Just wanted to say thanks "thedeadwalkk". I am interested in the animal deaths going on (trying to figure if its normal or not) and I did not know about the scientists finding neuro toxins in the fish that died in California. I may have missed it if not for your post.

The scientists say the neuro toxins came from the fish eating an algae bloom. Right, time to start researching about neuro toxins and algae.

Hey man I answered the question. But how do you not know the answer already? its like asking why is there a tornado warning when theres a tornado 100 feet away from you. Also when I was talking about the distrust I wasn't talking about you directly ( i know it seemed like I was and I now realize that ) but I was speaking generally, based on what I've been reading on ATS the past few months

If you knew me in real life I am the least confrontational person on here. I do not hype up threads, I am a real life kinda lassie. Only really interested in earth sciences/Japan. I do not troll and I certainly do not instigate rows here by being rude or disrespectful. I am sorry for asking for clarification re the body bags, I am aware of the civil defense mock incidents going on over there with you. The tornado activity in the mid west and flooding... I am also following all earthquakes daily inc all swarm activity inc activity not mentioned on ATS over in Iceland ( its closer to home)

I will go back to lurking as clearly its not worth trying to communicate on here for fear of upsetting fellow ATS members..

There has to be something said for the predictive nature of aquatic Mammals and Oceanic happenings !!!

I dunno, just thought it was cool.

I just posted this in another thread about the beached whales - it could be a clear sign that the New Madrid is getting ready to blow.

Also there has been an uptic of seismic activity in the caribbean lately - so don't be surprised if a mega quake happens somewhere down there, maybe even Haiti again....

thanks.... even if its my scottish lilt !!!! ...... I was thinking this EQ seems to have come from left field a bit considering all the activity on the pacific rim. Current hot spots as we all know Chile, Japan, Alaska, Indonesia, California and the New Mexico fault.. could all this activity transfer to the atlantic plates ..I know its a different continental plate so to speak from all the grinding going on in the pacific.

What is the possability of the atlantic plates beginning an activity sequence as seen in the pacific. Iceland up the top end is rumbling away , but as we all know this is a constructive boundary, there are a couple of volcanos rumbling away with possible eruptive activity due. Is there historic record of any big earthquakes in the atlantic?

... again forgive the question if it seems dumb.....

I have been curious and watching data and events for some time now looking to see if there is some sort of correlation between the sea animals and earthquakes. My suspicion is that the earth vents in areas at varying times before earthquakes. I believing the venting can cause odd mass sea animal migrations and die offs. If you think about hydro-thermals and black smokers they emit much hotter then normal water, and can have acidic properties thus changing the ph of the water around. I believe it has recently been discovered that these under water vents even emit an odd type of bacteria. Now think about the warmer water and how that can play into algae blooms, how the ph change might force certain animals to need to leave and at the same time attract other species.

My attention to this was 1st drawn by the mass sea lion exodus from San Francisco, the majority of them ended up in the caves in Oregon. I thought that was odd because the caves are closer to fault lines then the Pier they all lived at but four months later 8.8 in Chile 2 month after that 7.2 hits in Baja Cali Mexico. Now before anyone goes off about the wide time frame think about pre-quakes and how long before the major quake they can start. Also think about the mass Giant Squid invasion shortly after the sea lions left the California Coast. Lastly Japan has used sightings of earthquake fish (ore fish) for centuries as a warnings of earthquakes. The Oarfish normally frequent depths of 1000 meters and sightings of live Oarfish are very rare, so something is happening under water that makes them come up before quakes.
