Although I think that Napoleon would not think twice above framing DSK as he is known over here, he has a reputation of being a womaniser. He certainly has an eye for the ladies and is well known for his attempts at seduction. In fact, the French news is buzzing this morning. Another woman has come forward with claims that he made unwelcome advances toward her.
Now, this could be a major set-up (as most French still think) or, it could be taken at face value. Although, as of yesterday, I was thinking set-up, I am now starting to bend toward the other theory. It is entirely possible that DSK just went a woman too far.

I agree completely. This is the sort of "diplomatic incident" that usually gets discreetly covered up. I suspect it made the news because the US government would rather see Sarko get re-elected than be replaced by another Socialist. Then again, maybe he simply doesn't understand that when an American woman says "no," she means "no!"
That's true of all women everywhere, so don't be so ignorant! Besides, I just heard on the BBC radio, that the woman is actually an immigrant from Africa. From what I see of American women on TV, they are not terribly fussy. They'll have sex with anyone who doesn't look like Jason Alexander!

No offense intended, I always assume that women make their boundaries clear, but not all societies recognize this fact. DSK is known as "The Seducer" in France, an admittedly phallocentric appellation intended as a compliment. The French media are beginning to play up the fact that the woman spoke French, suggesting that she may have been under the control of a French political faction. I suspect this whole affair has more to do with internal French politics than the fact that DSK is head of the FMI (IMF for Anglophones). Marine Le Pen seems to stand the most to gain here, and, since she's her father's daughter, I'm hoping she is exposed as being behind all this. (Unlikely as it is that she would employ an African!)

I don't keep up with the IMF, but I am seeing many articles on him that normally for someone of that prestige would be buried under tons of other news stories. Did he do something to stand in the way? Or have they been toying with other countries money so much that they had to get him out?
They seem to be tearing him up pretty good. Like a wounded fish in an ocean of sharks.
It is known that his diplomatic status was cancelled or revoked prior to coming to NYC by the State Dept.

Source, please. My understanding of the situation is that he only has diplomatic immunity if he is acting on official business for the IMF. Traditionally, this means he can park illegally if he is attending a meeting. Crimes like sexual assault are not generally covered by diplomatic immunity in any event; a country's consular corps will usually limit itself to providing legal assistance unless the charges are clearly contrived or the potential punishment unusually draconian.
