Lol! That would be interesting. "We were just out fishing and some mean biker had our spot. We tried to talk to him, but he started toward us and he mightve had a gun. We just got out of there."

Hahahaha!

Might be correct, and the outcome is still acceptable to me.

I'm sure they'd characterize it as that to their inbred friends, since they didn't get a fair chance to rape the woman and steal the bike.

Good for you at least you didn't get robbed.

My cousin lives in Detroit and had his house broken into while he was sleeping. There were 3 guys that entered and one lost his life. My cousin sleeps with a gun next to his bed. When one of the burglers entered the bedroom my cousin shot him in the chest with a direct hit to the heart. The other 2 got away.

No charges were filed on him it was deemed justified. The burglars gang buddies didn't take so kindly to it they harrassed him out of the neighborhood. They hung his dog in the yard when he wasn't home and started smashing windows out of his car. I can't get over the audasity of them thinking he did something wrong.

Oh please, the original poster is WEAK. If they wanted to shoot you they would have already done so. If they wanted to kidnap your girl, they would have already done so. You carrying a gun, didn't change the story one bit.

What if those poor fellows meant no harm at all? When they go to approach your girl, who is to say they weren't just trying to be friendly? Were you basing their threat on how they look? So what if they look scruffy, doesn't mean they are trying to kidnap your girl. And when you stepped up, they were probably, d** what the hell is up with this guy?

All you had to do, was walk up there, and say hello, or did you need anything. The problem would have dispersed. You could have kept your gun at home. If they wanted harm, they wouldn't have waited until u walked up there, and so they would have shot you when you were peeing behind the bushes.

I hate when people are so quick to "arms". USE YOUR MOUTH. Learn how to communicate. 99% of the problems, are because two sides can't talk, and so they break out their guns.

Basically you were a scared child when you saw those people approaching. And scared children don't need guns. Be a man, put the gun away. So you would really be ready to have a gun shoot out with the possibility of your girl ending up dead???? You really think you would be able to LIVE if all of the others had guns (3 vs 1)?????

1.) Stop jumping to conclusions, that this was a BAD situation. Just because you're rich, and ride bikes on the weekend, doesn't mean that every poor/scruffy person is out "to get you". Basically you felt scared because you were out of your nest egg.

2.) If u had time, and saw this situation go badly.. call the COPS. Stop with all this vigilante justice. You don't know the whole situation, so you CANNOT be the JUDGE, JURY, AND Executioner.

3.) Live by the Sword / DIE by the Sword.... Keep packing heat, and you will die by GUNSHOT. Most criminals won't shoot at you, unless you are packing. Conversely if you carry a gun, and they have a gun, then they WILL SHOOT AT YOU.

OP,
Thank's for your bad guy confrontation stories. Makes me want to carry concealed myself, but since I live in Maryland, it is very hard to qualify for a CCL.

I have a feeling that in your first post on this thread, that you did not want to escalate the confrontation with the bandido's, by pulling your knife or your pistol.

My suggestion too you: Next time in a situation like that, I would say that if you are planning to get within 15 feet of the bad guys, pull your pistol out of your clothes, but do not point the muzzle of your gun at the bad guys yet.

You are not on a city street, you are in the woods of a forest, albeit on a lonesome dirt or macadam road out in the boonies.

I have no problem, when I go hunting in a public forest, to carry my firearm exposed on a public road in the state forest.
But even if it was not public hunting land. I still would have pulled my pistol. Because, like Pyrodude said, once you get within that 15 foot range of a bad guy; you will have no chance of pulling your pistol out of your pocket, and getting off a decent shot if he rushes at you.

Just by revealing to the bad guy's, that you have already pulled your pistol; should give them second thought's about taking any hostile action.

After that confrontation, you should call the police, hopefully on your cellphone; because the bad guys might be doing the same thing, by trying to get you into trouble with the law.

Just my two cents.

Did you read it through? That is exactly what I did. I walked up, said hello and waited by the bike. When the woman went to get in the truck, I started toward them, and asked if they were going to do some fishing. They decided to leave, without speaking a word to me, and ignoring both of my friendly phrases.

They never saw the gun or the knife.

You kind of missed the whole point.

The cigars are great! My only problem is the time it takes to properly smoke one. I rarely have an hour or two to just sit and smoke.

Pyrodude is the expert on cigars. He could probably recommend a good brand for you to try out.

You cant be serious.... How the hell was your gun the main factor on why they pulled away... Could it have been that you were a BIG guy and wearing no shirt and riding a motorbike that could have been the factor? Im pretty sure its common knowledge that you dont f$%# with a bikie. We even know that here in Australia (where guns are pretty much illegal) that you dont mess with bikies. Its just stupid.

