Thread of the day...nah, Thread of the week! well done.

Why thank you

I have seen every launch since I was a kid practically, minus the time I lived down south, but this is the first time I have ever been at the KSC to view it from this area. It was really amazing!

Awe thanks Mars1, I have always liked you as well! You always make me laugh and I love your name and avy!
Aliens and Mars, my two favorite combos! Someone made a joke in chat last night how the only man for me is a martian lol hehe...

There is actually one more launch in July, Atlantis. It was being moved to the VAB this morning around 8am. Right now employees are taking pics
oh how I WISH I was there taking pics! I can see the VAB from my balcony and I just know they are all there taking cool pics with the last shuttle that will ever go up..that is until the new orbiter is designed and built. I am envious! I was really happy to be there yesterday, I have never been that close to anything out there.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I always wanted to see a shuttle launch in person, and your video does a great job of capturing what it would like to be standing there watching.

I did get to visit the Kennedy Space Center once, it was amazing, and I had so much fun, took the whole tour and got to see Discovery, that was cool.

I went to the KSC once in 1999 and back then you could go right up to the launch pads and view, now you can't. There is one more launch. I hope to be there for that as well.

Astral roads? Are you talking about astral projection and the astral plane?

Please explain.

There is one more launch after this, Atlantis will go up in July sometime. A set date hasn't been determined.

The shuttle orbiters were old and out dated. They are going to redesign newer more modern ones for future missions. From what I have been told from friends who work on these programs it will be about 5yrs. The shuttles have been taking supplies up to the ISS so that it has enough supplies for the next 5yrs. The US will still be working with other countries and people will still go up, mostly to go to the ISS and do service to it if need be but it won't be launched by the US, but other countries involved in the space programs overseas..such as the ESA (European Space Agency). I think it will be a nice opportunity for other countries to get into space.
