Antartica : explosion in Neumayer Research Obesrvatory.

OP, you maybe onto something but

1. I do not see any evidence of flames...the light is too bright to be a flame

2. That bright light phenomena lasted for 3 hours and left the building without any residue

3. the glare of the object producing that light on the lens of the camera seems like an outdoor lamp...its clearly visible

Hey there! I've been frequenting the Neumayer 24 hour webcame and came across something interesting this morning. I am unsure of what this could possibly be, as it can be seen from both the north and northeast facing webcams.

I captured these 3 consecutive shots taken from the north side of the base










The same black object is visible in this video as well.






I'm not even going to speculate outside of my own head quite yet...anyone have any ideas what this could be?

That's just artifact for digital cameras because it was focused on the sun. I dont know if you yourself have experienced this before but it happens quiet often..google "why does the sun appear as a black dot on digital camera". The glare of the sun is clearly visible

What's going on in that research station? Is this the same story, or another explosion event down there?
