I find it disgraceful that people took time out of their lives to mock an old man and his beliefs but don't have the cajones to stand up to the oppressing government that has a boot on their neck.

You don't agree with him fine, I don't either but does it give you satisfaction to kick a senile old man while he is down?

I hope you'all feel all tough and stuff.

Disgraceful.

I totally agree, Camping is a pretty harmless man, so it is an easy target...

Great pics!
In one sense I think fair play to Harold Camping. He did what he thought was right, I don't believe there was any malice in it.
On the other hand he really put this message out there. What goes around, comes around and now it's the skeptics turn.
Ultimately it's a good lesson for folks to be a little more discerning. Just because someone talks a good talk and 100% believes what they say - don't make it so.

Backing the wrong horse may cost you dear.

Of course he had somewhere to go-the bank to get out all that money he conned people out of. I just hope someone arranges a personal meeting between him and God. This guy is a criminal who rips people off under the guise of religion. And that puts him somewhere between a cockroach and a child molester in my book

That is still no reason to harras the old geezer after his "mistake", he embarresed himself in front of the whole world, lost a lot of money in his advertising campaign and probably lost all his credibility, isn't that just enough?

People should leave him alone instead of going out to harras him, they are probably even so arrogant that they think they've got the right of doing it also, it is just extremely childish....

No, he made himself a public figure, he took money from people he need to pay for his deeds, but taking into consideration his advance age I am sure the stress of the situation could be deadly for him.

This will teach others no to play with Innocent trusting people.

I know, but the feelings of regret, shame and stress are just more than enough punishment for this old guy. That mob of dumb people in front of his office is just..... Dumb ?

It wasn't just enough for him to know this supposed date right? Ask yourself for a second why a man would go looking for the date and then instead of just letting the rapture happen and take those whom it deem worthy.

Then also on top of it all he felt it also necessary to not only get the word out, but had to get a site and ask for donation with out a warning not to spend everything.

Even if to save lives, none should ever have to sacrifice theirs for others. A true hero does not try to save one or two lives, but all life in my opinion. if he wants to take responsibility and be a good guy, he should start a apology as this has not just hurt the believers but their family's, friends and those connected to them as well.

My point is...Marg...that it seems totally OK and funny, to mock all Christians in the process of mocking this old man. I find it offensive and hypocritical, why is it ok to mock Christians but not muslims? I'm sick of it!
I dare you to start a thread mocking an Imam and see how fast in gets "moved" to the trash bin.

I am not mocking Christians my friend, I mock those that make a living taking advantage of the hopes of believers, stealing hopes and capitalizing on them.

I am very much against Islam if you have ever read any of my post on that issue you will understand my stand point.

But this no about Muslim or Islam is about Christians been taken advantage off.

Maybe people should "think" first instead of blindly following someone.....

"Thinking" is a rarity these days.....

Thinking and life is what makes people go crazy, in these words you can find truth " By William Shakespeare
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" . By your own words, is what makes people draw closer to these false prophets, maybe you should just stop thinking, tell others to stop thinking and enjoy life.

P.S. to be happy you should just live, and do what you got do. that's all folks.

fantastic reporting. I am glad you live close to this event. It's nice to have an ATSer with boots on the ground for such a large event. Did you get any information as to when the next Rapture will be?

Taking hope and capitalizing on them...

Isn't that what every single one of them "ministers" and their concerts of people being "healed" by shaking violently and flopping like a fish? They make millions off the gullible people and their broken hopes.

Heck, the whole world economy is based on screwing people over. Isnt that basically what "business" is? See who you can get the most amount of money out of any way possible. Ethics is a thing of the past it seems.

Its sad, but this Camping guy just did what thousands before him have done, and thousands after him will continue to do. As long as there is people with the IQ of a rock there will be people whose sole purpose is to take advantage of them.
