makes you stronger.

You pick yourselves up.

If you have to crawl for a few miles, hold you composure and take it like a man.

I am wearing my bruises proudly and honorably.

I read your response and trust me when I say the only comment I feel comfortable making here is:

Huh?

So, your saying the there is no oversight to this 'Housing Welfare,' and the Government is just giving all homeowners, who are underwater, money with no rhyme or reason?

Cool.

Society cannot last long with freeloaders sucking off of taxpayers.

Eventually, the middle-class taxpayer bracket will just get up and leave.

You cannot tax people if there are none to tax.
By freeloaders, you mean big business, right?

You do know that even welfare queens pay taxes, do you not? Every person regardless of income, is taxed, for we all consume. Every thing that welfare money buys is taxed, so who are these freeloaders again?

The biggest freeloaders are congress.

Lets look at this bit of circular logic shall we?
"welfare queens pay taxes...."
With what( "pray tell") ?
oh yeah other tax payers' dollars. snatched by the IRS from their neighbors...
So you are actually short sighted enough to imply "welfare queens are funding themselves"????????????
puzzling logic these days...

the biggest monopoly in this country is by the federal reserve which was created by the left.

everyone blames the banks but the reality of the situtation

is that the federal reserve sets the rates for every loan, mortgage and credit card rate to every financial rate in this county.

the federal reserve is too big to fail and the financial woes are a combination of stupid presidents and the stupid federal reserve.

banks can do nothing without the government knowing it they are regulated are they not?

What you don't take into account is bureaucracy. I lost my house last year because I became disabled at work. The insurance company drug it's heels. Welfare on every level said it was the insurance companies responsibility and I couldn't take another job or the insurance would be invalid. The bank still wanted their money though. Bye bye housie. And family too if that matters.
