I invented a term for those who keep posting "Elenin proven to cause warts" type threads.

They are "NINny Trolls".

Feel free to use the term, but only for those who deliberately post untruths as if they were fact. Don't use it on the genuinely confused or unknowing.

Funny you should mention NINny Trolls. In perusing one of the several myriad Elenin threads today, just for grins and giggles, I happened across this post in which a long time ATS member was "outed" as "Psyops" - UNLESS he can somehow prove he's not... - and all because he was applying.... GASP!... logic, rational reasoning, and science that completely contradicted the premise of the thread (you know the drill "the sky is falling and WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!")

The NERVE of science, getting in the way of a damn good conspiracy! It's a grand example of just what this thread is about!

Sad thing is it goes both ways. I made a thread dismissing chemtrails because it seems almost impossible for layman to make heads or tails of it, and I was instantly treated like an idiot by trolls who didn't even read the thread! Apparently my pictures were too distracting and they just assumed I was in support of the chemtrail conspiracy.

I did wear the "BOT" avatar for a few days after being accused.
I figured if I was going to be accused I might as well look & play the part then the same accuser then claimed it was reverse psychology to throw people off.

Your 4th post was chock full of information, and for that I thanked and starred you. The other 3, entirely speculative and unnecessary. No one on the internet offends me, I do not take comments of forums personalty, yet when comments hinder intellectual dialect I do mind. My OP was speculative, but if you read what I said you would realize there was no need for any cited facts or sources. I was simply stating my feeling on chemtrails and trying to persuade my peers to lighten up on the issue. There is no need to impair that cause.

I so enjoyed your thoughts!! I research constantly for knowledge, I am like a sponge that way.. I want to know.. I want to learn...some people think I am crazy.. just go with the flow... what difference does it make... there is nothing you can do about anything so why bother...don't question things because its all laid out for you by the government and the powers that be...I hear that all the time..

I read everything good and bad.. and YES you are right there are so many people spewing hate and crap and my lord I think pick up a book buddy once in a while lol... You tube has an incredible amount of very strange comments... makes me laugh at least... I wish people were more curious, ask more questions, wonder once in a while...maybe even fight the flow... it makes for a more intelligent person and more whole I think

Good find. There are a few threads I believe on the topic of that link..

Be wary of multiple account trolls, this site is littered with them.
Finding them is hard, dealing with them once you do is easy.
If you have the knowledge it takes to do it stay vigilant and help make ATS a better place.
If you can't call them out without breaching T&C alert a mod and share your evidence with them.
This is a BIG site and extremely hard to keep moderated, it needs all the help it can get.

I don't know that I agree with THIS, at least not to the degree that you suggest by the wording.

There are quite a few, but If I had to assign a percentage to it, less than 5%. It's been my experience that most are straight forward members.

Plus I don't think policing it is quite as difficult as you make it out to be either.

There is a BIG difference between a person with multiple accounts and a troll.
Arguing with the same person with three different user names sucks.
Watching banned people reappear just for the sake of disrupting intelligent conversation sucks.
Expecting an unpaid mod to catch every person trying to troll you under different persona's sucks.
People that advocate these things imho suck.

Ah, I thought this thread was passin on like dust in the wind but you guys are still kickin' so I decided to drop my dumb azz back in to the mix.
