I can't get on to the Spanish seismo site. I guess everyone is hitting it. The article does not say what scale these are measured in.

USGS have

mb = 5.3 ML = 5.5 mblg = 4.7

The phase data suggests higher possibly.

Oh well - looks as if I was wrong. USGS have just dropped it to a 5.1 Mw
They have it as 5.1 Mw.

There's still lots of activity in that area.

Bollocks. There's is nothing ironic in this. It was 1100+km away from Roma and it fits in the daily pattern of number of 4.5-5.4 earthquakes the earth gets in a day.
Damage was related to building standards which are low (Christchurch in New Zealand had a 5.0 two days ago with no damage).
You failed to mention the 5.5 in Turkey on May 8th which was closer to Rome than the Spanish one.

All this comparison is rubbish. Rome did not get an earthqauke on the 11th just as we said, although the odds of a 2.3 are within parameters anything big (7.1+) has not happened as it's the 12th there now.

I predict Rome will get a 7+ one day..... (how accurate is that?)

Hi
I'm from Spain, I felt the earthquake.
I live 40 kilometers away. I filmed a strange cloud formation.
I leave the video here

I don't think those clouds are strange, they look like the ones I saw yesterday here in Portugal.

The Madeira Islands are Portugal.

That area is always very active, as you can see in this map, showing the earthquakes from 2011-04-12 to 2011-05-12. This last one that you pointed out is the one with a red circle around it.

You should relax a bit, you look very nervous. I never saw anybody here make jokes about names, mine is Hundroid. Yours is cacharel? You misunderstood my emoticon, I am Italian and have lots of family and good friends in Roma and surroundings. Another disaster in my homeland is the last thing I wish to happen.

I find it interesting that today's earthquake and Mt.Etna are on the same latitude:

Mt. Etna
37.7° N

Spain Earthquakes
37.699° N
&
37.693° N

Underground magma flow perhaps?

Speaking of HAARP... I'm surprised I haven't seen any pics of this yet. It almost looks like it did during the haiti and japan quakes, except it at the moment its going crazy or something?

I've been monitoring it all day

that doesnt look like ancient sandstone construction to me. hey geo/seismlogistsis, is there any formula to estimate increases in damage for quakes that are exceptionally shallow?
