Sounds like you just got dumped. Oh well, such is life. Get up and move on. I have had my share of girlfriends, never expected them to live to my ideal. For the most part, except for one, we parted friends when our paths diverged. All have said they should have married me when they had the chance.

Opps, to late, I've moved on.

Still single, retired, no kids, no bills and many ladies think I'm quite the catch, for someone who considers himself a Neanderthal troll..

The first thing that came to my mind was that the OP is gay. I'm not name calling or anything, that's just the vibe I got.

When I came back to the states in '85 after being in Europe for a few years, I have to admit that I didn't like American women too much either. My reasons were more sexual in nature, but still, I had my reasons.

But after a few years of "indulging in different cuisines" if you will, I came to realize something. There is no such thing as "American women." And this is a claim you can only make here in America as there is no other country in the world (with the possible exception of Australia, 25%of their population is immigrant) that has such a vast representation of different cultures.

There are women my friend. Period. Some are good, some not so much, and some are just downright filth, just like men.

Threads like this and some of the comments therein make me want to hug my husband and say, 'Thank you, Honey, for being a real man who loves and respects me as a life companion and recognizes me as a human being who also has needs and doesn't just see me as some meek little creature that follows him around doing his bidding while saying Yes sir!.'

I generally roll my eyes and move along at the 'American Woman' rants and how foreign subjugated women are so more attractive but this one intrigues me.

Some general rebuttals:

1). Yes, women are often attracted to the tall strapping men. It's just a fact. Likewise, men are often attracted to the curvy women with large breasts, shapely hips, and long hair. Men can be pigs with how they feel a woman should look and heaven help a woman who doesn't fit their ideals. So I think things are kind of even on this one.

2). Marriage benefits the female more? Actually, not really. Even statistics show that married women live on average of 7 years less than unmarried women and married men live on average of 7 years longer than unmarried men. Not to mention, in the past, women generally didn't work outside the home. But now they often have their own careers AND they are still mainly responsible for child rearing, house cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, etc. While married men do their usual 9 to 5 then their day is over. So I strongly disagree that marriage benefits women more.

3). You say men have to be good leaders, funny, intelligent, etc. while women are just expected to 'look good.' What you don't realize is that works AGAINST women. What if a woman doesn't look good? I have seen insanely intelligent women, successful in their careers, strong leaders, with charismatic personalities get reduced to nothing because they're 'not hot.' How unfair is that? Men can at least get judged in other aspects but even you admit that for women, it all boils down to their level of attractiveness.

Etc., etc.

Not to mention the irony in such rants always makes me chuckle. It always sounds like 'Boo hoo! Western men are trivialized so let me hope to find a trivialized and subjugated Eastern female to sooth my bruised ego.' Oh well. Calling Hubby now to tell him I love him.

I have 5 older sisters and am the only male amongst them. I was bitter before I knew what girls were for. That’s a joke ladies…


I have asked them what they look for in a man or why their marriage has either succeeded or failed. The answers are quite diverse. I ask because listening to those who have gone before you can offer great incite.

The things they all have in common:
They want a partner who is good to them and family.
They want financial stability. Who wouldn’t?

To a tee, they all said they have learned to love their husband after marriage. The ones divorced are still bitter.

Me? I’m looking for an equal in life, not a competitor, well, maybe to a certain degree. Work hard and play hard. Probably why I’m still single, but I’m still enjoying myself and have not given up hope.

I would venture to say that it helps to be a adult male when trying to have a relationship with an adult female.

I would be willing to bet, that the vast majority of women who disagree with you, ie, like a fun loving guy, etc. either have been married already (divorced) or currently are single parents with children... these would be the ones who have found Jesus and want stability. However, single, beautiful women, for the most part will not give 98% of men the time of day...

1. Men have to be tall, confident, handsome, perfect teeth, strong, no issues, fit, funny, leader, and manly. (Women just have to look nice.) It's sad so many women think they have it worse in this area

Mainly I just want to use that Americanism "grow a pair"... Really. If you want to get a Japanese mail order bride, you're in for quite a surprise. As my ex found out when he left his 3rd wife (I was number 2) for the Asian mail order bride - Asian women can be quite assertive when they need to be. It's not all "me so horny", you loser!

Ah yes, Manipulating my thread are we? You see by stating that "I want women in the kitchen", you've pretty much secretly trying to turn the average minds against me. Women always manipulate by wording what they say.

I don't want women in the kitchen no, no ,no, I just want you to evolve. It's primitive how women say they date taller guys because they "feel" protected (not realizing a rapist will shot your boyfriend and rape you anyway). Protection is an illusion.
