Clearly, the issue of U.S. guns being sent south of the border is a serious one, but STRATFOR does not believe that there is sufficient evidence to support the claim that 90 percent (or more) of the cartels’ weaponry comes from the United States. If it IS true that so many weapons are coming from the US, all the more reason for Mexico to secure their border with the US for themselves. Probably an awful lot of illegals and anchor babies smuggling these weapons back into Mexico far easier than running drugs in.
