Still odd the Police are effectively saying it wasn't terrorism related. Now HAZMAT teams clearing up the mess from the first explosion, bomb-disposal squads around the Marina finding chemicals in a flat where the suspect lived. not to mention these counter-TERRORISM units being dispatched to the Nuclear Power Station with everyone inside being told to evacuate. Its not a bomb threat to the Nuclear Power Station (as bomb squad would have been called instead), but enough to warrant weapons going in, as a internal threat possibly exists.

I can't find anything on the power plant......anyone?

Apparently it happened at 3am, but nothing at all on the news. Only able to find a bit of info on twitter, but even then not much.

The two local papers have reported it more as a suicide than an attack. Nothing on any news source about the nuclear plant.

Funny thing. I googled it, and it gave me the two local papers articles, and said 5 other articles. Before I could click, these disappeared. I refreshed the page but they didn't re-appear

I had to google the northern echo to find the story. Tried looking up the reporter on twitter but he hasn't tweeted since '09.

I'm surprised there isn't anymore information about this. Even on my works bbc ticker they have something about someone eating his 25'000 bigmac but nothing on this.

I work for a large courier company so just phoned our depot that covers the Hartlepool area & they aren't aware of anything happening either. Strange!

News disappearing and camera's off?

It's looking like there is something they don't want us to see.

When they do this sort of thing, don't they realise only it attracts more attention?

Only twitter feeds, but I trust the sources locally than the blackout by the msm right now.

alert

A blurb from the 5th of may about the station (and others i assume) going on high alert after 5 men were arrested on terrorism charges at Sellafield. I believe the arrests made it to MSM. The article is from 5th may.

I wouldnt get carried away yet, it couldjust be that the guys job required him to posses chemicals that can be harmful when detonated. And as far as the terrorism goes? Its just proceedure. Someone set fire to my flat and left a small very amature attempt at a nail bomb in the car park after throwing it at somone and anti terror police aparently investigated, although I only ever saw CID. Its just proceedure with explosions, but that being said you never know.

Terrorism is never procedure. Especially when it relates to counter-terrorism units responding and evacuating a Nuclear Power station 2 miles away from where HAZMAT teams are decontaminating.

A recent tweet:

Hearing the police have found plans in a flat down the marina to blow our power station up in Hartlepool, hope this isn't true.

Perhaps you have 'instant search' on .. where it updates results in real time as you type ...
I always switch instant search off .. it annoys me
