I think that all these TV shows on aliens and UFO's are training the public to think a certain way about those subjects. They all seem to pretty much have the same general message of fear. Most people already have a fear of something they don't understand. So these TV shows are feeding off of the fact that a lot of people are already a little scared of this subject.

You could be right about the fact that "they" want us to watch TV shows like this so that we keep thinking the way they want us to think about these subjects. The only source of information about these subjects for a lot of people would be these types of TV shows.

I do find stuff like this really entertaining though. I will make sure to record this show and watch it.

I guess the show wouldn't be as entertaining if it was peaceful contact. Well reckon I should stock up on old country yodeling music.

Better set my pvr to record. Thanks for the heads up.

Funny last night I watch a two hr show on the plausibility of big foot, it was very interesting, not the usual blurry jerky footage. Also on the discovery channel.

I have just watched it and I must admit I, laughed a few times, then I got very bored and I just stopped watching, as there was a really great thread on ATS.

Someone posted Independence Day documentary-totally agree.

Watch it and see how not to do it, these alien/demons will be activating their sleepers via the implants but I didn't see any of that happening in the program. LOL

I haven't seen this program yet, but from what I'm reading it sounds like its treating the subject of extraterrestrials seriously.

Yet National Geographic has gone out of their way in an attempt to debunk completely terrestrial and far more plausible 9/11 conspiracy theories.

History Channel is the same way. Attacking 9/11 theories but hyping ET conspiracy. It just goes on about ET material on a far more persistent basis.

Pretty hypocritical and a bit looney to beat the drum of a much more far fetched conspiracy theory than one that is quite down to earth.

Well, they are making the contactees look like the enemy. Like they are some kind of mancherian sleepers.
Is this suppose to be a senario of fiction or as a possibility?

The bigger question is why does SETI and our military promote these unrealistic scenarios?

I mean c'mon. When aliens attack? Really?
Why not promote something more positive like "what we could potentially learn from aliens."

If aliens attack we wouldn't even know what hit us. They could probably turn us off like a light switch. What would that honestly accomplish for our conscious evolution?

The fact that they haven't attacked us should be a clear sign to rational and intelligent people.

They do not promote positive scenarios because they want us to be afraid. If we are afraid some of us are easier to manipulate and control. More willing to let someone else take over and make all the decisions.

I am feeling very cynical tonight!

A more far fetched conspiracy but one that is more entertaining since most people really don't think an alien invasion would happen. It helps keep our minds off of what the more likely scenario is --that our own governments are lying and misleading us.

It is appallingly obvious that most posting in this thread, in their haste to embrace conspiracy, have given up thier ability to step back and understand a little something I like to call "reality".

Guys, your ignorant about how capitalism works, or willfully ignoring what that little voice in your head it trying to tell you...that there is no conspiracy here that money can't explain. The inability of this community to understand this BASIC concept leave little hope for the future of ufology.

Now, should I list the 1,001 other threads that try to link an alien/ufo show/movie to some sort of conditioning? I guess it has been going on since film was invented...not wait...since radio was invented...no wait, since the printing press was invented and science fiction took off. They have been "conditioning" us for some time now I guess, lol. GENERATIONS. I wonder what the secret cabal of "romantic comedies" and "spoof movies" are trying to condition us for?!?!? That has been going on since before Shakespeare for crying out loud.

It is FAR past time for us to get a grip and take back the reputation that we have earned that makes us all look like unthinking fools.

Watched part one of this show last night,
and while certainly entertaining,
was not impressed by storyline which I think was weak
and lacking in imagination.
Earth's combine military machines defeated
only to be saved by kamikazee soldiers levitating themselves up
to the large V type motherships using helium baloons.

Earlier in the program they tried to nuke the darned things
and the ships were protected with an energy shield.

How could a levitating human penetrate said shield,
when a nuke couldn't.

Good to see a program of this type
but severley lacking in creativity.

Haha it was a bit daft in the end, the humans evenually reign victorious by using balloons

Looks like this is gonna be a really busy weekend. So this airs on the 19th and 20th. The 21st is "supposed" to be the rapture according Family News Radio and Harold Camping. On the 22nd Anonymous is supposed to launch Operation UFO to hoax mass UFO sightings. And on the 23rd NBC airs the season (and sadly, the series) finale of The Event titled "The Arrival". Right now I'm hoping all these dates are a bit of a coincidence. Gonna stock up on the popcorn because this weekend is gonna be a helluva ride.

NBC may be cancelling The Event, but the Executive Producers are going to try and find a new home for it.

Heres the link: tvseriesfinale.com...

I hope they do, I love that show.

I think its very strange that The History Channel and National Geographic, two very well known and (formerly, imo) knowledgeably prestigious credible forms of media are turning all scifi and apocalyptic?? Or maybe it is just for entertainment purposes?

Ratings, Ratings, Ratings!! Like Mel Brooks admitted in SpaceBalls: It's all about merchandising. SpaceBalls T-shirts, SpaceBalls the breakfast cereal, SpaceBalls action figures, etc., etc.

In this case, it's capitalizing on trendy public sentiment to drive ratings up - and win over those hard-earned advertising dollars. Instead of SpaceBalls, it's EYEBalls! The more the better...

I agree.

Will the UN and all TPTB world governments just get on tv and say to us, "Ooops - sorry - we didn't think they actually existed...".

I call BS on that. There IS a plan. There MUST BE a plan. Well - where is it? Why can't WE see it? What are they hiding it for?

If there is a plan (which I doubt) it can't be a very detailed one unless they know what we will be up against (which I also doubt btw). But already existing plans can probably be modified to handle more un-earthly threats.

History channel has been pretty void of alien material of late. Every few weeks they air an old Ancient Aliens then forget the subject for a while and instead concentrate on Pickers or Pawn shops with a little 2012 stuff thrown in every once in a while for good measure. History channel is the first one I tune to when I turn on my TV. SyFy after that if nothing good is on. LOL.

Me too. Although I feel very differently about Sophia now than I did when the show first started. How do you think they will handle the plague?