And just a question about your story... Why did those people in the truck assume that your wife, a 95lb blonde female that "attracts a lot of attenton" wearing shot cut off's and a tank top would be out in the middle of freaking no where riding a Harley by herself!?!
I know that some females do own and ride harleys, im not saying its impossible, im saying its very improbable.

So therefor why the heck didnt these people in the truck think hmmmm maybe this chicks biker boyfriend is just behind that tree taking a whiz?

Sorry i dont mean to be pickie but for a "pro-gun" story it has alot of holes.

And the thing is, i dont need to make a bunch of stories up to prove that guns are bad. I can just turn on the news where people are getting shot and schools are getting massacred.

Sorry about any spelling or grammar errors, im at work and no time to spell check.

You are the one, who made the point to tell us that you had gun. You are the one that said you were so scared that you took your safety off, and unlocked your knife. Talk about pre-mature ejaculation.. Geesh you would have started the fight, if they just said 1 word. Hello? BANG. And then enjoy your prison term. I would suggest you stop being "racist" to locals. One day you'll GET what you have been SEEKING.

Interesting story ..but is it true? You have own version of the story telling us that 99 % of the happy ending of the story is a gun factor but opposite side never saw a gun ...you was thinking that they assumed that you have gun but is that a fact ? No.Your all story is assumption and is good that everything was ok in the end ..but to think that your gun was responsible for happy end you must be Pro gun a lot.Just to mention i'm European.Star and flag for the story ...

I don't know what they were thinking, maybe they did think that, but it was still too enticing? Maybe they didn't think much at all? Maybe they just wanted the bike, I don't know.

As for the holes in the story. Sorry. It is what it is.

As for the last part though, you make my point for me. There are plenty of those "guns are bad" stories in the news, but in reality, they are the exception, not the rule. That was the motivation for posting my story. I knew there would be plenty of people to pick it apart, but I posted it anyway, as a counter-balance to all the typical gun stories.

Good story, GREAT ending.

I've been in a few situations where my weapons have played a similar role. Though I have had to draw on a guy with a knife before...Knife went away very quickly and so did the guy.

That incident almost got me fired from my job at the time. But I'd rather be jobless than dead.

Don't think I would have let them go or at least got the plate and description and reported the incident to the police. These were definitley some nasty ombres that probably need to be removed from the planet. They may have gotten away with this before and will probably attempt it again. Not to lay a guilt trip since your definitely a positive force in my book, but you may have just let a family of rapist/killers go on to perpetrate this upon someone else.

This may be against forum rules and if a mod tells me to stop I will, but every time someone posts something like this, I'm replying with my post on page 8:

I know this sounds harsh, and I'm not coming down on you or anyone else that has this outlook on life or other people, but your statement (and thus that kind of outlook) is naive and helps in creating victims.

I trust my wife, my son, my family and my closest friends. If you're not one of them, or at the very least my acquaintance, you are to be considered with suspicion. It may take only 5 seconds for me to know that you aren't any kind of threat, but it may take 6 for you to become one. He was with a person that he obviously cares deeply for. The only attitude he could take in assessing the situation is that they are a threat to her. Until they prove that they are not, he must stand at the ready.

LOL. "Racist" toward the locals? I mean, I know you are just baiting me, but what are you talking about?

By the way, no where near rich! I wish I were. Also, not a weekend warrior on the bike. I ride it just about every day. Less lately, but I've been riding for many many years.

Dude, if you saw getreadyalready's wife, you would know them dudes werent after the bike. He did what he had to do and protected his family and people need to know that it's ok to do this. We see way too many stories of BS where others hurt people just cuz they can, well we dont have to let them. Besides wether they wanted the girl or the bike who cares, they wasnt gonna get it without a fight.

Okay, but it sounded like they were making room in the truck to put something in there--like a bike.

Either way, the story is justified. I'm just trying to understand intentions here. It's hard to believe 2 guys and especially a girl would just see a random person and attempt this.

I had to laugh when I read this because my mother is a 100lb blond that owns and rides a Harley. There are a lot of women, at least around here that have and ride their own motorcycles and when going from one place to another they are in the middle of nowhere.

As far as calling the police, that's also laughable. A gun in hand is better then police on the phone any day. Its an even better story when you don't have to have a gun in your hand.

Then why did those people jump back in their truck and leave? What was their business there that they left when a strong big man appears on the scene? I'm inclined to agree that the OPs "spidey senses" were correct. I also am inclined to think they had some weapons but that they sized up the situation and realized the OP had the advantage. It sounds like they were planning a kidnapping to me. Maybe they were professional traffickers, the kind who go to the border and smuggle in illegals then sell them into slavery.

They probably meant to take the bike too.
