Ok so I started an investigation thread on this ordinance and found that the park these aid workers were arrested in is next to the 90 million dollar developments of one of the people who got this passed through Mayor Buddy.
Heres the link if anyone is interested. Follow the money find the source.

It's the law, but there should be leniency towards these fools for not knowing EVERY statue, law, ordinances, whatever. Also, there is the law of karma: Let the homeless be the way they are. It's their choice to be in that condition, no matter how "altruistic" people may be around them. The homeless are like addicts, who can't be stopped from doing what they want --- be homeless.

Biggest load ignorance I have seen today.
I was homeless at 16. Did I choose this? No. Would a real estate rent to a 16 year old? No. Does a 16 year old have time to go to school and work hours or in fact have the skills to get a job and maintain it without a home? No. You sir have lived in your ivory tower to long.
How about all the homeless with mental illness? How do they choose to be in their situation.
The superiority complex of some people is astounding. You do not go out one day and go Dang I wanna be homeless.
If it was not for people like those arrested I would have probably resorted to doing unsavoury things to get food in my always hungry teen belly. I don't know if your a troll or if your mimicking a script someone once said to you but walk a mile in their shoes mate and get off your high horse.

i am give a man a fish you feed him for a day teach a man how to feed and you fed him for a lifetime crowd.

Here's the thing though... Some of Us are well-trained to "fish." But there's no "fishing holes" available. In other words, well trained, capable people cannot find jobs. You would spit on Their misfortune? You think that although the unemployment is much greater than They report and many are in that "no jobs" boat, that that is Their fault? What? They're too lazy to make an employer create a job for Them?

You need to develop some compassion, methinks.

You said it! I went homeless after being laid off and going through my savings, all while applying to 25-50 jobs a day and not being hired. It was NOT a choice I made. It was a situation forced on Me.

If it was not for people like those arrested, I would be dead. Frozen in an alley in the depths of winter, most likely.

And yes, it would do many good who think, in this economy especially, that no compassion is warranted to those now struggling, to be homeless and hungry. Too many now do indeed ride high horses around.

What lens are YOU looking through? I was homeless - I did not choose it. I volunteered at the homeless shelter here (in gratitude for Their help when I needed it), and most people were victims of the economy and, like Me, could not find work to (literally) save Their lives.

Addicted??? Oh, I cannot tell You how many people I met who wanted nothing more than to have a job and the life that dropped out from under Them back.

Maybe You should volunteer at YOUR local shelter. Maybe Your fantasy concocted with Your eyes closed will see the light of truth when Your eyes open.

It's ridiculous laws like this that kinda take me back to elementary school. Back then the rules were more often then not just plain ridiculous. We'd be at lunch and when you get 200 ten year olds together at lunch after a few hours of being shut up in a class room, they're damn well going to talk. We didn't get particularly rowdy or anything, but there were always anal teachers walking around telling us to shut up. Sometimes we'd have to eat lunch in total silence.

Anyway, my point is life is like elementary school...a lot of BS rules and if you don't follow them you get screwed.

Something given has no value?

Tell that to the poor, the down-trodden, and the hungry.

No wonder our world is so #ed up. Its because of people with the same attitude as yours.

Pathetic.

give me a break we live in one of the most shallow times of society.

the facts here those 3 are above the law and if you condone that behavior then you think you are above the law.

yeah the law is stupid.

the biggest problem in this country is because to many people think they are above the law.

the fed 25 people and they went over if they do not like the laws then get them changed.

The source article states that this was exactly what they were doing here. They had fought the law and lost and this was an organized protest.

On a positive note, the police actually waited until everyone had been fed before the arrests were made. Due to the nature of the case, the police really had no choice but to enforce the law. They had been allowing the feedings to continue for five years in spite of it.

Good luck to FNB in fighting this, it sounds more like a problem with the judges than the police.

what people like those and possibly yourself fail to see is the promotion of dependency.

i liken this to a zoo feed the animals domestic them and if they ever get turned back into the wild they cant survive from the morality imposed on them by people like them.

not very humane in my opinion

This has got to be the most stupid thing I have ever seen. Keeping the homeless fed means that they wont have to illegally pan handle or commit crimes for that extra bit of money to get food in their stomachs. I thought America was a Chirstian nation? Jesus feeding the hungry has always been an example of christ helping those in need. These idiots who sanctioned these arrests seem to be forgetting what country that they are in. I hope that there is nothing less than total outrage over this incident.

If that park and area,

Are not now full every morning with people turning up to give breakfast and food to these guys,

Well they have won, and you accept then as citizens the use of Law, Police and state to enforce you to encourage starvation on fellow American's.

To accept this is then to deny ANY human rights you may have yourself to, in deference to uniforms and bits of paper. And it is no good complaining or coming on boards such as these, as this type of control, division and breaking of Human Rights when the Net widens to include your right to free speech carrying guns whatever.

To me it's simple this is so horrendous and against human nature, as an American you HAVE to get involved in this or shut up in the future if any of your rights are every threatened.

Has soo many similarities to how every Dictator or mad government starts division in the population to control, compartmentalize and disperse any community spirit left, Its how Hitler, Pol Pot and all the other tyrants of History started the road to complete Totalitarianism.

Though this is not getting much attention on MSM or even here, to me it is a very important thing, esp the reaction to this as pointed out, Americans you have a choice,

More food for all or More bombs/law/control/wars/division/poverty.

More food for all and make your stance known, or choose lack of freedom human rights and the opposite of what is the normal human reaction.

Take your Pick

Have they one, the next day or two will be very telling.

I am sure 99.9% will read this put the simpsons back on and order a domino....

Kind Regards,

Elf

Thats so dumb, so they say that its illegal to do this activity, but then allow it to happen and make arrests afterwards?!?! Surely if its not legal they must do all they can to stop it happening. These police officers should have made a stand and said to their supiriors 'sorry but we had more important things to do at the time' like KEEP THE PUBLIC SAFE AND CHASING DOWN REAL CRIMINALS! Not these harmless guys. Then again the govt prob want the homeless to starve to death so show that if you dont play the game then you gotta be prepared to be another prisoner on the streets.

Why not just call it a picnic? Police can't stop picnics. The organizers can eat too, and just happen to share their food with people that come by. In any case, the people arrested should purposely go to trial, get Ramsey Clark or someone high profile to represent them, and keep on feeding the homeless who gather to observe the trial.

Ok, Officer Sheeple riddle me this. The ecomy is going to sh***t. The state has to cut back on expences so they take you job in the process. You can't find an other job so your wife finally realizes what a looser you are and leaves with the kids. You're forced to pay child support but you don't have a job. You loose your home and end up on the street. You're hungry but have no money. What do you do? You starve morron 'cuz you arrested the ones that would of cared in the first place.
