When Joshua died he was just 15. He didn't get to drive, although I did let him on the back roads and we had a lot fun! He did not have a sexual experience, nor did he go on a date. He wanted to use his brother as a babe magnet (not that he needed it). He was very good looking, awesome personality and I can't believe I am still alive to tell the painful story. It was horrific! :-(

I am telling you this only to share a glimpse of pain. The pain and sorrows of lifes lessons are so hard!

When I saw the "bigger picture" I had began dating a cage fighter who was not only fine as wine but wow....he was all that and then some. He was even a Jesus freak" Had a tat of Jesus on the cross all down his back and would tell people, "Jesus has my back". There is actually a lot more to this story....but long story short..
He was taken from us by the flood last year that only happens every 1000 yrs they say (Tennessee). I started going to a church of all places to see Danny (God forgive me) more. I met his mom and everything was peachy. My first day attending church the Pastor talks about the "Big Picture". Tells a story of a man who works with a bridge lift. Every time a train goes by he lowers the lift and so on. One day he brings his son, and while his son is playing the father is doing his job. Train comes and he lowers the bridge...but his son is below and when he lowers the bridge down he sees his son yelling please help! What are you doing daddy? He thinks quickly about saving his son or the hundreds on the train. He saves the hundreds. Do you think his son saw the bigger picture at the time? No....he only saw his dad was killing him. His perception did not have the "bigger picture".

Now I tell you this because I sought him my own way after Josh died. I went to the library and read for years. It is what I needed. Being with Danny that day is what I needed to. The why was answered that day in church. There is a bigger picture that we do not see nor can we fathom. Trust there is a plan and the plan is a good plan that is indeed a win win.

Seek ....and you will find more than you expected. I guarantee it! This Universe is nothing but magical and in perfect harmony with everything in it. If more positivity and or love was put into the Universe, more would come back to us. The evil doers (negative by nature and not willing to change) will have no place here once the law of cause and effect is placed into full effect. We have only been promised by the words that were put forth in the Bible. Jesus Christ is who I place my bet on and who I follow because through out History I think he is the coolest man of all time! ;-) His words are music to my ears!!!

My intention was to not bore you and so sorry If i did. ;-)

lsiten please.....I have lived a life subjected to every one of those things that you just mentioned but i did go into detail about it in other threads which there are many to sift through. The thing is this: If the one thing that could set you free was giving up your free will and returning it back to it's rightful owner, wouldnt that be the one thing that you were to be kept far away from if there were eople using that fear aginst you?

Give it back or not.........Your choice........youll make it through your actions not your mind........

How can you contend that my posts have been at all "off-topic?" I clearly understood your OP, and responded that, if indeed, willingness to give up one's free will leads to God, that in my own experience it hasn't. I abhor my freewill. I deny that my happiness can be found through it. I am not young, and have been calling to God for many years, through many different philosophies and techniques...He remains silent.

How is patting people on the back who have "found" what you have, and dismissing those who have dismissed your message, "important work?" If you really have something to offer, which I seriously doubt at this point, you would be offering it to someone who is seeking it.

This a great story, even sad as it is, what MamaJ is sharing is a piece of the heart. It takes courage to share things as this, but to share that which is painful to help others is very noble. Out of the blue, and totally unconditional sharing of feeling. How can one not feel anything while reading?

Agnosticism is not a "belief on God". It is an honest expression of "not knowing" or claiming to know. I believe it is the only true state of one who has not found God. Otherwise you are a pretender, or worse, a false teacher. One can certainly be both agnostic and a seeker without contradiction.

In that case then you have my apology......In my defence there are a lot of people who thought being agnostic meant the alternative....

If that is the case than every single response i made to you is now void......

I just saw "Tornado in Springfield, Massachusetts," in the city. That's 3 major cities hit so far.

If there is a 4 or 5, we'd be well-advised to re-evaluate current intelligence and theories of "everything."

This was the "surge" in the "Force," I felt about an hour ago.

Something "snapped-up" or "increased" in intensity and was "felt," I'll let you know more as soon as things figure-out.

You cannot guarantee it. I am not young, and I have spent quite a lot of my life seeking. I often feel as though I should have focused more on material success or romantic love, or some of the many others things life has to offer.

I hope you're right, but don't you think it's a bit presumptuous to guarantee that if I seek, I will find...I know, Jesus said it too, but...that has not been my experience...perhaps today's the day, right?

In all honesty, I'm messed up pretty badly from early childhood. I think that was the message of my "spiritual experience" (which occured over twenty years ago) The feeling I got from ":God" was one of pity. Like it was too bad I didn't have the capacity, and he didn't blame me...was sad for me.

It was the most terrible thing I've ever experienced, and it was powerful, and it seemed very real at the time.

As the OP has implied, I am a spiritual "child" --maybe it is the time for meat, instead of milk, but I apparently can't digest it.

A Jehovah's witness once came into my house...(I have been very, very open to everything, being lost) He claimed to "spiritually see" that I was broken...and not fit for the Kingdom of God....I mean, really, who has that experience...I feel that that's the OP's take on me as well...

a wasted cause.

That's fine, I can't really argue with him.

The question is really: "do you believe in god".
If a person believes in god your thread makes sense, if he/she doesn't then it is just much ado about nothing.
