As far as your other statements, when was the last time that you heard of the hurricane force winds, that can be created by a sirocco, went and wiped out a bunch of Arabs in order to accomplish God's will ,with perfect timing and precision ?

God sounds like an arsehole.

Despicable and racist and angry.

Doesn't sound like a god at all, to be honest.

I'm an atheist (thankfully) and this is my foxhole.

Sounds alot like what I think about Athiests...

Hmmm, seems you're not thinking properly then.
I'm not racist, nor generally angry, nor despicable. I get great pleasure by doing 'good works' for my fellow humans and animals without expecting reward.

I certainly don't go about saying that I will, essentially, wipe out some people and have my 'worshippers' supporting these actions due to some words from snake oil salesmen that have somehow become 'gospel' by threat, genocide, infanticide, fear-mongering and the war on terror type knee-jerk of "you're either with us or against us".

I live, love and laugh as well as experience the whole gamut without resorting to words in a book as guidance.
I give others the space to practice as well as debate with them, and yet (I guess I should be flattered) you equate me with god with your response.

If they do march on Israel then Israel will surely give them a taste of their violence. The Gog-Magog war will quickly be off and running.

I have had no doubts, all this Arab uprising going on was a ruse to attack Israel.

God be with Israel and smite these Arab terrorist.

God will protect His people.

Its interesting to me how Yahweh chose the Jews as "his people." It seems absolutely meaningless to me to worship a God that declared a separate race as his "chosen people."

Seems you do not know the Bible too well.

He claims the Israelites, aka Hebrews as his chosen people.

Anyone who believes in the God of the Hebrews is adopted into the fold.

Did I miss something? The Jews aren't the Hebrews?

No. The Jews are a subset. The tribe of Judah.

All Texans are Americans, but not all Americans are Texan.

All Jews are Hebrews, but not all Hebrews are Jews.

Pretty simple logic to follow, especially for someone who claims invalid logic.

And where did you find it necessary to point out that "I don't know much about the Bible?" Because I stated that Yahweh chose the Jews as his people? He did didn't he?

Because you obviously don't.

The Jews are not the chosen people. The Hebrews are.

Oh, you mean I didn't mention that if people "believed" in Yahweh they could be apart of the club?

I don't think I mentioned it, because it was not relevant to my argument.

Yeah it is. But you are going to be obtuse about it.

In God's eye, there is no difference in race/nationality/etc. as long as you believe in Him.

But even if a gentile chooses to believe that does not make them a Jew, Yahweh chose a RACE of people, and you cannot change your race.

He chose the Hebrews, which are technically not a race, but an ethnic group ( a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion) and an ideology that stresses common ancestry or endogamy.).

This is also proven by the fact that the Torah says that anyone who believes in Yahweh will be brought into the fold. This can't happen if it was a race thing. It can and does happen when it is an ethnic thing.

If Yahweh had actually created, not only the Earth, but every human being walking upon it...then there would never have been any distinction whatsoever between God's "chosen people" and gentiles. For we would all be the one God's "chosen people."

You are, if you believe in Him. Research the grafting of two branches in the Torah.

You cannot change your race. A black man will never wake up white, and even if I believed in Yahweh I would not magically become Hebrew. You can certainly assimilate to a culture, but that is very different from being someone's super special chosen race.

Again. Hebrew is not a race, but an ethnic group.

Is Egyptian a race? Is Persian a race? Moabite? Edomite? Philistine?

And believing in the God of the Torah means assimilating into the culture of those who follow the Torah. duh.

Also, whatever the Bible or Torah says is irrelevant anyway. Its like arguing over a fairytale.

So the truth comes out.

So . . . why are you in this thread again?

My point is that Yahweh is a Semitic God.

I am not a Semite, therefore, Yahweh is not my God and never will be.

Anglo-Saxon and Norse Gods are way cooler anyway.

I wouldn't mind watching Odin rape and pillage Yahweh and Allah.

If you are a follower of a religion your logic is already flawed.

All of your "proof" comes from the Torah...do tell where does the Torah get its authority?

It doesn't have any?

The Torah is not proof of anything.

Yet, only "a hundred and forty and four thousand,
will be redeemed from the earth " is a minuscule 'chosen'.

Religious nonsense. You take it all out of context and historical event. Out of context one could take any verse and make it apply to anything.

Won't happen.

I get sick of saying this over and over to 'prophecies' which are made by religious nutters. Religious people are not Christians by the way, because if they were they would know certain things and there words prove they don't.

Even Ron Weinlands supporters have now gone silent as they see the stupidity.

It's kind of insulting to try to read predictions for Israel into a version of their Bible that has been completely re-interpreted (MISinterpreted) by Christians.

Read it from here & see if it says the same thing, first of all:

www.chabad.org...

Most of what you read in the Christian versions of the old testament that appear to predict something - have been manipulated from the original for that purpose.

Thanks for the heads up. hadnt really paid much attention to mideast lately. Unreliable sources and such.
Didnt know if you were aware, there are several books of the Gospel the church felt unnecessary to publish in the Holy Bible. Me, I like to be aware of all angles. Hers a link to start.

This is one of the most mis-used ideas in the original Bible, used for anti-semitism. They aren't "chosen" as in "better" - they are chosen as in held to a higher standard. They were chosen by God to show the world who God is.

And when they don't do that, they are held to a higher standard in their punishment, too.

Most Jews would HAPPILY give back this "chosen" identity! It has caused them nothing but suffering. For every story of God wiping out another village, you'll find a story where he nearly wipes out his "own" people for disobedience - or kills them wholesale.

It's not a type of "chosen" that I would want.

Romans 9:6: "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel"

Galatians 3:26-29: "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

And even Jesus Himself said in the book of Mark:

Mark 12:1-12, "And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way."

Romans 2:28-29: "28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh. 29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

Acts 13:45-46 "45But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles."

The nation of Israel were the first to have the promise offered to them, but they constantly went astray, until their probation ended with the stoning of Stephen in the book of Acts, 3 years after Jesus was crucified (Acts 7:55-60). The nation of Israel has nothing to do with the prophecies of today. True Christians are modern-day Israel, not the nation of Israel. Common sense would tell anyone that nobody can be the chosen people of God when they openly deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
