You're right, even to someone who knows nothing about potential world domination Libya did seem really rushed.

I also agree that the average person has never even heard of the IMF, which means most people won't see the potential for conspiracy in this incident.

Regardless of what the truth is, this guy is done.

The Guardian excerpt that you posted seems to fit with what Mike proposed, that possibly the US wants to take over the IMF.

The second excerpt you shared indicates that this incident leaves bailout funding up in the air. What are the ramifications of that? I hope you don't think that's a dumb question, I'm genuinely trying to learn.

Well, psychologically speaking, rape is not only about sex. Its about sex and power. If you pay someone for sex, they have a sort of power to demand a set amount of money from you. (And some people really look down on paying for sex, "you had to PAY someone to screw you?") But TAKING sex, is imposing your will on someone else. It satisfies a part of the psyche that consensual sex or paid sex does not. YOU are the powerful one, YOU are in control.

Its kind of like why people who can afford to buy things, (like Lindsey Lohan) shoplift. You are getting over on someone. Its self aggrandizing in a way. You are more clever, more powerful, more sneaky, just better than others.

With that said, I agree with those speculating that men like these do commit these crimes – but they usually get away with it. So that could be an indication that he has lost his protection (and I'm not talking about a condom here).

You explained the psychology of rape really well and it definitely makes sense.

At the risk of getting much too graphic though, isn't forcing someone to perform oral sex pretty implausible unless he had a weapon?

You are right and I was wrong, you can be smart and powerful and do really stupid, reckless things.

That being said, there are just too many motives and details that don't add up. I think this one is a conspiracy.

I personally have always thought that it would be the stupidest possible thing to do, force someone to perform oral sex on you. Unless they had no teeth.

But, I have heard of it being done more than once, even without a weapon. If you think of it in terms of power, it could be even more proof of your power, like someone who taunts and pokes a dog who COULD bite them, but who has been conditioned to be submissive and so allows itself to be abused.

Women, for whatever reason, conditioning, nature, seem less willing than men to go to the extremes in terms of physical violence that it would take to win against a bigger opponent. The human species is not terribly sexually dimorphic but there is a size difference. Men have an advantage, but not a huge one. But because of the advantage, a female entering a fight with a male would need to be willing to use much more potentially fatal force to ensure their success. (Ie hitting the head with an object, stabbing them, shooting them) You would have to be willing to go to the brink of killing them to make sure they did not hurt you worse for defending yourself, using their natural physical advantage.

Many women seem incredibly reluctant to take that step towards more permanent physical harm to win. And perhaps rightly so. The courts do not look favorably on it.

But bottom line, it is plausible that someone would be afraid of the consequences of biting someones willie off, depending on their own personality and physical size, and conditioning.

I think that if the offenders pen*s is shoved down deeply enough down the throat, the person being raped would be gagging and occupied with gasping for air (instead of biting). Sorry for being graphic, but it was a graphic question and as such demanded a graphic answer.

That other explanation, about women not wanting to inflict that kind of violence, also holds water.

And Reaching: I'm impressed that you did a 180 on the rapists intelligence-issue.

I believe this was arranged as revenge on this guy for participating in and being interviewed in "Inside Job", which won an oscar. He was critical of the banks, and told some truths.

Very true, and because most people have not actually bitten someones willie off, how could they be sure they would actually complete the act before the person beat the snot out of them? Or choked them? or broke their neck?

Its really high risk for the female, and how aggressive and sure of herself she was would play a big role in her willingness to take that risk.

What connections would this guy have to Greece? given they wanted the re-implication of their currency away from the EU. Something that Russia's Medvedev would have been opposed to, especially seeing Strauss-Kahn was a prime candidate in the polls as the next French President in 2012.

Glad they had the balls to arrest him. Funny though, do trillions in white collar crime that financially "rapes" millions of people and get billion dollar bonues. We still refuse as a society to recognize or take seriously white collar.

Its because the people who do white collar crime make the laws.

They care about physical violence, rape, murder, property crime, etc., because those are things WE can do to THEM. So those things are punished with a huge hammer. We cannot as easily commit white collar crimes against them, because we would have to get into their system to do it, and there is screening every step of the way to make sure only people like them get to the higher levels of their system.

Because those crimes are the crimes they are likely to perpetrate against us, they make sure that the punishments for them are basically token in nature. Enough to pretend that there is some kind of justice, but light enough so that there is no real justice in terms of cost benefit.

This woman couldn't escape the one-handed grip of a 62-year-old man? She chose to comply rather than scream?

How can a small group of people force policies down the throats of a very large group of people? When clearly they are a minority, and clearly those policies do not represent the will or good of the people? Sure, they have armies, but the fight is so unequal in number the majority is sure to win.

Because being trained to be fearful and submissive works. Im not sure why thats so difficult for you to understand when you see it on so many levels all the time. You see dogs who could rip the throats out of their masters tolerate mistreatment. You see women who could poison their significant others to death tolerate mistreatment for years. You see big strong men tolerate abuse and mistreatment at the hands of little Napoleons. You see large groups of people herded by smaller groups.

Fear, authority, consequences for failure, unwillingness to take the violence to the level necessary to win, etc. Its not really that rare.

That was my first thought too, don't know how we got into this discussion about oral sex. In my country (Sweden) it would be almost exclusively used for anal sex.
