As a lifelong fighter of the system and sower of discord, I feel a sort of passive agressive satisfaction when I steal from work. Its a way to be a wolf in sheeps clothing, smiling and nodding while secretly undermining the system that enslaves us all (CEOs to janitors, we all work to eat).

Nobody is enslaving you, Skippy.

It idiotically immature thinking to believe that you have some entitlement to take the labors of another man or woman's efforts.

I would feel an actively aggressive satisfaction to catch pricks stealing from me and have them arrested and thrown in jail.

In fact, I did exactly that a few years back. A guy stole so much from my company that he almost put our entire operation out of business. Is anybody served if 35 people lose their jobs because of one asshole?

The fact is most do steal , either food , pens and paper, batteries, phone usage, the fax machine, internet usage or just stealing time.
The thing is we don't see it as stealing , because 1 everybody else does 2 it's not a big ticket item and employee theft is in the budget.
Turning a blind eye to what is going on around you is as bad as stealing.
Corruption is everywhere, from the janitor to the CEO, from the president to the local dog catcher.
Why should anyone believe anyone else on the internet, because they say so ?

No one is forcing you to work for any wage. You CHOSE to accept the wage offered. If you are unhappy with what you are being paid, do not blame the employer, blame yourself for not having more marketable skills.

With all due respect, your attitude makes you sound like the stereotypical loser. Maybe thats why you are only making minimum wage.

If you have to ask you probably shouldn't... I'm not much of a catholic (I consider myself the melting pot of all cultures) but I do believe in the 10 commandments and thou shalt not steal is one of them. Through the 10 commandments is a golden barb that runs through them all and that is love. If you break one of them you effect all of them and infract upon love.

Do try to be good to yourself and to others because that is what we all need... good people.

P.S. However you want to rationalize I would ask myself for forgiveness and in turn forgive myself... it is... ever so easy

Well, they do steal the life away from most hard working people. Those at the top of the pyramid rob you into a state where you struggle to live day by day. Is that good or bad? This is called karma.

They don't steal anything from hard working people.

They run a business and when they have a position that needs filled they post an ad offering a certain amount of money and possibly benefits to someone in exchange for work that needs to be done.

Someone takes the offer because they either want to do that type of work or they take it just because they need to earn money. Either way they are not forcing anyone to work for them.

If you don't like the wages or the benefits or lack of them then don't take the job!

You can't take it then bitch that they aren't paying you enough or it's a crappy job.

If it's the only job you can get because you have no education, you use drugs or your just freaking lazy then it isn't their fault. Better your self so you can get a better job.

OP,

Do you ever worry about any kind of final judgement when you die?

I guess it depends on where you get your ethics and morals. The bible says no stealing, and render unto Caesar that which is Caesars (pay your taxes I think ). Society? Theft is illegal and punishable. Your own set of ethics? Well,,,,,
you have to live with yourself under any of the above. Having a conscience? Believing in Karma? Reincarnation for what you do in a life today for the life you get tomorrow? Respect from people you respect? Justifying your actions? All up to you, of course. You realize though, that any extra cost created by you for the corporation only gets passed along to the consumer, so basically, you are just screwing everyone but yourself.

You know what?

All you "do-gooders" are pathetic.

Why shouldn't you steal from a corporation? They only steal from everyone on massive amounts.

Your points are invalid, "no better than them" HAHA you're pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

Remember the story of Robin Hood? Yeah. Think about that then you can take your stupid inferior morals and shove em.

Would I ever steal from a locally owned business? Hell no. Would I steal from a corporation that works towards the betterment of mankind? No(but name one that does.).

Obviously not many people know what it's like to be poor and have no escape.

As a former business owner I've fired POS like you when I caught them stealing and had no regrets. You need a little education and an attitude adjustment. I have a family and obligations and when I catch you stealing from me and mine you're lucky if I just show you the door.

Where does your local family owned business get their products from?

Hint...corporations.

How do they get their products?

Hint: Transportation corporations.

You too, sound like the stereotypical loser.

Stop blaming corporations for your failures in life. You are poor as a result of your own actions and choices. At least have the responsibility to accept your crappy life is that way because you chose that direction for your life.

Stereotypical loser eh? That's why I'm attending college and am willing to bet in the future I will be much more financially successful than yourself.

Go sleep in a bush, have no money, and tell me that stealing from Carls Jr. or McDonalds is a bad thing.

I suggest you research the tale of Robin Hood.

There is nothing morally wrong stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, as long as the rich do not earn their money legitimately.

I'm not saying anyone needs to be socialist, I'm saying that the people keeping corporations moving, i.e. the cashiers, cooks and chain managers, deserve a bit more than minimum wage. These corporation's profit ratios are corrupt, as is the entire capitalist system of America.

Capitalism should focus more on enabling and empowering people to at least be able to afford their own house and have the luxury of enjoying life. Instead it focuses primarily on 10 people at the top of a corporation having enough money for 100 lifetimes.

i would of thought justifying robbing from rich only gives the rich a good excuse or reason in their minds to rob from the poor which inturn gives the poor reason to take from the rich.

i think both are wrong and all they are doing is convicing eachother it is right.

i wonder how many rich people read this thread and thought "good, i am glad we underpay our staff"

Keep dreaming little boy.

Just out of curiosity, your plan for great wealth is what....working for a corporation?

Starting your own corporation and paying your cashiers $18 an hour?

While it is not surprising that you are still in college (aka no real world experience working or having responsibilities) hopefully by the time you graduate your little idealistic worldview will change. If it doesn't life is going to rape you in ways prisoners couldn't even come up with kid.

I'll be honest and say yes I have, on numerous occasions and most of my colleagues have also. I work in IT and mostly work for the large oil companies (Shell, BP, Chevron) and to be honest it's the norm rather than the exception in IT.
Most of the time you can actually ask to steal and they will let you do it. I have had most of my personal PC components, laptops & peripherals from work.
To these large corporations it's small change to them and can actually cost them a lot more money to dispose of the equipment through normal methods. They can't sell old equipment to staff as they get taxed on it and have to pay environmentally friendly disposal companies to get rid of the equipment which costs a lot of money considering the value of these components are worth(nearly nothing) and because they have to hardware refresh every 3 years or so the PC's and laptops are still very decent for the average home user.
So to everyone slating the OP, when it comes to large companies sometimes you are actually doing them a favour and saving them money by stealing.
