UNCONFIRMED from Twitter
two more bombs found!
Nuclear power station now evacuated apparently

Its not often police are decontaminated after being sent to the scene. And it's not a conventional method of using chemicals to wipe the intended target out knowing that the explosives would do the job more efficiently.

"Friends have been posting on Facebook and Twitter saying that the guy who died in the car explosion lived in that flat and it may have chemicals inside it.

"There's about half-a-dozen police down by the marina now."

More reports coming from social networking sites say that ambulance crews and police officers have been decontaminated following the car explosion in the early hours of this morning.

as a precaution

Nothing wrong here, just following procedure, they don't know what the situation is.

Of course this could have been a 'failed suicide bomber heading for a nuclear plant', or some other fairy tale.

Nothing on the MSM in the U.S. about it yet. I really hope there is nothing to this. If so, all our friends in the U.K. stay safe.

Decontamination at the scene?

Strange, I'm gonna stay tuned.

ALS

Found this PDF, seems the only decontaminate if there is a connection to Nuclear, biological or chemical agents.

Thanks for the heads up, s&f.

What is this? I hope it's nothing, just a guy that had enough of life and blew himself up?
Intersting, will watch it.

There is nothing much on that road. It leaves a housing estate and leads to a couple of cemeteries that I think are no longer used. There's also the remains of a couple of factories that are being demolished. One which I believe used to bend steel and the other used to remove Magnesium from sea water. It's usually pretty deserted up there.

It's also at the opposite end of town to the Nuclear power station.

Hmm. According to Google Maps, it's a relatively short drive down there from Navigation Point. By going down the A178, according to Google, it's about a 20 minute drive.

On the other hand, with a car loaded with TATP (pure speculation, not mentioned anywhere), I wouldn't venture on a 20 minute drive, let alone in a Nissan Micra.
