It isn't really random coincidences. Natural disasters, human conflicts, and bad things have happened for years. It's just now that the earth is more populated and is more closely connected because of technology. So not only are there more people to experience the suffering, due to people being so closely linked, it becomes easier for someone who is on the opposite side of the world to feel sympathy and sorrow for someone from a distant land.

That is a good point... Especially if you consider the fact that many people believe our emotions can affect the world around us (i.e. the Art Bell mass consciousness experiment)

In the Holy Bible it simply says caught up. There's no description of the modern idea of being raptured.
Yes no one knows the time. Only the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I listne to Harold Camping but I don't agree with him saying the return will be May 21 and I don't agree on some other things. Family Radio do play nice hymns and the talk radio is interesting to hear. Thank God for shortwave.

If he does turn up on that day, i will tell him he picked one hell of a day to turn up...(see what i did there...)
as this is the day the earth is going to end (didnt he get the memo)
and its not going to leave much time for him to see the sites and meet up with old friends..

a couple of thinking points for believers - not remotely exhaustive by any means

1. know not the hour or day refers to feast of trumpets
2. folks saying 2011 may 21 are using Gregorian calendar
3. a key event from Daniel is the signing of a treaty, from which 3.5 years transpire before the psuedo-christ (remember greek word for anti is "psuedo") is revealed
4. the gospel of the kingdom must first be taugh to all nations (hasnt happened since the "church" hasnt got a clue what that is) and then the end will come
5. when you see all these things know that summer is near, etc

so then we may infer, that since most major Yehoshuah events happened on a feast day (pentecost, passover, etc) why break with tradition

thus we are looking for a few things to transpire before 21 May - dont like the chances

however one must constantly be mindful of walking right, and being a disciple instead of a religious fanatic

Know not the day or hour refers to the end. The Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and its only interpretation is from God. Plenty know the gospel. Gospel simply means good news. We're told what to do in giving that to the world. The church in the U.S.A is very messed up but God will discipline His bride. True Christians in China & elsewhere that suffer, know what it's all about.

"Christ" is a title, not a name. Secondly, there will be no rapture and most likely there will be nothing. This is exactly the same thing Blossom Goodchild was, the same thing Stan Romanek is, a farce. A ploy to try to get attention. No "God" is judging anyone for anything, people need to grow up and stop feeding into every bit of garbage they hear on tv or read on the net.

As far as christ returning...its not the long haired jewish dude that died on the cross that pissed off the ROMAN GOV and made the jews nervous. Christ is a position of the heart...seeing with spirit eyes..being able to distinguish the true from the false. Not exactly. Firstly, you are talking about many different books not one book changing mid way through. Also, it doesn't change. The old testament talks about the time when the Savior will come and lay down the final sacrifice.

All that changed with the final sacrifice was having no need to continue to sacrifice the best of one's proceeds to God.

Jesus' death opened up all of humanity to the Father, without having to be judged by the Father. Technically, you don't have to believe in Jesus Christ to get to the Father, but the Father will judge you based on your merits if you don't and I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to be judged on MY merits.

It's not hellfire, it's really freezer burn. Hell is an exile from God the source of all light, so it is the absence of energy. I can see how some would interpret it as being annihilated out of existence but that isn't quite possible.

You are a frequency of energy, that frequency can't cease to exist any more than the universe can come from nothing. Wow, did I just open up a new can of worms. No the universe can't come from nothing; however, it couldn't be created from nothing either. It is a construct of the eternal, ripped from the very bosom of God Himself. God is totality, He has existed forever and will exist even before and after time itself ceases.

Time is a human construct. Wow boy did I just open a can of worms. It would take me forever to accurately convey reality in words, and I'm not going to try now...

Just suffice it to say that don't buy the hype, humanities frailties have nothing to do with God's or the Christ's(they have none) They don't contradict each other at all, the bible does not contradict itself in the proper context, although that doesn't necessarily mean anything. There is so little we can know with any certainty that almost everything comes down to faith of some sort.

Faith in our senses, faith in our colleagues and sciences, faith in our religous institutions and leaders. How much has the religous leaders held back from us, if we could get unfettered into the vatican library for six months, what would we learn???

How much has our scientific leaders hidden from us (advertently or inadvertently)???

You know ONE thing and ONE thing only... Your consciousness exists. All else is faith based in one way or another. If you can't fathom that, then you have no hope of ever KNOWING anything.

The reason for the above is due to a possibilty, or rather, the possibility that everything you experience is a construct of your consciousness. an illusion, and there is evidence to back that up. The ubiquitous dream within a dream. If you dream at night and experience an alternate reality. OR you do drugs and experience an alternate reality that means that your consciousness creates our reality, it creates your experience.

If you know that your consciousness is capable of creating SOME of your experiences, then how can you know with certainty that it isn't creating ALL of your experiences???

The answer is you can't. So you accept your experiences, your thoughts, etc... on the faith that there is an existential reality to experience and that your consciousness interprets it accurately.

We know it doesn't. There arepeople who interpret reality completely different from others. There are people that are color blind, so some people are capable of seeing multiple colors where others see only a few.

There are some people who have never heard and will never hear, so they interpret reality differently than those that can. So even if there IS an existential reality (and we can never be sure there is) then our consciousnesses interpret it differently from each other and we can never fully trust our experiences to be accurate.

I went to Christian school throughout elementary and junior high, but I do not identify as Christian. The people who do are -- for the most part -- nothing like Christ, which defeats the entire purpose, where I come from. Now -- give away everything you own, and wander from place to place, feeding the hungry, housing the poor, healing the sick, and so on, and we'll talk.

In the meantime, Jewish mythology has little to do with my life, as I am not Jewish. I don't begrudge them their thing, so long as they don't try to force it on me, or tell me I am not "good enough" because I lack the good housekeeping stamp of approval. As far as Christian gentiles go, it is very difficult to take them seriously, but IMO -- the story of Genesis is pretty clearly a cautionary tale about prohibition. God couldn't even make that idea work, and his people (in the garden) knew what he was and were certain that he existed. This makes all the prohibitions that follow seem rather pointless, doesn't it?

Now -- believers in the May 21st "rapture" event: dust off your shoes and head to the next town. Perhaps they will be a little more desperate for cheap entertainment.

For the last time: The number and severity of Earthquakes this year (or any other year in this century) are about average over the period of time since we first started measuring them. Ask any geologist. Ask any geology grad student (like my wife). The idea that there are somehow MORE earthquakes and that their severity has somehow "increased" is anti-science and pro-ignorance.

If I see someone post that earthquakes are increasing, its a safe bet that they do not have the mental faculties or knowledge to be right about anything else, right?

I have read the Bible several times.. I stopped being spoon fed by men in 1999.. Satan did get Eve pregnant and he did try to populate this world with his seed to get man to follow his ways instead of God's way! It is all in there if you read it.

Those people are just another cult. The question is what will THEY do when he doesn't come on the 21st. The bible says that no one will know when the rapture happens so what makes these people think that they have the date taken down and ready to go? If you ask me this reminds me of all those cults that committed mass suicide. I wasn't born until the early 90's but i've studied these cults and they are all connected in the way that they "predicted" a doomsday that will never come.
