Alien Invasion, you're in charge, what do you do?

I would have my military scientists design a deadly virus that only attacks there DNA and order it to be distributed world wide in secret. That should make em mad lol.

I find the responses to this thread to be very telling. Apparently humans are selfish, spineless, and self-centered as ever. Nearly all the responses are to give into the demands of the aliens and make sure you are sacrificing someone you don't like, don't know, and certainly don't care for.

Now when I apply this line of thinking and change one word; Aliens to Government, these answers become very scary.

They essentially say what I noted above:

I will submit to your demands of genocide of fellow human beings to save my own skin since we have inferior defenses to your technology if you kill someone else.

Not the attitude I would hope for from the average human being but I suppose, one I should not be surprised by.

Interesting dilemma.....

1. Issue my own ultimatum.... They agree to take only willing volunteers (as vetted by us) (there would be plenty), and we agree not to send half our nukes to their mothership. (I don't care what kinds of shields they got, I'd be willing to see what that amount would do to them). And, we agree not to send the other half of the nukes and every bio agent known to man to destroy ourselves and our own planet rather than be dictated to....

(they obviously want the third for SOMETHING, so they probably don't really want to destroy the planet...I'm calling their bluff).

2. In exchange for these volunteers, we want the secret of interstellar space travel. How it works, how we can duplicate it. For failure to comply here, see number 1.

(If we're gonna die anyways, might as well try and turn it around into a position of power).

3. Any hesitation on their part means we capture all delegates but one, sending the one back to his people to urgently persuade them we are serious. (the ones we capture, we interrogate, cut open, examine, etc.).

Tell them to Zap Washington, District Of Criminals and they can have all the Gold they want......

In reality, if there is one here, don't worry about any aliens...You were once one...and in reality, still are..If they do come they will not come to harm anyone unless TPTB have pissed them off so bad and told them so many lies already....and screwed them out of anything good they had for all of us...If a so-called invasion takes place it will be from TPTB and their minions... and I say blast the bastards out of the sky...

Hey, why not FIGHT BACK, or go down TRYING???

I would order all civilian human beings to disperse in an even ratio all over the planet, institute a draft for construction of fiber optic cables to link every human being to one another on the backbone that is already the internet, this will hopefully turn Earth into a giant sensory organ impervious to simple EMP as well as prevent viral genocide hopefully. Physical contact between non-family groups is prohibited until further notice and every government willing would be integrated into every civilian population willing.

Another draft to add to the military for combat ready humans, disperse them into small specialist armies also separated by even distances. Organize all anti-aircraft military assets and protect them heavily.

Another conscription for everyone who ever wanted to learn everything they can about secret technology and fringe science in a month. Get anything I can out of that, if possible.

Ready and retrofit every warhead and ballistic missile available to be launched into orbit, and attack targets there.

Stop feeding and caring for prisoners, and release all who are willing to work for the future of mankind and build the infrastructure needed. All crimes except the most horrendous and violent will be pardoned, this will be the defining moment of mans character and possibly his redemption.

Reactivate all military aircraft available and train pilots. The more military experience, the better plane you get.

Set a large number of nuclear warheads to destroy Earth on a moments notice as a fail safe, if we don't get our planet... no one will. All control systems for this doomsday device will be through fiber optics, behind a thick conduit made of lead and magnetic fields.

Begin construction of a large number of EMP weapons and delivery systems, which might aid in fending off a grey goo scenario.

Send a message back to the ETs saying "No humans for you, come get em".

A better idea might be to wait until they start loading up humans, with that massive number of humans there are bound to be flaws in their transport system. In this case, I would organize a massive infiltration campaign with those exact humans they are trying to 'harvest', for whatever purpose.

I will make it hell on them, and they may move on to another species.

GOAL: Make it more costly to try and overtake us than what they hope to gain by enslaving 1/3rd of Earthlings or destroy us, as well as turn Earth into one giant rebellious hive mind mentality.

First I'd ask for a little more time based on the fact they waited this long
and then I'd sponsor a huge game show that features the pluses and minus of different places on Earth and then I'd vote - not whole countries, but individual cities within whole countries off.
Take cities like Chicago, Detroit and Cuidad Juarez and just get rid of them right off the bat.
Rome? Should we keep it? Lets take a vote.

Make it fun, fair (well as much as possible) and something everyone can participate in.

Course aliens may not be good for their word and those of us who stay may be the unlucky ones but hey - that's half the excitement of playing the game.

Refuse. Use the month to build up defences, set up safe houses/colonies on and hopefully off planet, and attempt to fight, aswell as trying to make it not worth their while, possibly by convincing enough humans to fight to the death rather than be captured so they don't get what they wanted.

If an alien race showed up 'demanding' to take one third of earth's population or else, I'd say it's a safe bet they would want to choose who they took for whatever their purposes are and informing the powers that be would only be a stand back and watch or fight it and die ultimatium.

Really if they wanted a food source, they aren't gonna want unhealthy people, the elderly or addicts of any kind, etc. If they want to repopulate, no one over say 35 would be chosen to go. Without knowing their motives it would be impossible to comply a list of who should be 'taken'......they'd say who, when and where. I say, screw you and the ship you rode in on and give them the proverbial finger. If it was to 'save' some of humanity same thing, they'd chose who they want, not us.

1. Order the building of humanitarian bases in Antarctica.
2. Make a worldwide public announcement explaining the situation and tell all volunteers to get to their local airports (military and civilian), where purpose built C-5 Galaxies are awaiting.
3. When the operation is complete, if the required number is reached, I'd say it's a done deal.
4. If not, tell ET to take it or leave it.

Either way, I will have diverted all income towards the possible war effort.

I would call NORAD and determine if the US nuclear capabilities are intact and ready to go.

Scramble 80 percent of air force at the same exact time in strategic locations or places of alien hostilities.

Mobilize ground units hours after the air force has been met with resistance.

Have MLB play their schedule as normal so I could watch 1 last NY Mets debacle just for ole times sake.

Get on ATS and say goodbye to all the wonderful ppl I have chatted with over the years.

Somewhere prior to the last action, I would ingest a load of illegal drugs and drink some cold Becks while listening to a D () () l' S album.
